The Edmund Fitzgerald weighed 200 lbs. The Fitzgerald was a freighter ship. The Fitzgerald was taking taconite. It launched in June 7 ,1958. When the ship sank the Fitzgerald took all 29 down. The biggest problem was there was a storm. I think the Fitzgerald sank because of the Three Sisters. Most of the reason why I support this theory is because that Captain Cooper from the Anderson has some information for this theory. The Fitzgerald sank in Lake Superior- Whitefish. Nobody is sure what happened.

The ship was shot down by Germany and was carrying Americans on board. 128 American passengers were killed. In 1916 the U.S. and Germany entered into an agreement called the Sussex Pledge. The pledge meant that Germany agreed to give us fair warning before sending an attack on ships in that area so we would know to get americans out of there to safety. This I think was a good idea because it let us know to move out of the way, and helped us save lives. In 1917 Germany decided to ignore the Sussex Pledge and continued to shoot down ships without giving us warning. This killed many more American citizens. Have you ever wondered who sank the Titanic? Captain Smith was responsible for the sinking of the Titanic because he put the ship in full speed, he was ignoring the ice warnings, and there were no warnings for the people at the iceberg sighting.

First, I think that Captain Aimee Le Medec is ultimately to blame because he abandoned ship. He could of prevented the explosion through many different ways such as opening the hatches or turning the boat back to sea. Instead he did none of these. In addition Captain Aimee Le Medec blatantly ignored putting the red flag up on the Mont Blanc. For 20 minutes crowds collected around Halifax Harbour to watch the billowing smoke filled with sparks and fire as the Mont Blanc drifted towards the wharf. If the red flag was up then these people would have been warned that there were munitions on board and the people would of had a chance to run from the wharf. Finally I that Captain Aimee Le Medec is ultimately to blame because he could have moved the ship towards port when the Mont Blanc encountered the Imo in the narrow harbour. Instead he entered a state of shock, ordering the crew to abandon ship. I feel that Captain Aimee Le Medec never took initiative to stop this tragedy which he should feel ashamed

Submarine divers were sent to Havana to find out the cause of this tragic event. The divers soon found 260 men dead from the explosion. Dynomite experts learned that the explosion was no accident. This was an intentional doing. There was some overheard conversation that there was a plot to blow up the ship. The United States naval forces discovered that there was a mine in the harbor that caused the explosion.

The current event under discussion is actually a series of events. This year, four Navy ships have collided with other ships or run aground in the pacific region. This has resulted in at least 7 dead, 8 injured, and10 missing sailors. While Navy ship collisions are rare, the reasons behind these collisions has forced the Navy to reexamine its policies and will impact global leadership.

One reporter asked was the USS Greer visibly marked as American by anything other than the small flag. He questioned if the USS Greer was alone or in company of other larger vessels. The President answered that the flag along with an identification number was listed on the side of the destroyer; however, the vessel was traveling alone. Along with that it is believed the Lusitania suffered from a second explosion, either the ammunition stored down below or a possible second torpedo launched from the U boat. Knowingly travelling into enemy waters, unguarded, with weapons, the Lusitania was inevitably sunk in order to achieve an excuse to join actively into the war for profit.
