I am honored to have been a potential candidate for NHS, and if I am selected to be a member of this esteemed club, I promise to represent the organization as well as the school with Character through Scholarship, Service, and
NHS is an organization made up of students who regularly demonstrate the four pillars of NHS: Character, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service. Saydel’s chapter of NHS should model outstanding service and leadership within our school and community. Doing so will create a positive environment amongst our community members and students. Utilizing my strong leadership abilities, I believe I can help our chapter of NHS flourish. My strength in organization, self-determination, and ability to engage others will make me a great asset to our NHS
If I am selected as a member, I can share my resources and connections to nursing with anyone who is interested. In addition to that, since I only have a few commitments, I can put a lot of time and effort into Delta Epsilon Mu. I would want to help make it as beneficial for future members as it would be for
Being selected as a member of Grove School’s National Honor Society would be a great honor for me because I hope to achieve my goal of exhibiting my dedication to academics, community service and extra circulars. I strive to be a role model and a resource for my peers by guiding them in the right direction. I think I could be a valuable addition to NHS because I have a strong work ethic, have a passion for helping people and not only meet but exceed all the qualifications of leadership, character, service and scholarship.
It is an honor to be considered for NHS. To me NHS is a place where gifted individuals can continue to grow as people and polish their talents. As a past NJHS member, I would like to find myself in NHS.
This organization’s function is to enhance its member’s personal character and academic performance. This club serves as a stepping stone to become a college ready student and advance in experience while giving back to my community. I feel my participation in NHS is vital to prepare myself for college, and strive to pursue my lifelong dream of having an occupation in health care.
The National Honor Society (NHS) is a longstanding nationwide organization that provides students, such as myself, an opportunity to be recognized for their outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, and service. The organization allows for students to excel outside of the classroom through many activities. It provides students, actively involved in the NHS, an opportunity to positively affect the lives of others through the various community service activities that are organized throughout the school year. The NHS will also function as an outlet to network with my fellow peers and teachers who are like-minded in the pursuit of success.
“According to the IOM report, the nursing profession is the largest segment of the nation’s healthcare workforce. Nursing represents the largest sector of the health professions, with more than 3 million registered nurses in the United States.”
Nurses join professional nursing organizations to “have a voice in issues that affect nursing practice and to stay current in their field of specialty” (UC Davis Medical Center, 2016).
It is important for nurses like me to have a professional organization to stay current in my chosen field. Zachary L. J. (2011), mentioned about asking yourself on what step to take to learn in your career path. I am currently an active member of the American Nurses Association. ANA is a professional organization representing the registered nurses. The aim of ANA is to “advance the nursing profession by fostering high standards of nursing practice, promoting the rights of nurses in the workplace, projecting a positive and realistic view of nursing” This association help me personally because it maintains a set of standard and remain updated on the code of Ethics of nurses. Likewise, the organization is a good way for me to stay current
The National Honor Society, or NHS, is a club that strives to recognize “student academic achievement” and promote, express, and act “on the four pillars: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character” according to the Leigh High School website. Members of the nationwide club must apply, have a GPA of 3.5 or above, and at Leigh, tutor their peers. The daily bulletin, announced in tutorial, has recently been reminding Leigh students of the new change, saying “Come down to Homework Center in Rm. 48 after school and get help from NHS tutors.” While the club is not new to Leigh, the 1 on 1 tutor program is.
National Honors Society as a whole was a concept I had been keen to ever since I was young, even before my high school school years. I had witnessed through the mainstream media that being a member of NHS was a profound achievement; it was only obtained by the brightest and most intelligent individuals and I could not wait to wear that honorary badge of honor. The junior year of my high school career marked the year I was finally granted membership. Compared to most of the other members, I was quite the late
The National League for Nursing (NLN) is guided by four core values; caring, integrity, diversity and excellence (National League of Nursing, n.d.). Initially the NLN was called the American Society of Superintendents of Training Schools for Nurses (Matthews, J., 2012, n.p.). Though smaller in membership than the ANA, the NLN has existed for over 100 years and boasts forty thousand members. The NLN mission is to advance the quality of education for nursing in order to enhance health not only for the country, but also the world. The organization represents educators as well as nurses. Membership opens the doors to testing services, research grants, and professional development through continuing education webinars, conferences and
Honor societies are a privilege and serve as distinguished symbols of merit and leadership. Each forms a group of hardworking individuals that share similar passions and encourage each other to be their best self. I want to join Mu Alpha Theta to cultivate my understanding and interest in mathematics. It is present everywhere in our world today and serves as the basis for many scientific fields. The history of it, from the ancient Egyptian pyramids to amazing Greek formulas, fascinates me, so I would love to share my interest with others.
Goal: The goal is to connect to global scholars to advance nursing worldwide. (Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, 2016).
