Some think that kids should get involved in sports, but others think that sports are not safe and have a lot of consequences. I believe, kids should not play sports. I think this because they have many risks for injury, they are too competitive, and it is too expensive.
To begin, sports are very dangerous, especially to kids. Conclusions are the most common injury in contact sports, like football and soccer. Not all sports are contact sports, and there is only a small chance that a kid can get hurt in a non-contact sport. But, most kids do play contact sports, not sports that have no contact like golf or track and field. Football and soccer are the most popular sports among young adults, says a study from Huffpost. (Cox, 2014) Sports like

Some of these consequences involve loss of vision, or memory, dizziness, or loss of blood flow to the brain. These are much more significant for children, because their brains and the rest of their bodies are still growing and developing. Any one of these injuries could impact the rest of their life. That is one reason why kids should not play sports.
The second reason that kids should not play sports is that, sports are getting too competitive. There is a lot of pressure on kids to win and do well in their sports. In the past, sports were for fun and not competitive. Jacqueline Stenson, a concussion journalist said; “Kids with a strong internal drive may thrive on the competition. But the pressure can be too much for others, particularly grade-schoolers who aren't as equipped to deal with the stress as older athletes.” (Stenson, 2004) This suggests that now sports are so big in our community, it can be very stressful. Professional sports offer very high paying jobs, adding more pressure to young players. This pressure can be put on you by your family wanting you to
1. The ratification of the 13th amendment to the U.S. constitution marked a historical achievement for the freedom of African slaves in America. Even with this amendment freed slaves, especially in the south, endured many hardships. Many freed slaves in the south still dealt with horrific conditions that existed during the Civil War. Also, slavery by another name was introduced by the state level with legal and prison systems leasing black convicts to corporations for work. Lastly, Africans received much backlash from their white counterparts with many different acts of violence occurring because of this new amendment. The passing of the 13th amendment can be seen as just paperwork, and the true nature of this country can still be seen
I believe that all students that is currently attending a high school should play at least one sport a year. I believe that because kids today are so occupied on their phone, and other apps that they do not go outside and play. So you’re probably thinking why should kids play a sport well i’m here to tell you why. They should play all least one sport a year so they can actually go and get some exercise instead of being on their phones texting, or play a dumb game. I also think that all students should play at least one sport because it will help build character that would help them in their future. Another reason a student should play at least on sport because their coaches will teach them how to become a young man/weman. A sport will teach
Any child who participates in sports only raises the likelihood that they will suffer one of these injuries. The most deadly and life altering injury children can are concussions. Concussions are a part of all sports and are unavoidable. Many children are young and may not be able to recognize if they have suffered a concussion or not. This is extremely dangerous because any physical activity is unhealthy when trying to heal the brain and if they get another concussion, it can have be life changing for the child “A second concussion soon after the first one does not have to be very strong for its effects to be permanently disabling or deadly.”(“concussion”). Because of how easily a concussion could go unnoticed in young children it leads as the most deadly injury from sports. Some children may even lie about how they feel knowing that if they do have a concussion they won't be able to play their sport for a few weeks at least. For how dangerous and deadly of an injury, concussion are they are very prevalent in contact sports “the likelihood of suffering a concussion while playing a contact sport is estimated to be as high as 19 percent per year of play”(“concussion”). That means if your child participates in a contact sport for more than 5 years they will most likely suffer at least one concussion if not more. Concussions are a huge danger to any child participating in sports and no sport will be able to give back what a conclusion could take away from your child's
There are many risks to playing sports but the biggest one is injuries. In invasion games like lacrosse and soccer you risk being pushed, tackled, kicked, and other physical “attacks”. In other games like tennis you can get hurt from a fracture or sprain. In almost every sport you could be injured.
Young children having major physical injuries while participating in sports should be of more concern. In the article High School Football Comes With a Risk, by Jeffrey Perkel it states that, “...boys aged 10 to 14 we’re most likely to end up in the nation’s emergency departments with a traumatic brain injury…,” This shows how adolescents are unnecessarily hurting themselves because of these sports. Expectedly, during the 2005-2006 US high school football season an , estimate of 517, 726 injuries were submitted to the RIO. Even my own personal experiences with sports all ended in tragic faults. Swimming with
One of the strongest weapons of World War 1 was not the nuclear bomb or even the hydrogen bomb, but propaganda. The media reproduced atrocity propaganda, which was very powerful in World War 1. This propaganda used visuals depicting atrocities the enemy had committed in a biased and unfiltered way to ensure public hatred in their respective nations. Television was another reincarnation of propaganda that was used to sway public opinion. After the end of World War 2 media coverage the war proposed the enemy as a threat to national security which inflated domestic fear of imminent destruction.
First of all, football causes injuries that can lead to permanent brain damage which has the potential of affecting the person's entire life. Kim Gorgen, a neuropsychologist which gave a speech at TED Talk stating that, “High schooler playing contact sports are 3x more likely to have a serious concussion, life threatening injuries compared to college students and adults”. This means that children have a higher likelihood of receiving injuries while playing contact sports such as football. Due to the heavily physicality of the sport of

A lot of parents think that sports are too hard and too physical for teens and children, but sports are, actually, the best thing that will happen to these minors. Sports are a huge influence on children and teenagers, because participating in sports can actually influence the future of young men and women of today's generation. For the children and teenagers that start to play at a young age, sports can help children develop physical skills and learn how to work as a part of a team.
Could you imagine not having the option of playing sports when you were a kid? Although some people believe concussions would be lowered if children under the age of 16 did not play sports, the school district shouldn't ban sports because children's mental, physical, and social health are improved.
Sports are a fun thing for kids, they play them all the time, but sports aren't always what they’re cracked up to be. Parents can get to involved and pressure there kids, kids that want to play professional sports can be let down when they don't get drafted. People say that sports start friendships but what's that worth if you can't remember them. Sports aren't good for kids.
First of all, sports could make kids healthy. According to the article “Sports Activity and Children” by The Aspen Institute stated, “A wide-ranging study and analysis of existing research found that free-time physical activity is associated with reduced risk of 13 different types of cancer. (National Institutes of Health, 2016).” In fact, even do that there is a lot of kids that have cancer, sports could help make sure you don’t even get cancer. Also, the text also says, “Adolescents who play sports are eight times as likely to be active at age 24 as adolescents who do not play sports (Sports Participation as Predictors of Participation in Sports and Physical Fitness Activities in Young Adulthood, Perkins, 2004).” Although, when you get older, you get kinda lazy when you grow up, sports could help your body in the future. Even though that when kids get very old,
The first reason that kids should not play competitive sports is that they are stressful. Kids who play competitive sports often experience stress from wanting the recognition involved with winning. According to LiveStrong, “The mounting pressure to play well can increase stress and make children feel bad and lose confidence should they make mistakes or lose” (Huggins 2017). This shows that kids want to win and be the best player on the team, which can result in stress or pressure. When kids are put on the bench or the team loses, the players may experience low self-esteem. Also, participating in a competitive sport also takes up time because of the intense training schedule that is demanded. Because of that, kids may stress about schoolwork or other activities. This can develop failing grades or other consequences. Time.com states, “Student-athletes tend to take easier classes and get lower grades than non-athletes” (Square 2015). This is important to notice because the intense schedules that the athletes have may not allow enough time for schoolwork. The schoolwork may not be completed or fully understood, which can lead to lower academic excellence and poor grades. Competitive sports are unhealthy to kids’ minds. They can cause stress and pressure, and may lead to poor grades and other academic issues.
One of the biggest issues in dangerous sports is that it cause many minor/major effects to the brain. Wake Forest Baptist Health, Dr. Alexander K. Powers estimates that, “Each year U.S. emergency departments treat an estimated 135,000 children ages 5 to 18 for sports-related brain injuries.” Dr. Alexander K. Powers also reported, “Repeated concussions could put a child at risk for such crippling conditions as early onset
Sports may not be all that good for children. Some people might say that sports can cause injury, children won’t get a chance to play if they are not very good, or children may be made fun of for lacking skill in that particular sport. I believe that participating in sports has a much more positive impact on children. Sports can help children’s health approve, help them develop new friends, and can help improve the children’s self confidence.
