Science fair project
Air pollution is a big problem in our world today because it affects our lives on earth as well as animals and plants. Breathing polluted air can make you very sick it can cause your eyes and nose to burn. It can irritate your throat and even make your breathing difficult. Air pollution is a big environmental problem because it is affecting our crops, trees, wildlife, and lakes/oceans. Pollution is harming fish and other aquatic life in those bodies of water.
The purpose of the science fair project I did was to find out if crystals can be grown chemically. My hypothesis for the project was that I think that it is possible that crystals can be grown from chemicals. The constants and the controls in my experiment are that for the the constants, I waited weeks for each time I did the crystal experiment, which was twice. The controls in the experiment are that when the first crystal failed, I used 10 degrees hotter water than I did the last time.
This year, for my Science Fair Project I plan to do a study on how varying system parameters affect the dynamics of a multi-tank liquid-level hydraulic system. The purpose of this type of system is to maintain a constant fluid flow. In order to maintain this fluid flow the tanks have to preserve a certain liquid level, this necessary level depends on the other variables. My system will consist of: an inflow valve, the tanks, valves to go between the tanks, and an outflow valve.
Cut out a 4-inch construction paper square of each of the following colors: white, yellow, blue, red, and black.
I think that the homemade lipstick is going to be better than the store bought lipstick because you know what you’re putting into your lipstick and there is no added chemicals that can be harmful to you.
Introduction The purpose of my science fair project is to see if plants can survive in a miniature greenhouse setting. I did this project by planting cilantro in two mason jars, and putting a lid on one and not putting a lid on the other. I became interested in this experiment when I grew a flower in a smart water bottle with a closed lid. The information gained from this experiment will help others by know which types of plants grow better in closed bottles, jars, pots.
Air pollution is when there is a presence in the air of a substance that has harmful or poisonous effects. There is air pollution almost everywhere in the world. This is due to industrialization. The world today depends on things that emit hazardous fumes and other hazardous pollutants in the air. Air pollution that is hazardous or toxic can have health risks. Some of these risks range from skin rash, cough and headache to cancer, nervous system damage and birth defects. There are no positive effects of air pollution. Air pollution is also in the form of acid rain. Acid rain pours wherever it’s ready. Acid rain destroys plants, harms animals, fish and other wildlife. Humans aren’t the only ones affected by air pollution everything is affected.
Engineering Project Robert Lauv Period 3 Science Fair Project Research Report Magnification is one of the world's greatest inventions. It made people learn about the creatures that are too small for the human eye to see normally. But sometimes, the image given by magnification is unclear. And here is a solution: colored magnifying lens. Colored glasses lens change the way people see, so why not improvise and add that feature to magnifying glasses? (not saying to create prescription magnifying glasses) One of the most basic tools for magnification is the magnifying glass, invented by Alhazen and used for scientific studies by Roger Bacon. The magnifying glass is a tool used to make things appear bigger. They are made of a convex lenses,
Air pollution causes great damage to the environment. These damages include acid rain, eutrophication, haze, ozone depletion, global climate change, etc. "Acid rain is precipitation containing harmful amounts of nitric and sulfuric acids."Acid
Another big problem in polluting places and things is air pollution which can make air foggy, unbreathable, and toxic. According to “34 Facts about Pollution”, the text states breathing the air in Mumbai, India, for just one day is equivalent to smoking 100 cigarettes. One of the things that can cause air pollution is releasing factory fuels and fossil fuels into the air. We also cause it from burning certain things like plastic, chemicals, and other
My idea was found when I was looking online for science fair project. I wanted to do something with social science. I was browsing online and, saw a study done by a university called “Does hair color affect what people think about you?” It was trying to determine if hair color affected people’s opinion and careers. It was also trying to see of hair had anything to do with bias opinions of others and bullying. I decided this was a really interesting idea and, made it my science fair project topic.
My investigative question is does microwaved water stunt plant growth? I was interested in learning more about this topic because I wanted to know if microwaves can put chemicals in your food causing you to not get all of the nutrients from the food. The purpose of my experiment is to see if water set to a boil on the stove, water set to a boil in the microwave, or water from both the microwave and stove will make plants grow more, also to see if the microwave puts bad chemicals into your food. My independent variable is the type of water used. My dependant variable is the height of the plant. My hypothesis is, if plants are grown with microwaved water then they will not grow as much as plants grown with water heated from the stove.
Growing up I knew one day I would be a part of a science fair. From watching television shows like Arthur, or The Magic School Bus, and reading dozens of books, it was always a dream of mine to be a part of one, and maybe even win. By the time I entered the third grade I was finally old enough to participate in an actual science fair. I titled, my project “Water You Saving?,” it explained how we as a community can save water, because at the time California experienced a massive drought, much like this year. I researched different methods about how people can save water, except the only example I can remember is that 90% of toilets are extremely inefficient and waste gallons of water everyday. My family and I took tours at the Lawrence Berkeley
Air pollution are impacting the environment, and it is imperative that laws are enforced to help build and sustain a better air quality. Air pollutants can be in the form of particulate matter which can be very harmful to our health. Stimulation to our eyes, nose, throat, and breathing infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia are all short-term effects. You’re head might hurt, you might want to puke, and you might have allergic reactions. Short-term air pollution can put people with asthma and emphysema in a worse condition. Long lasting breathing disease, lung cancer, heart disease, and even damage to your brains, nerves, livers, or kidneys are all long-term effects. If you’re exposed to air pollution continuously, it would affect children’s lungs and may complicate medical conditions for the elders. Some people argue and deny the bad air problem. They claim that pollution may actually be good for the Earth. The hazy weather caused by pollution has made plants far more productive when it comes to scrubbing greenhouse gasses out of the air. Pollution has turned plants into better carbon dioxide processing machines. But this is bad for our own health. Pollution is causing global warming which leads to massive ice land melting. Polar bears and other animals that live there are losing there habitats and even dying. Melting ice could also lead to more sea water which would bury some cities or land near the coastal areas. There is already a tremendous amount of people on this planet. If our land decreases, and our population continues to increase, some people would have to start living on another planet; therefore, making it a priority to address the areas
Pollution is caused by people littering, throwing their trash everywhere, wasting energy, and burning fuel from vehicles. Pollution effects all animals and plants from around the world. It can harm them and kill them. Some animals have gone extinct because of pollution, thanks to humans. To be exact, over 11 species of animals have gone extinct because of pollution, Not to mention people have died too! How much? Well, about 6.5 million people have mainly because of respiratory problems (lung cancer caused by air pollution) . Yea, its really bad. Pollution has been around for a long time in the U.S since the mid-19 centuries. It got worse because of the industrial revolution. This caused the air and water to become polluted because of all of the manufacturing factories, which uses coal for their factories and threw their waste
At the first, what is air pollution? The air pollution is contamination of air by the discharge of harmful substances. We’ve got many pollutants, which cause air pollution. Like carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, lead and many more. All of these pollutants can cause lot of illnesses, like cancer, birth defects, brain and nerve damage, long-term injury to the
