Last day of Sayville High School 2016
Everyone has times in their life when they have to say goodbye. It’s often extremely difficult especially if they’re saying goodbye to someone they care about. My last day of high school was a very bittersweet day because I knew I had to say goodbye to my favorite teacher, Mr. Hoss. Mr. Hoss was my global history and government teacher. He was a very special teacher and truly cared about his students. He knew that I struggled a lot in his classes and he never gave up on me. He also had what the two of us called “Hoss Power” which would come into action whenever I was feeling stressed out. He always knew how to make me feel better with his kind words. He also gave me a feeling of reassurance because he knew no matter how much school work I had to do, I would get it all done. By the time it got to the last period of the last day of school, most students often wanted to go hang out with their friends, or go home. Spending time with Mr. Hoss was much more important to my sister, Jamie and I.
Prior to the last day of school, we told Mr. Hoss that we wanted to spend our last period of our last day of senior year together. I knew though when the time would come, it would be hard to leave, but I also knew it wouldn’t be the last time I would see him. I remember it

I wanted to make it a day worth remembering and I got my wish. I got to spend the final period of the day, with my favorite teacher. Mr. Hoss was always there for me and he proved to me how much he cared over the years by continuing to have faith. That is something I will never forget about him. All of the happiness he had brought me that day and over the years will always mean so much to me. High school goes by very quick and before you know it, you are graduating. I wanted to make my last day of senior year memorable, and I got exactly what I have
Seventeen year old, Edward Pierce Jr. and best friends, Bobbi Brown and James Farley are nearly done with their last year of school at Pioneer Lake High School. One week before graduation and their descent into the real world, tragedy strikes. James has committed suicide, leaving Edward and Bobbi to pick up the pieces. Could they have prevented their best friend’s death? Are they to blame? Can they handle the loss of a loved one without breaking in half?
Chores in school may seem odd in the America, but it is common in other countries especially Japan. It’s not about finance issues, disciplinary actions, or a chore, it’s a daily task for students to gain more responsibility and respect for their school and educational environment. In Avondale High School, Georgia, Tom Keating, a staff member, noticed how terrible the bathrooms were. There was toilet paper on the ceiling, constant backed-up toilets, writings on walls, and cigarette butts in the sinks. Many students had admitted they would rather hold it in all day than use the filthy school restrooms. Keating saw enough and did something about it. The transformation was slow and gradual, but the worked paid off at the end. With the help of the
Little Rock Central High School was one of many segregated schools in America, where only whites were able to attend. In 1957, nine African-American students enrolled for Little Rock Central High, and were expected to integrate the all-white school. Their enrolment was followed by an outburst and the “Little Rock Crisis”. The nine students, known as the “Little Rock Nine”, were refused from entering the school ground by Orval Faubus. This was undeterred from the rule put in place three years earlier, where the U.S Supreme Court stated that “school segregation was unconstitutional.” Arkansas Governor refused to allow the pupils to desegregate Central High, even dispatching the Arkansas National Guard to keep the students from entering the school.
The road to the historic desegregation of Little Rock Central High school began in the 1930’s when the NAACP tasked future Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall with fighting segregation in schools. By 1950 he had helped to strike down segregation in universities in several states. In 1951, the NAACP aided parents of black children attending public schools in Topeka, Kansas in attempting to overturn the state’s segregation laws. After a three year court battle, the 1954 Supreme Court case Brown v. Board of Education Topeka culminated in the abolishment of school segregation laws in 21 states. (Seeds 1)
Do you think Conroe high school should change there rules. I think conroe should change the hat rule to be able to where it in school.
Being a sophomore at Cypress High School has already taught me much. My first year there I didn't know anyone but I quickly made friends with the friendly students of Cypress High. The teachers at Cypress are super friendly, they create a learning environment an enjoyable place to be. In the beginning of sophomore year AP teachers expose you experience a college environment which helps prepare us to be ready in the future.Being an athlete at Cypress High has taught me many things, some of them being sportsmanship, leadership skills, as well as teamwork. My overall review of Cypress High School is that it's an enjoyable and pleasant place to learn in.
When I attended Oroville High School for my freshman year, there were countless numbers of couples that hungout together, including myself and my ex-boyfriend. There was so much pressure for all of the couples to do things and have sex, especially for our friends that were together, mainly because they were freshman and the peer pressure from all of the upper class men highly effected them. A couple that we hungout with at Oroville High always talked to us about them feeling like they need to and about how they don't know if it's a good idea or not. We always told them to follow their gut and their hearts, do what they feel is right. The main problem was that all of the higher classes always said, "wow dude, you're lame, you're not cool" only
On March 16, 2017 in Rockville, Maryland, a 14-year-old ninth grade girl was raped in her high school bathroom by two illegal immigrants aged 17 and 18 also attending the high school. This has shaken the Maryland community and is raising a lot of questions about student’s safety at school and the state’s immigration policies. This is not an incident that should ever have happened and should never happen again in the future.
Trees are going up, ornaments are being hung, and presents are being placed under the tree, ready to be opened. It’s no lie that the holidays are approaching, as children make their lists for the things they want. For some, however, making a list is not a option, some families will not to be able afford new toys and gadgets for this upcoming holiday, or just everyday essentials. For some, the holidays are a struggle to get families decent gifts. At Northrop High School, students and their families live like this everyday, never being able to afford the essentials due to having little funds.
Conroe High School has many rules. Many are silly and some are actually very important. The one rule I think is silly is being able to get tardies after lunch and it should be changed because some of the Conroe High students eat their lunch in a different room or even a different part of the school, and also the tardies that are possible to get after lunch you can't necessarily get rid of even if it’s because lunch took too long.
1889, that’s when the long history of Columbia City High School starts. Columbia City High School is a very old school with very rich history, but it's time to turn over a new stone. Since this dilapidated school has reached a point when it's become of ill repair and there’s nothing more to do. The numerous problems that plague CCHS are constant. The final straw was pulled, the city has decided to build a new high school within the next three years. This is a large project that current high school students won’t be able to participate in but should still try the help as much as possible.
Honestly ever since I was two years old I have been in water, and learned how to swim at around three. I had not learned anything about swimming in Wheeling High School and I can prove that I did not benefit from the swimming sessions. I had already known survival techniques such as not panicking in water and floating on my back to save energy. I already had common sense of not using drugs because I could drown. I had known that many college students go to Lake Michigan at night and die because they can't see or are drunk. To be honest I knew all of these rules but feel maybe Wheeling high school had re-emphasized all of them. I will try to use these techniques at my pool in Florida and continue to teach others how to swim.
What does school mean to you? Is it about what you learn or what you do? School is getting distracted more and more every year because of the occasions that are being made. The problems with events that have no educational value have a negative impact on Woodlynde. The events such as non-academic field trips, concerts and dodgeball tournaments eliminate the time we could use to learn. They are pointless and not a part of learning for the future. I believe Dr. Fulco and Mr. Shank should replace the non -academic events with actual learning events that teach the students. They can also change the calendar of school. Academics will actually teach the students and prepare them not just for the future, but also what every students wants to achieve.
Today is my final day, May 13th. The day we 've planned and put together for months but it feels like years. Today is the day of fate. I 'm waiting here for Dyrick to pick me up at my house. He told me 8 am and it 's going onto 8:04. Just a few minutes past, no big deal. I didn 't think he would back out on me. He desires this as much as I do. He finally pulled up infront of my driveway and said "Hey lady, get in". I opened the door and hopped right in. I have a worried but determined look on my face. "Don 't worry, Lisey. Everything will be alright. Don 't be afraid." Dyrick assured me. He steered with his left hand and held my left hand with his right. I smiled and helded his hand tighter. We arrived at school and got into Dyrick 's
Almost a year ago I started my first, last day of high school. To some people that may seem like one of the least important days of their life, but for me it made me realize that it was going to be the last year I walked through those doors to attend class, and the last time I stepped out onto the soccer field with my closest friends. As I walked through the double doors that would officially start my last year at USA High School, I looked up and my entire graduating class had their names posted up on the wall, where soon our pennants of the colleges we were going to attend would hang. High school holds some of the happiest memories for some people, from the times they were at Friday night football games with their best friends, or late-night adventures they went on, for me it was being on the soccer team. Throughout my entire high school career, I was happiest out on the field, playing against local schools with the people I have gotten so close to over the years.
