Although most teens and adults like to go out and have the time of their lives, they need to have a curfew to get the sufficient amount of rest they need. Curfews our very important for people in their teenage years because they need the rest to exceed in school the next day. First and foremost, teens and adults have a bad habit of getting home late because they have been out partying. It is most important for teens to get the amount of sleep they need to exceed in school and other activities they plan on participating the next day. Many towns have made plans for adults and teens to have a curfew for a time to be off the road at a certain time of night every night. This is something every town should do. In addition, curfews have been in
as one of the cons of curfew laws that it brings out the false sense of security that parents thinks that it will keep them away from trouble but it may not as they can be involved in violence that comes not only by night but anytime, Teens raised under curfew are expected to obey every one of their parent’s decision without argument so they have less of a personality comparing to Teens who are not under curfew and they also might get culture shock making them less adaptable. There are opinions that curfews are unconstitutional because it gives the government the right to interfere with a person’s life and privacy and personal opinions which would affect them badly.
One other reason why curfews keep teens out of trouble is that curfews set by parents are a way of showing that the parents care about the teen. (Boekestein, 2010) suggests that teens actually want to spend time with their parents but do not know how to. A curfew is the brainchild of parents all over the world to make sure that their teen is safe and also to be able to spend quality time with them while they still can. Without the curfew, teens would spend all their time with their friends but miss out on the most important people of all, which are their parents. Although it might not seem that curfews are a way to spend time with the teen, it surely is. According to (Boekestein, 2010), a teen said what all teens were trying to say, which is they don’t care about other things in life, they love their parents and would like to spend more time with them than they normally do. A teen also said that he only talks to his parents in the car or during dinner as their hectic schedule demands the parents to be on their toes all the time.
Curfew is a set time which teenagers will have to schedule their activities around. Generally, this curfew doesn’t change and helps your teen to understand boundaries. It is a wonderful idea for teens to have curfews because it teaches them to be responsible and also considerate of other people around them. As teenagers, it is natural for adolescents to feel like their freedoms are being taken away and that their parents don’t know what is best. However, curfew is put in place for the direct opposite, which is keeping teenagers out of trouble. Curfew teaches teenagers time management, it could lower the crime rate in local areas, and it could give teenagers an overall better relationship with their parents. Because of these reasons, I
Although many people think teenagers should be home by 10, but I think teenagers should have the curfew because they are young adults, they know right from wrong, they should know not to get in trouble.
Many teenagers have a set time they have to be home by their parents. Usually teenagers must be home from dates and nights out with friends by anywhere from 10 o’clock at night to 2 o’clock in the morning. Each parent has extremely different curfews set for their children, based on the individual level of responsibility and trust levels. Some local government decides to set their own curfews, to keep teens off the streets at night and out of trouble. Many people argue whether this actually solves anything, or is even legal to do, since it is taking away a piece of teenager’s freedom. Although there are many good and bad points to enforcing curfews, they should be less enforced because they do not necessarily keep teens out of trouble,
Curfew laws were created to establish respect to the locale affected, timeframe, and sanctions. The law is that minors are to be at their homes or property between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m., with minimal exceptions for weekend nights or the summer. Many curfew regulations provide exemptions for youth who are going to or from school, religious events, or civic sponsored event. Youth traveling from work or responding to emergencies are often excluded from curfew provisions as well. Several regulations allow unrestricted mobility for youth who are married, accompanied by an adult, or traveling with a parent's permission.
Why teens should take more care about them children? A Curfews is some places the don’t let people be outside in 10:pm. Curfews is good because it not let people under 18 outside Barbara Bey, author of “Should Communities Set Teen Curfews?”, and the author of “Curfews: A National Debate,” take different sides to argue whether curfews are good or bad.
Teens driving around late at night, puts them in a calamity type of situation. So curfews, will help them to stay away from drinking, smoking, and missing out on school:"Some people believe curfews help prevent certain types of crimes among young people, especially those involving drugs, violence and gangs" ("Should Everyone" np). In order for teens to stay safe and not get involved the the law curfew is a really impregnable choice. Most children should exalt their parents for trying to keep them
I think there should be a curfew for kids 18 and under I agree with the teen that said it allows less time to get in trouble such as gang, drugs etc. I don't see why any kid or child should be outside or hanging out with friends, or anything else pass 9:30 pm especially on the weekdays. A kid or young adult should be learning about time management and responsibilities I don't agree that it takes freedom away by giving a curfew by 9:30 pm young adult and teens should be showering or doing extra reading or homework and getting ready for school. Me as adult I don't even stay out late or don't even want to because I know I have responsibility I need to do such high as job aND school staying out late could be dangerout so why should we give a chance
It is proven teens get into trouble when they are out past curfew. Criminal activity for teens are more likely to happen later in the evening because parental supervision is not present. A child's teenage life usually involves drugs and alcohol. To interfere with these bad habits the curfew will be put into place. The later they stay out, the more trouble they can get in to. No parent wants to get up late at night to have to pick up their kid for going out and doing something he or she knows they are not supposed to do. A set curfew will prevent teens from participating in disruptive
“Cities should set curfews for kids. By implementing this type of law, local governments are helping teenagers be safe. If teens are outside their homes they are most likely to be victims of violence.” (Scholastic News, Virginia) The teenagers should be mature enough to know that staying out late at night only causes problems. They need to focus more on their priorities in the day and make sure that their community is a safe place to be in during the
The issue of teen curfews is usually a debatable one, considering the amount of controversy surrounding the city of Los Angeles, which has being discussed multiple times. Parents believe that they should force curfews to protect their teens. While teens often presume that their parents are restricting them from freedom. Curfews given by the government are even more arguable because there is no way to find a loop through the law. A few communities are contemplating whether high school students should have a curfew as a law. The law itself would be that it is illegal for any minor under the age of 18 to be upon public streets after the clock strikes 10. It is clear that curfews should be imposed by the government for numerous reasons.
Having a teenage curfew is ineffective and useless. Many people argue that the curfews are necessary because it will keep young people out of trouble. They also say that teenagers are more likely to get in trouble late than they would during daylight. Teens are looked at as the age group that causes the most trouble, and society targets them when it comes to matter for crime, however many people believe that teens are responsible for a large percentage of crimes and that having a curfew in effect will help lower crime rates. I disagree with this because I don't think teenagers should be forced to follow a ridged time schedule because of a curfew.
Just because they have a curfew it doesn’t mean that they aren’t going to get in trouble. It may limit the things they do. Which in turn limits the trouble they get in, but it doesn’t stop them from doing things to get them in trouble. (Wylie Tanton said on April 11, 2012 “I personally think teens shouldn't have a curfew because whether or not they have curfew teens still get themselves into trouble, not only during the night. http://www.collegenet.com/elect/app/app?service=external/Forum&sp=42891)
Now that violence is reduced within a family, parents should put the curfew instead of 11 PM sharp for example, 10:30-11:00 PM, it gives teens more time and space to come back home. It will help them take the responsibility of coming back home on time and not being delayed although the chance of dilation is big for that anything
