“Animal Farm” was a book written by George Orwell in 1945 about the Russian Revolution, and because “Animal Farm” was written about politics, and politics tends to repeat itself, it can relate to many current and older political events. Some events can even compare so exactly, it is almost as if they were based off of it. “Animal Farm” can compare to the Egyptian Revolution that took place in 2011 because there was an original uprising, the new leader was thrown out of the country, and the second leader was even more cruel.

He ruled for a long time and became bitter and lazy. He was overthrown and almost immediately was replaced by Mohammed Morsi. He had all these ideas, and in the end, it was because of his new and wild ideas that got him into trouble. He only lasted months as president before he was overthrown by the Egyptian minister of defense and commander-in-chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. To compare this current event to “Animal Farm” is easy. Hosni Mubarak is the farmer, Mr. Jones. They both ruled over people (or animals) that hated them, and their subjects overthrew them because they thought that anything else was going to provide a much better life. Mohammed Morsi is Snowball; they both won the loyalty of the people during the rebellions and uprising, but their new ideas were their downfalls. Adbel Fattah el-Sisi is Napoleon. He and Napoleon relate to each other in so many ways; the first being they both have a background in the military field, the second way is that they were both close to Morsi, or Snowball, but not exactly in the direct chain of command or the …show more content…
Since this book was written about a political event, and politics always finds a way to repeat itself, this book can relate and compare to many different situations and event that have happened throughout the years, and in many years to come. The book, “Animal Farm” and the Egyptian Revolution relate to each other in many different ways. A few of those ways being that there was an original uprising that involved the old, cruel leader being removed from office, the new leader that took over after the uprising was thrown out of the country, and the second leader after the uprising was even more cruel than the first who was kicked

Just like Russia, Animal Farm starts with the idea of a type of government where everybody is equal, except it gradually transformed into a dictatorship. With the help of syntax, Orwell made the connection between Animal Farm and Russia. For example, in chapter four "-Once on October 12th, the anniversary of the Battle of the Cowshed, and once on Midsummer Day, the anniversary of the rebellion." (Orwell 31). Doing a quick Google search and a person will discover that in 1917, Russia had a huge revolution in the month of October, known as the October Revolutions or Red October. The anniversary of the rebellion is a reference to when the revolution started, which occurred on March 8, 1917. In addition to the previous example, another example is in the next chapter, which states, "At first no one had been able to imagine where these creatures came from, but the problem was soon solved: they were the puppies whom Napoleon had taken away from their mothers and reared privately.” (Orwell 38). In other words, Orwell is making a parallel to the fact that throughout history governments have taken children away from their parents and have raised them to be soldiers. This fact and along with the
Animal Farm, by George Orwell was published in 1945, a crucial time in history because of Stalin’s takeover of the Soviet Union and his exploitation of the centralized communist government. This was in direct contradiction to the expected results of the Russian Revolution. Orwell felt that revolutions fail because the end result is a change of tyrants and not of government. Orwell exemplifies this failure through the goals of the revolution and their failure to meet them, the malfunction of Napoleon and Snowball’s rule together, and Napoleon’s disastrous reign.
After the Czar, a provisional government is set up in Russia to run the country (Brown). After Mr. Jones, the animals are led by a pig named Napoleon who ends up being very similar to Farmer Jones as well. Also, another way these two people are alike is they were both forced out of their rule. Czar Nicholas was forced into exile and later killed. Farmer Jones had been forced out by his animals who took over.

Animal Farm is an allegory of the period in Russian history between 1917 and 1944. It is a satirical story written in the form of an animal fable. Animal Farm and ISIS’s leaders are similar. In Animal Farm’s case it is Napoleon, and in ISIS’s case it is Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Both are very bad people and are selfish and greedy. Both use propaganda to make people believe what they say. When Napoleon does something on purpose for his own purpose which is against the commandments, he makes everyone believe that it meant something else and not what is actually

People are intrigued by a book through its content. However, when a reader can relate to the book, it reminds them of their own life story. This is exactly what Orwell did when writing Animal Farm. He created the book to open people’s eyes and see what was really going on in front of them. Animal Farm intrigues so many people because though it is a fiction book, it is based on true events that happened in Russia. Animal Farm, a book based on Stalin’s Russia, can be interpreted in several ways: the similar characteristics between Stalin and Napoleon, the animal parallels, and the parallel between Stalin’s Russia (USSR) and the Animal Farm.
The Egyptian Revolution is very similar to the “Animal Farm” events, so similar they almost seem to mirror each other. “During the reign of Hosni Mubarak, Egypt was also suffering from a hard master” (Kevin Klesta). They suffered from limited freedoms and restricted rights, leading them to rebel against Mubarak in 2011 (Kevin). It was
Revolutions are started by communities that are unhappy with how they are living their lives. Revolution is a way to create change. However, in many revolutions new leaders emerge and will sometimes create a life that is worse than it was to begin with. This happens throughout the book Animal Farm by George Orwell. In this essay, I will talk about how Napoleon takes food away from the other animals, how Napoleon classifies himself, using these topics, I will provide evidence and explain how Napoleon and the other pigs became just like those they overthrew and denounced. The revolution in Animal Farm began because Mr. Jones, the owner of the farm, used the animals to benefit his own well-being. Now after the revolution,
