Should movie theaters be worried that Netflix is stealing their audience? With 50 million subscribers worldwide, Netflix is giving movie theaters a run for their money. With easy access, many subscribers are able to reach Netflix right in their natural habitat: sitting in the comfort of their home in front of their TVs.
Netflix gains thousands of subscribers every year, compared to where it was a few years ago, many theaters believe that movies available to stream at home is a big threat. Home media has changed drastically over the decades, there are no more video rental shops, thanks to how much technology and the Internet have improved over the past few years. Throughout most of our lives, we have accepted the fact that whenever a movie comes out, the only way to watch it is through theater first. With the innovation of Netflix, we are able to experience entertainment in a different way.
Having to plan on whether or not to see a film in theaters has always been a hassle for movie-goers all the time. Today, movie theaters aren't always the most tempting choice with all the obstacles …show more content…

And who would want to deal with screaming babies, cell phone ringing, chair kicking neighbors, etc.? Even though you have to wait for new releases on Netflix, there's no waiting in lines, and you have the right to eat whatever you want whenever you'd like during your movie.
Although the debate of whether or not going to the movie theaters rather than staying home and watching Netflix is still in question, unequivocally the answer is yes. While having Netflix has been a blessing to the antisocial community, nothing on your home TV screen or laptop screen will compare to an 80 ft. movie screen and hundreds of speakers.
