The person who I consider to be a hero is my mom, FBI Special Agent Jill Stillman. She is more than a typical mom because she protects and serves our country everyday, but first makes sure to be up at 6:00am to wake me and my brother up so we can dress, eat breakfast and get to the bus stop. Edward Paul Myers was born September 10, 1911. He lived I Hawesville, WV and also in Kingwood, WV. He was the son of, Father Frank henry Myers and mother Bertha Mae Myers. Edward was in World War II and worked as the cook in the KP (Kitchen Patrol). He was a Private in the Kitchen Patrol. He went over to Germany on a boat and then after when he came back he was on a boat. After he came back from the war Edward worked in the coal mines. His first wife was Rube Iren Myers, Rube died when their first Daughter, Mildred Iren Myers, was 11 days old so Edward had to raise her by himself. Shawn Lamb has confessed to the manslaughter of two aboriginal women, Lorna Blacksmith, and Carolyn Sinclair. In both cases he killed the women while under the influence of cocaine and claims to have killed them both because they stole the drugs and hid from him. Cathy Gernack, also known as my mom, is my hero because she satisfies many of the heroic qualities we discussed in class. She is brave, giving, and determined on a daily basis. She is currently employed as an Intensive Care Neonatal Nurse at Kaiser Permanente here in San Leandro. She was born and raised in Alberta, Canada. After she graduated from High School, she attended the University of Alberta and received her bachelor’s degree. In 1999, she was given an offer to move to Hawaii where she would be working at the Kaiser Permanente hospital in Honolulu. She graciously accepted the offer and brought my dad along with her as they started a new life in another country. On August, 26th 2000, I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. In 2002, my mom, my dad, and I moved to Boise, Idaho where my little brother was born. When I was four, we all moved here to San Leandro and have lived here ever since.

My personal Michigan hero is a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and daughter. Her family is everything to her, and she has shown them to live life to the fullest, to follow God, and to be a role model. Moreover, hard work has never defeated her, and she has shown courage in all that she does. Not to mention, the love between us is like a sunny day, but shines even greater than the sun.

Douglas L. Bieker is a perfect example of someone who i consider a hero. he provide more than enough for his family to give all of his kids an even chance at life, no matter their path. he donates his own blood every chance he can get. and he volunteers at the local fire station.

My Michigan hero is not just a hero but is my grandma, she was always there for me through my ups and downs. Every day after school are used to go to her house, she would have Mack and cheese waiting for me on a little SpongeBob plate in front of the TV with SpongeBob on the TV. She was like my other half whenever I needed her the most she was there. She used to go shopping with me and my mom all the time and take us out for lunch. I alway imagined her being there with me all my life but that all changed. Just a couple years ago she had passed away and that was the hardest day of my life. My grandmother, Bettye Morris, truly resembles a hero because she never gave up. Two summers ago, she was diagnosed with cancer and had to endure many treatments. Sadly, she lost the battle, but that does not mean she did not put up a fight. She went through countless treatments of radiation and chemotherapy. Even when she was tired and did not feel like going on, she fought back and proved doctors wrong many times. She lived longer than anybody thought she would. She will forever live on as a legacy in my family because of how determined she was and how she never gave up.

Anyone who influences anyone else by saving or helping save his or her lives can be a hero. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. changed the lives of millions of people by bringing justice to minorities. Mahatma Gandhi, one of the greatest heroes, led a nonviolent revolution to free his country. Even a parent can be a hero to his or her child by leading them in the right direction. All teachers are heroes when they make it their job to teach a child anything that will help them in life. You don’t have to go to great lengths by risking your life to make a difference in someone else’s life.

Heroes are not always people who lead marches or do things for their country. For example policemen, firefighters, nurses, lifeguards etc. are heroes everyday because they take the time to save lives. When they’re going through a challenge or trying to overcome a conflict they always have courage. These people risk their own life to save someone else’s. To be more specific Dr. Ginger Holt from Dallas had saved a little boy’s leg. She was confident and determined to finding out what went wrong in the boy’s leg and went through many procedures looking at the tests.

My mom has been through a lot with me she got me healthy even if she was sick during the time I was a baby, She has helped me with my reading and writing disability and has pushed me to do my best. She is a strong confident woman that is loving she loves to attend to people and has a great smile. She has shown me that even if times are hard you have to bring your head up and raise it high. I maybe a mama’s boy but my mom is one of my greatest role models and people I admire.
