I hope you are doing well. In school, I have improved greatly, and the second marking period has gone better than the first. Soon, I will transfer into the third marking period, and I hope I am prepared for it. Although the first marking period has not gone to plan, I made up for it in the second marking period, and am looking forward to improving more in the third marking period. In English, I have been experiencing more homework than usual, and we are taking extremely important notes that will help me prepare from high school all the way through college. We have been taking spelling tests weekly, and it has improved my spelling dramatically, but I still need to try my best. Also, the vocab from the stories we read in the literature book has expanded my vocabulary greatly, and I will most likely continue to expand my vocabulary. So far, I am satisfied with my English grade, and home to keep it at the same grade throughout the year. In algebra, we will be taking the mid-term exams soon, and will have been preparing for weeks prior. I have been successful in algebra by maintaining my grade at an A. Currently, we are learning about the equation “y=mx+b,” and a am sure I have …show more content…
Currently, it is my worst major class, grade wise. Even though it has been easy for me the past couple years, it became more difficult this year. On the bright side, it has stayed at a B, and has been consistent for the entire second marking period. In science, we are learning about speed, acceleration, and velocity, and it has been the easiest chapter in the book, in my opinion. Also, we are learning about how someone on a plane can not see motion in a person on the plane with them, but a person in the airport can. Mrs. Camilleri said that it is all about the angle that you are looking at the object from. I am not satisfied with my science grade this year, but I still have half of the school year to bring the grade
During this school year so far I have learned many things, including when we researched Summit’s ‘Definite Dozen’ in September and I’m familiar with her life. My note-taking is one of the many skills that was improved in this class, I can copy down words faster and summarize better. I haven’t really changed much, if I did it would be for the worse. If I could go back and redo the past to fix my mistakes, I would so I can be more successful and have a higher grade.
All too often, students tried to memorize the equations and solve the problems by a formula seeking process. In my discussion session, I emphasized the big picture and the physics behind the problems. I recapped the lectures and led group discussions to help the students understand the new material and the connection between the new one and the old ones before solving problems. I also encouraged the students to discuss the problems in groups, so that they could focus more on how to think and solve the problems rather than go through the notes to find the right formula. To help them understand the physics behind the formulas, I pushed them to explain not just what to do, but
There has evidently been a drastic, positive, change in my grades. My spanish grade went from an F to a B+, science from F to a C and Algebra from F to B+, so there has been change. Even though, my grade hasn’t shown evident improvement if you pay attention to my improved work ethic and effort put into quizzes and homework.
The Scottsboro Trials Racism wasted the lives of nine young, black men. In a trial where the only plausible evidence proved their innocence, they were still convicted. They were accused of rape, but all it was was an accusation. There was nothing to back it up.
a. The 12 steps and 12 traditions laid a foundation for the early members of NA struggling with addictive substances other than alcohol.
My ability to write detail have been better as well because of all of the different assignments that we have to do. The student choice assignments have forced me to write descriptive work in a concise manner. That will help me in the future classes like English 103, and my business core courses, because I have been able to write
Also I have improved as a self-directed Lifelong learner. A Self-directed lifelong learner demonstrates a capacity for both independent and collaborate work. They also demonstrate knowledge, respect, and appreciation for diverse cultures and finally they demonstrate time management and organization skills. In my Chicano Studies class I have learned so much about another culture and I have more respect for the Chicano culture. They as a nation have done so much and went through a lot to get to what they are now. I have learned about different painters, musicians, leaders and more. It has really been an interesting class to take this semester and I have been enjoying every single moment of it. Similarly in my Chicano studies class for my portfolio I got to learn more about myself and understand what kind of Pendeja (Stupid) am I. It was really interesting I fell under the category “Optimistic Pendeja” I had to research and read and do a lot but overall it was just a fun portfolio to do. In Chemistry I have really became organized because we are required to keep binders and my teacher checks them every month or so and you have to keep them organized and have to make sure, they are up to date if you want to get a good grade on it, and as a person I am not the most organized person but I have accelerated and grown better at it.
This week in school we learned about nothing much but a new book for English and Maya Notes for cultural geography. The most important thing I learned in Algebra A was how to make the answer they gave me into the problem and that was the answer its confusing. The assignment that I spent most time was the Biology thanksgiving packet now I don't need work to do on the brake but read. I can tell I am learning because I have been trying to do all of my work to get my grades up I don't want to fail.
I have learned how to ask better questions and to talk to my teachers when I need help or do not understand the concept well. I make sure that I have a relationship with my teachers and introduce myself at the beginning of each semester. Learning how to communicate with my teachers
So far this year I have been working on, my academic side of my learning in Rangitoto Quad. I have made progress in my maths, heaps I improved from being 3A to a 4 B or P.I want to keep working on my spelling, as I want to move up and not down. I personally think that I work best when people are more quiet and not so loud, one of my biggest challenges of this year ,was not being in my friends class. I managed to overcome this challenge by meeting new people
I feel I have come a long way my tenth grade year. My writing has gotten so much better and I can write essays of much better quality now. Things have gotten better like punctuation, thesis, and analysis.
As I progressed through my education, my habits slowly improved, eventually earning myself mediocre grades in mathematics and the sciences, which unbeknownst to past me, were heavily mathematically based. By the end of junior year I began to realize the true importance of everything I learned, despite it's perceived relevance at the time. The peak of my efforts culminated in a otherwise fairly average achievement -- a 3 on the AP Physics exam. To some, perhaps even a disappointment -- to me, the smart alec who's eyes were forced wide open to a world that is not forgiving to the lazy, it meant everything. The concepts and mathematics of Physics relied heavily on both knowledge and application of algebra, calculus, and geometrical ideas -- subjects I subjected myself to struggle in. In an attempt to prove to myself that I had the knowledge and mastery of these ideas, a course that was designed to incorporate them all was a true litmus test of my abilities and how far they had progressed to earn myself something only I may be proud
Improvement is a strong word. I do believe this class has better prepared me for Comp 1. Some things I still need to improve upon, like, grammar, and phrasing of my word choice. Writing for me, is an escape, to write as I please. Going on long trips, vampires, and love stories are my favorite to write. My great imagination, is my strength as a writer. Being able to put into words, thoughts, that flow from my fingertips, is an amazing feeling. This class has thought me how to brainstorm ideas, before I begin to write, and that has helped a great deal, in my essay writing. Of course every writer has writers block, and I am no stranger to it. Everything Mrs.Tomas has thought us, has greatly improved my writing ability.
Music Appreciation, I’m doing well right now with a C. I’m doing a lot of extra credits, so I think I’ll come out with an A afterwards. Sociology, I flunked the first exam but I have a amazing Professor who really cares about her students, so I really don’t worry about this class to much. Todd’s class is the most work out of all my classes. I think 70% of my time goes into writing all his essays that he assigns us, but I know it will help me in the long run. College requires students to write tons of essays and Todd is helping us prepare for that. So, I’m thankful for having the opportunity to take his class. History, I have a C+ in that class. If I didn’t take it so early in the morning, I feel like I’ll have a better grade in that class. Every time I’m in that class, I fall asleep and I literally have no clue what we learned today. Biology is hands down the hardest class I have taken so far. I literally need to make time to study more biology, especially because it’s my
The Egyptians saw death as a transitional stage in the progress to a better life in the next world. Each person was thought to have three souls, “ka”, “ba” and “akh”, for these to work properly, it was considered essential for the body to survive intact. When a person died, priests performed prayers to make a last attempt at reviving the deceased. The body was washed and made pure. It was then taken to the embalmer’s workshop. A cut was made in the left side, and all the organs were removed and stored in containers known as canonic jars. They body was then stored with a salt called natron for forty days, after the forty days had passed, the insides were filled with linen, sawdust, resin and natron. The body was then wrapped in bandages. The
