Should Confederate Flag Be Banned

One of my favorite quotes from a knowledgeable former President John F. Kennedy “ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country”. Which leads me into the Confederate Flag, back in 1861 William Porcher Miles designed the Confederate Flag as the national, butt was rejected, and instead it was adopted as a battle flag by the Army of Northern Virginia under General Robert E. Lee. Confederate Flag or also known as Rebel Flag, stands for southern pride or racism. When did it become a southern pride flag versus a racism flag instead of a battle flag? Who made it this way, and why should it be taken down.

The Civil War was a big part of our history which had two opposing sides The North and The South. The South flew a flag know as the Confederate Flag which has lately took the meaning of racist. T.V shows containing the flag have been taken of the air along with flag companies claiming that they are no longer going to manufacture the Confederate Flag and major stores including Wal-Mart claiming they are no longer going to sell merchandise containing the flag. The Confederate Flag is a part of our history and heritage and should be allowed to displayed where pleases or shown on T.V with out people getting upset and thinking that it is racist.

I personaly believe that students should be allowed to display the confederate flag in school. Living my whole life in the South I have never seen the flag as being racicist.
