Francisco Vasquez de Coronado was he a hero or a villain? I would say a villain. He set out to find a city of gold and riches. He soon found out that there wasn’t a city of gold. Instead he found something else. He found new villages and land, also new historical lands.
Senator Dennis Chavez was born on April 8, 1888 in the community of Los Chévez. He
Latino’s haven’t always had it easy in America, some were luckier than others. Hector Garcia growing up was one of the lucky ones. His parents were educators but their credentials were denied. They resorted to teaching their kids inside the home. The Garcia kids were pushed by their parents to become doctors, so they could have a better future. Hector Garcia graduated from the University of Texas and did his residency in Omaha, Nebraska. Garcia volunteered as a infantry officer during world war two, but was denied to practice medicine while in the army. He was eventually able to serve as a medical corps officer before he was dismissed

When Vargas died in 1705 after repossessing the governorship in 1703, he was succeeded by Governor Francisco Cuervo y Valdes. Governor Cuervo y Valdes campaigned for a more militant approach against the indigenous tribes, predominantly the Navajos, whose troublesome acts were thought to be influencing the Pueblos to resist the Spanish’s reoccupation. Cuervo in June 1705 launched successive offensive attacks against the Gila Apaches, coming back to the Navajos, who were stealing cattle from settlers and missionaries. Cuervo stated that the Navajos were troublesome because of the “continuous wars that they have carried on from the conquest of this kingdom [1598] until the general uprising of the year 1680 and which they have continued from
Congressman Ruiz serves under the southeastern area of the 36th district of California. The district is located near two small towns called Hemet and Blythe California. The issue of access to state of the art hospitals and facilities would be high on the list of concerns for people living in this area. Small towns like these do not have the funding as the bigger districts. The less people living in the area, the less money is allocated to that district.
Senator Hancock represents Texas Senate District 9. Hancock is a Republican who has been a Senate Member since 2013 after being elected in 2012. His interest include “voter identification legislation, pro-life legislation, eminent domain legislation, immigration reform legislation, and state sovereignty legislation” (Senator Kelly Hancock: District 9). He also advocates for the “core conservative values of “limited government, lower taxes, and strong family values” (Senator Kelly Hancock: District 9). Hancock is also a dedicated supporter of the education system, which led him to serve on the “Birdville ISD School Board” for 13 years (Senator Kelly Hancock: District 9). During the 84th Session, Hancock was Chair of the Administration Committee, and a member of the “Finance” Committee, the “Governmental Facilities, Select” Committee, the “Natural Resources & Economic Development” Committee, and he “Transportation” Committee(Senator Kelly Hancock: District 9). I also found it interesting that he is a licensed pilot. Though he isn’t a Texas native, he has been very active around the community. However, his voting record on many issues in Texas are problematic. It is disturbing that he supported bills like HB 15. This bill requires women to view sonograms before getting an abortion SB 14 is another bill that is alarming to many Texans. The base of this bill would require ID verification when voting. Bills like these and several others restrict Texans ability to participate in the voting process, and the “Sonogram Bill” is just another useless and harmful hurdle that women must go through when making the difficult decision to have an abortion. My personal values to no align with those of Representative Frullo, therefore I would not vote to re-elect Rep. Frullo. Though he has done good in regards to combating abuse of children and strengthening law enforcement, his stance on social issues is a big red flag for

As a decorated combat veteran, having served 11 years, his stance on veterans and their health services upon returning from combat has a lot of credibility. Focusing on the care and future health of veterans in Texas as well as being critical of over medicating by the VA could earn him votes from the 64,000 veterans in this district. According to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs about a third of this population is 65+; meaning that they are more likely to vote but in order to GOTV they will need paid media, likely in the form of mail pieces and broadcast television.

With such a huge population and varying interests, there are many representatives to help voice the majority concerns and interests within the state. These representatives hold office in varying levels of government such as local, state, and national government positions. My permanent home is in Keller, Texas, and I am represented at all three levels of government. My local government consists of six city council members who all represent the city of Keller. The council consists of members: Debbie Bryan, Gary Reaves, Tom Cawthra, Bill Dodge, Bill Hodnett, and Rick Barnes. Further up in the chain of government is Representative Giovanni Capriglione. Representative Capriglione represents me in the state government level in the 98th district. Finally, in the national level of government, republican Congressman Michael C. Burgess represents me. Congressmen Burgess represents congressional district 26. Michael Burgess addresses several needs of the citizens of the 26th district and has taken certain stances on a variety of issues and topics.
