The movie A Beautiful Mind is based on a true life story of the genius mathematician John Forbes Nash who suffers from paranoid schizophrenia. At the beginning of the film Nash is a bright smart man at university. His life seems normal as he is working and is a father and a husband. But as the film goes on we discover that many of the places and people and the events that offered were just illusions from him suffering from schizophrenia. If even showed that one of his best friends that seemed so real was just part one of his delusions. The movie A Beautiful Mind create a better understanding of schizophrenia, showing the real symptoms and how serve it can get. Showing people that when a person suffers from schizophrenia is it really hard to determine what is real and what is an illusion. The movie A Beautiful Mind portrays schizophrenia from a patients point of view showing the world a a unique insider perspective as to what it is really like to have schizophrenia. …show more content…

The main character John was experiencing many symptoms and therefore he was diagnosed paranoid schizophrenia. John Forbes Nash has schizophrenic symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions and a distorted perception of reality. John had friends that he would only see, often having conversations with no one that was there, he had auditory and visual hallucinations and delusional thinking. The movie showed how he started to act strange and different. How he started to with drawl from his family and friends and had a hard time connecting with others. He had hallucinations and a hard time distinguish between reality and the state he would enter.
