After Dmitri, brought me home we decided to watch a movie I left him to surf Netflix while I grabbed us some snacks. I've been getting calls from a private number for a few days now, but I don't answer private calls. After I popped popcorn and grabbed some drinks I headed back to Dmitri and he had chosen the tv series Criminal Minds, I loved that show Shamar Moore’s so dam fine I'd watch the show if it wasn't good. My phone rung so many times while we were watching the show that I finally answered, “Please don't hang up, just listen, I can explain,” as soon as I heard his voice I went off, “get the fuck off of my phone stop calling me, I blocked your number because I don't want to talk to you. You keep calling me private like a bitch. You …show more content…

When she looked at me she said, “dam sis you look flawless,” I hugged her “so do you.” Her cocky ass said, “you know we're the baddest bitches in the world. These other bitches ain't loyal and fine we got their asses beat,” I laughed and told her, “dam right”. We headed downstairs just as my doorbell rang, it was King and he had a bouquet of purple roses for Shanice, me and her exchanged a look because we were both so proud of King stepping up, “You ladies look great and dam baby you killing that shit, Pinky your fast ass needs to go put on some jeans and a coat, you ain't that grown. I'm glad I'm strapped tonight,” she laughed and thanked him for the flowers, he kissed her, “I can't let Jock’s big emotional ass out do me anyway,” I told him, “watch what you say about my baby now I don't play that.” We laughed and joked for a few more minutes until Dmitri rung my doorbell, Kings childish ass ran to open the door and I just shook my head when he said, “Oh, Jock these are so cute but you shouldn't have,” I popped him in the back of his head and asked Shanice, “could you please get your crazy man.” She came to the door laughing and dragged his laughing ass back to the living

In the book The Other Wes Moore, one boy who shared the same name as another, who beared the same marks of a rough and racially uncultured childhood, who both had tragic losses in their families, investigate how they somehow ended up on completely different paths. Wes Moore, who starts in a rough neighborhood, grows up to be a distinguished and credible figure for politics and military leadership, being a college graduate from Harvard, a special assistant to the Secretary of State for a year, and also earning the right to be the first african-american to be awarded the Rhodes Scholarship. The other Wes Moore, who lived mere blocks away, grew up in the same rough neighborhood, but over his years he was incarcerated and jailed numerous times, his most extreme accusation having been attempted murder.
While Wes Moore (author) was preparing for Oxford and having his story illuminated in the Baltimore Sun, the other Wes Moore was arrested for robbery, along with his brother, and was charged with murder; they would most likely receive the death penalty. Because Wes (author) couldn’t shake the story and a feeling of connection with the other Wes Moore, he wrote a letter to him. The imprisoned Wes Moore wrote back, and so began a correspondence. While spending time with Wes, the author discovered that “ generation of young men, boys who came of age during a historically chaotic and violent time and emerged to succeed and fail in unprecedented ways”
After some back and forth problems, Sandy and Danny finally dated, but at the school dance, Sandy got another blow to her self-esteem. She and Danny were having a great time dancing, they were even the stars of the dance, when Danny’s ex-girlfriend Cha-Cha slid in and moved Sandy out of the way. Cha-Cha was beautiful, dressed provocatively and was a great dancer. Instead of following Sandy, Danny continued to dance with Cha-Cha and they won the dance contest. Since they won the dance contest, they had to slow dance together. Sandy stormed out of the dance angry, hurt and jealous of Cha-Cha.
In The Other Wes Moore, the author expresses the striking similarities between him and another man with the same name. The two men are so similar, in fact, that there are very few elements of their lives that set them apart, such as their family histories and personal choices. In writing his book, the author has several target audiences in mind, from young black men to young adults pursuing higher education and people in positions of power. Despite his multiple target audiences, the author has one overall purpose for his book: to show what happens when a person full of potential gives up hope. The story also goes further, showing the importance of both family history and personal choice in the shaping of a person’s future.
The book I read was called, “The Other Wes Moore” by Wes Moore. Some of the other books that he has written are “This Way Home”, “The Maker”, and “Forcefully Advancing: The Last Hope for America & American Christianity”. This book is a memoir. The definition of a memoir is that it is a written novel based on the author’s experience and perspective. A memoir usually includes an experience the author had felt. In this story, I became aware of the fact that there are two boys with the same name but different fates, which symbolizes different identities. This story takes place in Baltimore, Maryland, which is where the two boys grew up.
“Oh, there you are” her mother would reply Jordan would giggle, then run back out the back door with no shoes on. For a few days Jordan came inside the house limping on one foot, crying to her mother, “Mommy, I got cactus stuck in my foot” her mother would sit there with tweezers, pulling out each spine from the heel of her foot Jordan flinching each time she yanked one out. As soon as her mother was done, she'd look at her mother thankful she could help her, but still a tear still rolled down her face onto the floor from the surging pain now in her foot. Her mother would look at her in the eyes and repeat “You better learn how to wear your shoes” Jordan would nod, then limp off to her room to take a nap. One day, Jordan opened her eyes, she looked out the door and found her mother to be in the yard digging up cactus in the yard. Jordan made sure to put on some shoes and ran outside hiding around the corner of the house. Her mother saw her peeking around the corner of her house and said “Jordan, do you want to come help me?” Jordan smiled disappearing back around the house. She ran around the other side of the house trying to make her mother to jump. Kristina would giggle and say “Get over here you little turd” Jordan would run up to her mother, hug her, then look up at her saying “I love you mom” as her mother looked down
So anyway, as the party wound down, the rowdier the guys in the house became. Marie was making out with her boyfriend all night, and finally towards the end they decided to fuck. They came over to where I was and struck up a conversation. Marie said to her boyfriend, “This is Emilia. She is the reason I have an A in English.” She ran her hand across my face and said, “She’s so pure and innocent.” She leaned down and looked me in the eyes and said in the most sickening condescending tone, “Do you want to see how a woman makes love to a man?”
April Walker was a new student at St. Nicolau High School and so far it has not been what she had expected it to be. When she first met her teacher Mrs. Johnson she embarrassed herself to her and the whole class by slipping on the wet part of the floor. Everyone started laughing, April also laughed with them trying to fit in with what the class is doing. When it was time for lunch she sat alone while others were gossiping about her and how she goofed up on her first try. Mrs. Johnson sat down next to April. “I know that it's hard to fit in on the first few days or so but- trust me and our class, and they’ll come to you sooner or later”. That cheered up April, when she walked back home with her brother Henry , he felt dizzy and very weak. His eyes also looked very drowsy. “ Are you ok”? April asked .“Huh”? Henry answered. Henry felt cramps and bruises forming on his back. Henry felt straight to the ground. “Henry, Henry, Henry”! “Help”! When April’s dad was driving by he noticed April crying for help and Henry straight on the floor. He parked and ran straight at them. “Guys, what happened”? While April explained what happened April’s dad was driving to the hospital. “I hope we’re not too late for Henry”! April said while crying sadly. When they arrived the doctor took notes and examined his body. The doctor found out he needed a severe surgery that will be on his lifeline. When they were waiting April’s mom showed up with a couple of tears rushing down like a streamline through her face. “ What
When we got to the studio, the girls ran in. Kimmie went straight to Jenna while Addison went to Val. I went over and talked with Val and Addison for a little bit until Jenna came over with Kimmie. “Why didn’t you come find me? Why didn’t you fight for me?” She asked, wiping my tears and letting her tears fall down her face until I wiped them again. “I did try, I tried every damn day up until my mother made me leave to go to college. I tried fighting for you but he, he threatened me, I sold my drum set’s for you. All four of them.” I whispered and she hugged me. “Alright, I need to go talk to my boss about letting me get the rest of the day off and having somebody serve us.” She said and she kissed me one more time. “Oooohhh I think they’re getting back togetherr” Caum sang and she replied with “Shut it asian boy.” and with that she went into a room and left Calum in a bad mood for the rest of the time we were
I woke up to see Nyle and Lucy signing to each other. "Good morning loves," I signed. "Morning babe," Nyle replied kissing me. "We have to go meet my partner today," I signed. "Momma I go with you?" Lucy asked. "Yes love bug," I replied,"let's go get dressed." I took Lucy to her room and changed her into a dress with a white to and black and yellow bottom. "Momma I don't want to wear this," Lucy whined. "You're already dressed and we're running late," I said as I slid in a yellow headband. "No momma!" She yelled. "You better fix that attitude or you can go stay home with Uncle Maks," I said. She just rolled her eyes. "I saw that," I said walking out. I went to my room and got ready. Then I got Lucy and we headed out. We drove for
