Roll of thunder hear my cry
A real life person that feels the same as Stacey is Rosa Parks, because she stood up for what she thought is right and so does Stacey. This was my thought on who the most courageous character from the novel is and I hope you will agree with me, now i gotta get back to the field.
Courage is shown when a character stands up for what they think and express. In roll of thunder hear my cry, Stacey shows the most courage by going to help T.J, digging the trench, and staying with T.J when he was wanted.
This proves he is a strong courageous man who loves his family and friends. Stacey is a great character that deserves lots of respect maybe after hearing my thoughts you will agree with me. Would you do anything for
Courage is one of the most important character traits a person can have. Robert Francis Kennedy once said, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” Courage is shown in both the novel To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee and the movie The Help directed by Tate Taylor. Both the book and movie’s theme of courage, the ability to do the right thing despite challenges and oppressions, is shown through the characters’ action, symbolism, and dialogue.
He will stand with his friends until the end. Stacey was willing to protect his friends even if it got him into trouble. Stacey Logan was willing to get in trouble so he could protect his friends. When he snuck out of the house in the middle of the night, he went through the woods to T.J.´s house to take him home. When he entered the woods too go back home, the night men came to T.J.´s house and dragged everyone out.
During the climax of the book, the beating of the Averys, Stacey stayed behind to watch the violent scene while the Logan kids went safely back home to their parents. According to the text, “Stacey whispered “ you take Little Man and Christopher John and y’all-” (Taylor,253). Even though Stacey got cut off he was going to tell the kids to go home, and that he would stay there and keep watch of what was going on between the white and the blacks, which was extremely courageous. The text also says, “Papa spun around suddenly. “Gotta get him out of there,” he said, moving quicker than I had thought possible with his bad leg.” (Taylor,259). This shows how worried Stacey’s parents were about him being close to all the fighting, which shows how courageous he was to be there. Stacey’s bravery further proves that being courageous, means you have to stand up for your convictions and
Admirable is defined as deserving respect and approval, but how can you decide admirability just from reading a story? Between seventh grade books that show nothing but disrespect, to rotten little girls who pride themselves on being white, the biggest conflict in Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry overall is racism and segregation. Many problems occurred which tested the mind and character of each person in the story. Cassie Logan, throughout the book, handled these issues the best out of everyone. Although other characters may have reacted well, Cassie stands out as the most admirable. In the book, she exhibited many traits in her actions that shows she is the most admirable character in
Courage: Displayed by Characters Courage is an action shown by brave people that stand up for what they believe in. Soldiers are a prime example of courage, they show courageous actions everyday. TJ gets himself in trouble with R.W. and Melvin Simms, two white brothers. The boys only want TJ around so they have someone to put the blame on and make fun of him. When TJ wants a very nice handgun at the Barnett Mercantile, the Simms brothers fool him into thinking that his dream is about to come true. RW and Melvin convinced TJ to try to steal the gun. They were caught in the act and the brothers punished TJ horribly. TJ tapped on the Logans door in the middle of the night. Stacey and Cassie answered the door. They knew they had to help him despite the negative acts against their family. “Stacey? I whispered afraid of what he might do. As far back as I could remember, Stacey had felt a responsibility for TJ I had never really understood why. Perhaps he felt that even a person as despicable as TJ needed someone he could call “friend”, or perhaps he sensed TJ’s vulnerability better than TJ did himself. Stacey, you ain’t goin’ are you?... You go on back to bed Cassie. I’ll be alright.” (pg. 249) This quote is a prime example of Stacey’s courage. Stacey knows that helping TJ could get him in trouble or even killed. Stacey is a true friend, and a brave one too.
Throughout To Kill a Mockingbird, courage is represented many times. Atticus represents courage when he takes the Tom Robinson case, stands up to Bob Ewell, and when he shoots Tim Johnson. Scout represents courage when she stands up for Walter, punches cousin Francis, and when she breaks up the mob. Boo Radley represents courage when he kills Bob Ewell, saves Scout and Jem, and strokes Jem. Courage is still very important because if we don’t have courage, then we won’t take risks. If we don’t take risks, then we won’t achieve

What is courage? I define courage by being tough in a tough situation. Mississippi Trial a book where an African-American boy is murdered because of his race. In this book, there are many people who I think have courage, but no more than Naomi Rydell. Naomi is a beautiful young woman who lives a horrible life from being abused by her father, she acts as two people, and even though it all she stays truthful to her father.
Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry is a wondrous book with many different characters that have their own unique traits. One of the characters in this book is Cassie, who is a nine-year-old girl living in Mississippi during the Great Depression. The trait that best describes her is being courageous. The denotative definition of courageous is. “Not deterred by danger or pain; brave.”
Courage is defined as "the quality of mind or spirit enabling one to meet danger or opposition with fearlessness." According to Atticus Finch, one of the main characters in To Kill a Mockingbird, "Courage is when you know you're licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what." (pg.121). Harper Lee clearly portrays the theme of courage in her novel, To Kill a Mockingbird. One likes to think of a hero, as strong, brave, and meeting all challenges head on. All the characters in this book have a different view as to what courage
