The book Animal Farm is often considered to be based on the Russian revolution. In the book the animals free themselves from the dictatorship of evil farmers. In the beginning of the book the animals are fed up with the farmers and lead a revolt against the them. The end result was that the animals drove the farmers from the lank, freeing the animals to do as they pleased. The revolution was successful, but corruption sets in and by the end of the book, the animals are no better off than when they started. The book Animal Farm can also be compared to the Haitian Revolution. The Haitian Revolution and the revolution in the book Animal Farm are very similar, just with different end results. One way the two slave revolts are similar is in the reason they are fought. In the two revolutions the slaves were sick of being treated so badly. In the book, the animals are …show more content…
In the Haitian Revolution the end result was good. The Haitians revolted against their masters in 1791 and were independent and master free by 1804. They had fought long and hard and finally got their independence and are still a free country to this day. In the book Animal Farm, the story does not have such a happy ending. The animals in Animal Farm revolt against their human owners and lead a successful revolution. But they assign the wrong leaders. The pigs in the book are assigned as leaders of the farm and nobody really questions them. The pigs begin to change the rules and take all of the good food for themselves. The pigs have begun to enforce themselves with a band of vicious dogs that kill any animal that is considered to be a traitor. The animals are working harder and for less than they did with the original farmers. The pigs have become corrupt and are practically just as bad, if not worse than, the farmers were. The pigs made the animals back into slaves and the animals didn’t even notice it
The novel Animal Farm by George Orwell was a parallel to the Russian Revolution. The examples of the Russian Revolution in animal farm are the start of it when the stroke of Old Major happens with represents Lenin’s stroke. The murder of Snowball was Trotsky being murdered and forced into exile by Stalin. The dogs represent the secret police that shut down any of the opposition to make Stalin or Napoleon look bad. The last example of the parallel to the Russian Revolution was Napoleon says it's better now than when the farmer Mr. Jones was there, which is a direct parallel to Stalin saying its better without Czar Nicholas.
After the pigs meet with the humans, the animals see the pigs walking out of the house on two legs with whips in their trotters, which causes the animals to be shocked: “It was a pig walking on his hind legs. Yes, it was Squealer… And a moment later, out from the door of the farmhouse came a long file of pigs, all walking on their hind legs… and out came Napoleon himself… He carried a whip in his trotter” (Orwell 131-132). The animals soon realize what is happening on the farm, the pigs are starting to act like humans. It is clear that the pigs are exactly like humans, as it is expressed at the resolution of the novella: “ Twelve voices were shouting in anger, and they were all alike. No question, now, what had happened to the faces of the pigs. The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which” (Orwell 139). Since the animals cannot tell the difference between the pigs and the humans, the farm is back to the same place, which is what caused the Rebellion to happen formerly. All the animals went through extremely exhausting work just to end up where they started
1.Orwell's Animal farm is an allegory to the Russian revolution but it uses animals to demonstrate the events, for example in chapter six it says “ All that year the animals worked like slaves. But they were happy in their work; they grudged no effort or sacrifice, well aware that everything that they did was for the benefit of themselves and those of their kind who would come after them, and not for a pack of idle, thieving human beings”. This is showing how the farm owners would treat these animals like slaves which eventually caused the big rebellion. And all of this symbolizes the big picture, the Russian Revolution took place in 1917 when the peasants and working class people of Russia revolted against the government of Tsar Nicholas II.
Animal Farm by George Orwell is about the Russian Revolution shown by animals. Farmer Jones was always drunk and a mean farmer. Napoleon the pig kicked out Snowball who was also a pig, and only cared about himself and the other pigs on the farm. Power corrupts is shown by Jones wanting more and more power, Napoleon kicking out Snowball and Napoleon only caring about the pigs on the farm.
Animal farm is a story about animals that live on a farm and want to start a utopia. The novel is also related to the Russian revolution and they too were fighting for a utopia. The animals have a head leader they would get treated badly and the Russian revolution to have a bad leader. Not only that, but snowball aka task was kicked out by Napoleon aka Stalin. They both as well kicked their leaders out eventually. After they kicked out their leader they went back to the way things
This leads to the Animal Farm to be corrupt. The new phrase the pigs created is a form of corruption on Animal Farm. This connects to Marx idea, his ideals that there is comradeship to all, everyone is including in voting and decision-making, so that not a group or individual will oppress another. Too much power will lead to a class to believe that they are more privileged. The power that the pigs received has made them believe that the other animals only exist to serve them and to provide with food and their luxurious lifestyle. Throughout the novel in Animal Farm there are many problems. They include, the animals versus Mr. Jones, the animals versus the pigs, Animal Farm versus the humans and Snowball versus Napoleon. They are all examples of the unfairness of class. The with too much power there becomes

As a result the animals in control have become so alike to the humans it is difficult to tell the difference. The Russian Revolution began with Czar Nicholas the second's control ending as the revollution evolved, as change of control progressed. Animal Farm is a similarity to the Russian Revolution because it has the same exact plot as the revolution but with different ideals. It try to make the farm a perfect place but failed because of Napoleon the pig who were ruining the farm by taking command and being selfish. Animal Farm is an example of dystopia because it has the same producted
The animals in the book “Animal Farm” hoped to achieve unity, equality. trust/truth, prosperity, better quality of life, freedom and individuality, in terms of the revolution. This was achieved at the beginning of the revolution, which made it a success, but in the end the revolution was a failure.
Because the animal’s belief in making a communist world is never fully created, success is never shown within Animal Farm. Consequences come with having tyranny, such as the pigs threatening animals and abusing power to maintain control . If the animals were to stand up about the injustice in the farm, dictatorship may end and their utopian world can be created. People can realize that nothing will be exactly perfect using the failure of Animal Farm’s dreamed utopia, and that perfection may lead to negative
“Animal Farm” was a book written by George Orwell in 1945 about the Russian Revolution, and because “Animal Farm” was written about politics, and politics tends to repeat itself, it can relate to many current and older political events. Some events can even compare so exactly, it is almost as if they were based off of it. “Animal Farm” can compare to the Egyptian Revolution that took place in 2011 because there was an original uprising, the new leader was thrown out of the country, and the second leader was even more cruel.
Animal Farm is a fable written about the rise and fall of the Soviet Union, using animals to symbolize their political failure. They portray a certain person that was alive and involved in the Russian Revolution/ Soviet Union. George Orwell incorporated some of his ideas and opinions about the revolution to make the book relate to the events of the Russian Revolution. The Russian Revolution was a time in which the Russian government became crueler, and turned into more of a dictatorship. Animal Farm is a "fairy tale story" based on the Russian Revolution. The story can be related to almost any revolution because the main idea involves dictatorship. In this essay, Animal Farm will be compared to the events and people that were involved in the French Revolution. The animals in Mr. Jones farm were treated harshly, like the lower class citizens of France. The common element in both was that there was no middle class, the French and the animals on the farm were either very wealthy or living in extreme poverty. As for the French revolution, King Louis XVI can be compared to Mr. Jones the farmer because King Louis XVI was the ruler in France before the revolution and Mr. Jones owned and controlled the farm.
