In the case involving the Rankin County School Board, the Brandon High School Band, and the Rankin County District Office there are two main legal/constitutional issues. The first issue is the constitutionality of promoting Christianity at a public school and the second issues is the court order from a federal judge prohibiting the school district from promoting religious ideologies. With that being said, the Rankin County School Board has been sued before in violation of a students’ first amendment right, which grants the student freedom of and from religion. The student felt forced to participate in a prayer at a school event. After the Rankin County School Board was sued over the allegations, a policy was adopted in order to prevent the

Many buildings compose the small town of Catlin, Illinois, but one building has affected more people than any other building in the town: the high school. In this building, teachers prepare students to take on the world. No matter what a student decides to do after graduating, the high school marks the beginning of his or her journey. Catlin’s high school possesses a rich history and it is constantly adding on to its story. Undergoing many reconstructions, Salt Fork High School started as a small schoolhouse for all ages. Now, nearly three hundred bright individuals call it his or her school.
RITTMAN DISTRICT — For the second time, the Rittman High School has been designated one of Ohio’s Schools of Promise by the state superintendent for efforts made to close the achievement gap of those from low-income families.
To approach finding a solution to the problem in Belmont High School, an evaluation took place through standard crime analysis by reviewing all service calls and reported crimes made to and around the school, analysing it in a geographical perspective. An intuitive analysis was also conducted with the patrol officers collecting further background information to the core of the problem and key incidents. Due to the unsustainability to operate through traditional methods of policing, stakeholders had to evaluate possible methods that did not affect diminished resources that the school possessed. With this, Belmont High School’s primary project goal was to ultimately reduce crime and disorder in and around the school. This developed a hypothesis
For the last two years, Cameron King has been a writer for Thousand Oaks High School’s award-winning student newspaper, The Lancer. This past year, Cameron took on a leadership role as sports editor. As an editor, Cameron is not only responsible for layout design, but also determining the focus of each piece and the angle in which they are written. This means he has to have knowledge in both women’s and men’s sports and the athletes who play them. This sounds like a “do-able” task, but in truth, it takes much thought, research, preparation and communication. Why? Because not only does Cameron write and publish, he also commands a team of staff writers responsible for contributing to his section of the paper. In this capacity, Cameron continues to demonstrate strength as a leader and mentor. Cameron has a way of cajoling his team into working a little later or a little harder, so even though the sports
For the success of Broken Arrow High School, Broken Arrow High School should offer more advanced classes and classes on campus so more students can participate school education. BAHS currently only has two college classes on campus and we are going to lose more advanced classes next year on campus. I found through surveying students that the majority of those surveyed have showed fifty-one percent of the students poll showed that they wanted more college classes and the other roughly forty-nine percent wanted more electives or other classes. Seventy-two percent of the students said that they would take the classes if they were offered. Seventy percent of the students said they would want BAHS to pay for their college classes on campus. The
I have selected West Brook High because it is the largest public high school in my area, averaging 500 students a class. The school has one of the best academic, athletic and extra-curricular activities program that’s allows students to explore many career fields. 78.6% of the student body continues on to either a two year or four year college after graduation. I will target that percentage of the schools population with the various National Guard educational incentives we offer, such as tuition assistance. 12.7% go immediately into the workforce, from which the training from the National Guard would serve as a benefit to them, allowing these young adults to gain skills otherwise paid for by their pockets. The remaining 8.7% fail to complete their education. Sterling High School, as per their policy, will allow two LRDs (lunch room displays) and one school presentation a month. With roughly 1000 high school seniors and juniors, I intend to deploy other SEVs (school entry vehicles) to reach my targeted audience.
During summer vacation, the Santa Monica-Malibu United School District appointed Dr. Brandon Gallagher as the new principal of Malibu High School.
Due to a major increase in enrollment over the years, Springfield Middle School has had to add multiple portables behind the school to use as various classrooms. The door to the cafeteria has an electronic lock which requires a keycard to enter. If and when a student is called to the office, they leave the classroom with a signed planner and use the classroom key card to enter the school. The security issue here is the student’s easy access to leave school grounds and the possibility a stranger hanging out in the parking lot either taking the child or using the keycard to enter the building. Many visitors still come to the back parking lot even after that has been much discussion about only school building
It’s not everyday that every school in the Palo Verde Unified School District is able to meet their monthly 95 percent goal of having perfect attendance.
This week, Noel and I met with his academic counselor to discuss his 10th-grade-course load and graduation. As of right now, he is on track for university admission. In fact, Noel is currently working towards the scholar and merit designations (something students can earn for going above the standard diploma). Also, his counselor advised us he may qualify for bright futures, depending on his upcoming SAT or ACT scores. She also went over Noel's current grades, which I've attached below, and his GPA. All in all, he's doing very well for just finishing up 9th grade. Most kids only have between 5-7 credits; Noel will have 11 credits before he starts10th grade (they need 24 credits to graduate with a standard diploma).
