Kanye West once said, "I ain't going after nobody on the radio. I'm going' after Shakespeare. I'm going' after Walt Disney. I'm going' after Howard Hughes. I'm going' after David Stern. I'm going after Henry Ford. I'm goin' after Elon Musk." Yes, Kanye West, a well- known rapper, head of the record label GOOD Music, and creator of Yeezy fashion line often says things that people quote for years to follow and when he mentioned Shakespeare...that was something that caught even my attention. While both men came from a middle-class lifestyle, Kanye grew up with a single mom while Shakespeare grew up with both his parents and his father was a well-know leather worker. Both Kanye and Shakespeare had humble beginnings and worked hard for things that they wanted. Yet sadly, both men experienced deep losses in their lifetimes as well. Kanye lost his mom Donda in 2007 from heart disease that was linked to postoperative factors following a plastic surgery procedure. Kanye was devastated and had to take some time off. He wrote the songs, “Hey Momma” and “Only One” in his mother’s honor. Shakespeare lost his 11 year old son, Hamnet, and wrote the play, Hamlet, in memory of his son. The songs and the play shows us that Kanye and Shakespeare are not afraid to show their sensitive side in their work and that they connected deeply to their
No society remains immobile, even if some human beings resist changes. The advances in technology and the emergence of new beliefs allow people to have a broader imagination. Thus, numerous new interpretations of ancient works, whether they are plays, folktales, or poems, permeate around the world. William Shakespeare, one of the greatest authors of all time, was born in Stratford-upon-Avon, United Kingdom. The exact date of his birth is unknown though many historians have come to the agreement that he was born on or near April 23 1564. This assumption is due to the fact that his records show he was baptized on the 26th of April 1564. It is also likely that he attended King Edward VI Grammar School in Stratford. As that would have been typical for a child who’s father was an alderman. What is known is that he did not go to Unversity.
There are few names as commonplace, ubiquitous, and recognizable as that of William Shakespeare. His enchanting story telling, complex plot twists, and brilliant usage of rhetoric make it easy to understand why connoisseurs of the English language are devotees to his style of writing. However, it is his extremely portable themes that endear him to today’s audience – plotlines that resonate with the modern everyday human just as much with someone from the 1600s.
Kanye was born to Donda West, an English professor, and Ray West, a former Black Panther and influential photojournalist who became a church counselor. His parents divorced when he was 3, and Donda West raised him by herself. Kanye still saw his father during the summers, and Ray West had a lasting effect on Kanye 's temperament. "Like his dad, Kanye has little patience for what he thinks is unjust," writes Donda West in her autobiography, Raising Kanye. "If he sees a president leave human beings stranded on rooftops for days at a time, his passion and compassion will outweigh his patience." Donda West was a massive force in helping Kanye develop his burgeoning musical talents. "My mother was my everything," Kanye told MTV News in 2005. Kanye 's mother helped a 13-year-old Kanye pay to cut his first record in a dingy basement studio. West graduated from Polaris High School and completed one year of art school at Chicago State University. (Kanye West Biography)

The play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare contains a broad set of distinct characters that are complex and human, as they develop the plot and create more than one storyline. As these characters work to enhance the narrative, their individual personalities cause many of them to disagree constantly, and at the same time, find much in common. Tybalt is a rather aggressive character who is willing to fight anyone. Lord Capulet is Tybalt’s uncle, and while he is generally a patient and composed man, he can be very controlling at times. Tybalt and Lord Capulet both have a strong sense of loyalty and devotion to the Capulets, yet they have incompatible temperaments and priorities when it comes to defending their side.
Oh God, why must this wretched vision be so? You lay with the earth and your blood is stone, yet your passing feels so unreal as if mere touch could stir you. I’d wager there still remains a stain of passion upon your rosy cheek. But you slumber on and shall not wake, not even for me, your loyal servant, though you will never be my king now. Why must you leave me? How can my fading spirit stand hopeless against fate all on its lonesome? How, when foul hopelessness is all that is left to comfort me in this dark time and all happiness I once had flees so hastily from me, departing with you, the one that shall be mourned with all the sorrow an eternity can hold. You must awaken now, my lord! Your royal duty is yet to be fulfilled and excuse is the friend of folly! You must be crowned king. I must leave to serve you as a king, as I have wished so before. Sleep on though, dream on my prince and good tidings to you, for what is heaven if not a pleasant everlasting dream, so I hope.
In the time of the Elizabethan Era there was a strict role of diversity. People were judged by fame, wealth, skills, and birth; then placed in social groups based on how they were judged. In this era many people did not rise above what they were born into, but for William Shakespeare he made becoming famous in the late 1500’s look easy. Still to this day he is talked about, even though somethings about his personal life are uncertain.
No falter can be made that Shakespeare and 360 are not alike. Like 360, Shakespeare rose to fame by writing plays which projected him into the lime light and which has now made him a household name and a subject taught in schools across the world. Although 360 will never achieve the legendary status, Colwell is heading down the right path. Shakespeare thrived in the age of humanism which shared its rudimentary optimism towards human nature. Although to a certain degree this era has no doubted faded, with colloquialism sweeping through the cities of the world like a plague, certain people give it hope, with a chance that it could return. For the majority of Shakespeare’s most famous and well know plays, typical mainstream subjects of the time were used as there's no denying that the themes of greed, ambition and love are delicately and skilfully portrayed in play such as Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet. These plays each had references to the human condition which is expressed in terms of the searching for meaning, searching for a purpose. Love, Freedom and mortality are all key examples of these which are evident in both Shakespeare’s and 360’s work. The theme of freedom is quite strong in 360’s songs, particularly in “Price of Fame”. Where it questions what the price people will have to pay to be famous and regards being famous as a
During the renaissance period, every human being attempted to understand their place in the world relative to God, because God was no longer the most important driving force in the universe. In Shakespeare’s life, his only son Hamnet died at the age of 11 in 1596. Shakespeare felt as if he did not know himself after he lost his son, but simply decided to push his emotions aside and not act on the matter. Four years later, Shakespeare wrote Hamlet, a play about a boy who avenges his murdered father in order to regain his identity. Shakespeare expresses his feelings and struggles vicariously through Hamlet in the play because when Hamnet initially died, Shakespeare sided with inaction.

William Shakespeare, a prosperous Renaissance man, is known as the greatest playwright in English literature. He was born on April 23, 1564 in a small town called Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, England to John and Mary Arden Shakespeare (Waller). William started his writing during the time period where individuality and freedom of choice were put emphasis on. This lifestyle greatly influenced a vast majority of his works and his contributions to the English language. Shakespeare has written over thirty-seven plays, his most famous being Romeo and Juliet. William Shakespeare, the third of eight children born, was born in 1564 from the rural town of Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire, England. William, along with his seven siblings, grew up in the middle class with his mother, Mary Arden, and father, John Shakespeare, who was a successful glove maker. Shakespeare grew up and met his wife Anne Hathaway. Records show William and his wife got married in 1582. The theory has been proposed that “Shakespeare, at the age of 18, was forced to marry Anne, since their first child, Susanna, was born about six months” after their wedding (Forster). Currently, Shakespeare is most known for writing 37 plays that are then divided into comedies, tragedies, and histories along with 154 sonnets (Forster). Nonetheless, several scholars doubt the authorship William Shakespeare. However, the question of Shakespeare’s Authorships did not begin recently. In fact, the question arose in the late eighteenth century (Goldman).
