“Power tends to corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” This quote by Lord Acton explains that a person's morals start lacking as their power increases. This is the case with both the Russian revolution and the allegorical book Animal Farm by George Orwell. To go more in depth the quote also represents that comparisons of both czar Nicholas ll and Farmer Jones and Joseph Stalin and Napoleon in the book Animal Farm. These are just three examples proving that the events in Animal Farm are a good representation of the Russian Revolution. In the end hatred and new ideas drove the motivation for both Animal Farm and the Russian revolution to do vile things. The events in Animal Farm were similar to those during the Russian revolution. In both cases citizens were starving. For example in Animal Farm the animals were often left infer for multiple days due to Mr. Jones being drunk. Both were very hated. Jones was hated by all the animals because he was human. Czar Nicholas was hated by the Russian people because he was a bad leader. A second way these two were similar was they both avoided their responsibilities. Jones avoided his responsibility of taking care and feeding the animals by drinking. Czar Nicholas ll avoided his responsibilities by leaving to go fight in the war leaving the government to his wife. Thirdly, at the end they were both overthrown due to the fact that they avoided their responsibilities and were hated. Farmer jones was overthrown by the animals when they became impatient about them not getting any food and decided to take charge. Similarly, czar Nicholas ll was overthrown by his people when had had enough of his
