I am writing to you today because I believe that I deserve those ten extra points on my semester grade average, and not just cause I wanna pick up my grade even more although it is true but because I believe that I have put effort on the work, I am starting to understand what I am learning, and somethings I can do to improve my work in class that will help me get a better grade.
I believe that I have put some effort in the work that I do because some of the stuff we do isn’t easy sometimes it could be hard, or just confusing although you could have an argument against what I have to say and I know that there are times where I don’t turn in the work or perhaps haven’t even completed it. Although if by the next time I should be more prepared for these things and I

I won’t be able to make any change in my grade if I don’t keep trying, and doing the work the day we get it. If by then nothing has changed then maybe perhaps I could get a one day in advance about what we are going to be doing so that I can try and write something so when the day comes I can get started on writing right away. I personally believe that there are some students that will walk in the classroom with nothing written and will just sit there staring at a blank page on the screen or paper. I believe that is I’m one of those students but I atleast try to write something on my paper something that can help me get started and so I won’t sit there not knowing what to do and drawing a blank while others are doing what they are supposed to do. I think that even though I didn’t really come prepared even when the teacher reminded the whole class about it I’m still able to write something.
I should get those ten extra point and so that I can be prepared next time and know what to
Students don’t always know what they are going to write about right away while writing an article or essay, some people just need to give it time. Donald M. Murray claims in his article in “Write Before Writing”, students should be told of the importance of prewriting. To do so students have to understand the write before writing. Murray list 4 strategies in writing, there is Resistance, force, rehearsal for writing, and implications for teaching. “Most writers need time to wait for the ideas to flow into your head for everything to make sense, some people call is procrastination or delay.” (Murray 375) Murray talks about the four pressures that move them forward, by increasing information - when the writer decides on a subject understands the subject they are writing about, increasing
Hello, my name is Susan Stewart. I am a member of the Wheatland High School Grad Night Committee. The committee is comprised of Volunteers who plan and facilitate the Safe and Sober Grad Night event for Wheatland High School graduates. Committee members are meeting with local community businesses and leaders like yourself, to ask if they would be interested in supporting an event aimed at keeping our local teens safe on such a celebratory night.
Writing is a process, not just a final product. “All good writers write” shitty first drafts (LaMott 221). The first try for most things is not perfect, but there is almost always something to be taken from it; to be learned. Students are driven by result, where final grades determine success. By doing so, often times students miss the point of education.
You’ve made it to your last year at Imagine Avondale, and it’s going to go by fast. The eighth grade is important for when High Schools you will apply for will look at your GPA, grade point average, to see whether or not to accept you. Good grades can get you to the high school you want to go to, and I’m going to tell you how I made it through the eighth grade successfully. Don’t overwork yourself either, it’s your last year with some of your classmates, so enjoy it while it lasts. The first class I am going to talk about is Civics with Mr.Gebbie.
Introduction: What do you imagine when you think of a spring break vacation? Probably some fancy tropical island or a nice cruise that will suck your wallet dry. I’m going to tell you about an affordable get away that will leave you richer for less. Millions of people go on vacation for spring break every year.
In the speech “Remarks by the President in a National Address to America’s Schoolchildren” by Barack Obama, he encourages students to try hard in school because education will further their success in the future. President Obama uses the reasoning that with education students will have responsibility just like those around them to achieve high standards. Students must also try hard in school to get their work completed and not give up on their education and make going to college a goal of theirs. Students need to have responsibility, try hard on their education, and be aware that they have many educational opportunities.

The first step to being successful, no matter what you’re trying to succeed, is to recognize your weak points, your strengths, and your limits. I myself know that I have several, and when I say several, I mean several, weak points when it comes to writing papers. The first and most lethal to a student who wishes to be well, is procrastination. I will always put writing a paper off till the last minute. In fact, I’m doing it right now as I’m writing this. I’m already doing what I say I’m not supposed to be doing. You can probably tell that I’m off to a great start. The next on the list of things that will brutally murder a student who wishes to do well in a class are distractions. Of course there is a multitude of things that can distract
I am writing to you in hopes that you will add an extra ten points to my semester grade. I strongly believe that I deserve these extra points, for putting my hard work and effort into this first semester. With all the different assignments and short amount of time you have given my classmates and I, most of us tend to or try to turn it in on time maybe a little later depending on the assign work.
My year involved in Global Connect has taught me that the world has many more issues than the common ones discussed in media. I have been able to determine which issues over others I feel most passionate about, and that I can have a sustainable career while helping others better their lives. The two issues I personally feel most attached to are gender inequality and access to education. Being an educated woman in society I believe education has influenced my life for the better, and I want other children and girls to be able to experience the joy of learning instead of being confined to outdated gender roles. Many people simply disregard the gender injustice seen everyday in minute amounts or extreme amounts simply because it
For the past few years I've been in this school I have aspired to do one thing, and one thing only, becoming a class officer. The reason why I've waited until this year is simple, I was never brave enough, or in other words I wasn't ready. However, this past year I've noticed qualities of mine that I have never really noticed before; I’m organized and loud enough to handle our class. Yet organization and tone of voice is not enough, since I am able to promise you this: I want to work for you and for my class, there’s no reason behind it and no reason beyond it.
Thank you for changing my marks in the discussion forum. However, after the change I realised my journal post may have come across as being arrogant and a bit of a whinge about only receiving a 9 when I deserved a 10. This was not the intent of my journal post. I only meant to highlight that I can be a bit highly strung sometimes and that I should appreciate a mark as high as 9 rather than being disappointed I did not achieve perfection. I’m trying to let go a little so I am not adding unnecessarily to the normal day to day stresses of family life.
Albert Einstein wrote, “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
Although many peoples’ most significant memories of college are those outside of the classroom, a degree is not conferred based upon such things. Rather, students’ academic performance is what determines whether students earn a degree or certificate. Academic issues were a point of concern at many institutions as incoming students often struggled with basic skills. Furthermore, international students who needed remedial English were less likely to persist (Mamiseishvili, 2012). There have been numerous issues, obstacles, and challenges that may inhibit a student’s ability to navigate the rigors of college. Much has been discussed concerning improved educational opportunities for minority and underrepresented students in
Attention Step: My parents are among those parents who tell their children that, “education is the most precious treasure I can give you.” Growing up, the value of education has really been instilled among the four of us and almost everything that we need for school is being provided. I saw my parents sacrifices to make sure that we go on with our studies conveniently. Perhaps these are some of the factors why education is so close to my heart and why, as early as now, I want to help or encourage children go to school. It really moves my heart whenever I see people walking miles just to go to school or working part-time job to sustain their education. I admire them for persevering despite the challenges that they face.
