Introduction: Air pollution in modern society is becoming more and more of a pressing issue. I became intrigued when I learned about the level of air quality in places such as Beijing, New York City, and London. I was curious about the air quality in a smaller large scale city such as Savannah, GA. Savannah is a large city but has a smaller population than Atlanta. I also thought about how the air quality could improve after it rains.
PLANNING
Problem: Is the air quality in Savannah better right after it rains or before the rain occurs?
Hypothesis: If rain can remove soluble gases and particles from the atmosphere then the air quality will improve after it rains.
Variables: Dependent Variable: air quality
Independent Variable:

Take a clean milk carton and cut it into four flat, large squares by cutting along the seams.
2. Cut the four larger squares into 12 smaller 3 inch by 3 inch squares.
3. Take the hole-puncher and punch a hole into the corner of each square and tie a piece of string through each hole.
4. Create a data sheet such as the one below. Date Amount of Particles

5. Find a suitable location such as a backyard or open area in the woods.
6. Draw a 1 inch by 1 inch square in the center of the 3 squares. Label the first 3 squares “Square 1” “Square 2” and “Square 3”.
7. Find a place to hang the squares in the desired location. Make sure that there is no rain in the forecast for the next 3-5 days.
8. Spread a small amount Vaseline in the small 1 inch by 1 inch square before you hang them up.
9. Place the 3 squares from a easily accessible place such as a tree or a lamp post.
10. Check on the weather and the squares for the next 3-5 days.
11. After the time is up collect each square and take the magnifying glass to count any visible particles in each square. Record your data in the data table.
12. Create another data table such as the one below. Date Amount of Particles

The First Baptist Church of Savannah, Georgia, was made on November 26, 1800, the first meeting house was built on Franklin Square. The cornerstone of the present church on Chippewa Square was laid on February 2, 1831, and the building was completed in 1833.G This is Savannah's oldest standing house of worship. The sanctuary was enlarged in 1839, improved from time to time, and completely redone in 1921. The most recent renovations were in 1966, 1989-1990, and
I first started making squares and rectangles on a graph paper, and did this in a group of three. Then I started drawing lines at a 45 degree angle, if they hit one of the sides of the wall then I would keep on drawing the lines at a 45 degree angle until the ball would go into one of the pockets. If you wouldn’t keep on drawing lines until
The concept of citizenship and its general approach in different eras by Michael Schudson has been such a topic for debate, given with the notion of how society today tend to define the distinct ideal “citizen” and its origins in America while comparing them to various nations around the world to see how each differs from the other while indicating that an informed citizen in a mass democracy has thus far been insufficient. He gave some examples in an earlier in an American democracy that an informed citizen did not in fact require much in society, with only traits such as loyalty and regularity being the most sought after; elections through education in an effort by “Mugwumps” (a term used to describe Republican political activists who left
Now you should have two pieces of paper that look the same. You want to fold both the pieces in half so you make a crease in the middle. Now you want to take one of your pieces and fold the top right edge down to the middle crease you just made. Then turn it around and once again fold the top edge down to the middle crease. Next take the other half, but this time fold the bottom edge up to the middle crease. Then turn it around and fold the other bottom edge up to the middle crease again. Now you should have to pieces that look like this, where both are going opposite ways. Now you want to take the long ends from each piece and fold them to the middle edge, like this. Then do the same on the other piece. You should now have a square shape on the top and bottom of each piece. Next you take the top outside corner and fold it down to opposite corner, like this. You want to repeat this step for both squares on each piece. Now the pieces should look like a ‘s’ and ‘z’ shape. Now you
Air pollution continues to be a significant problem in the city of Birmingham, as it has been for decades. No one enjoys walking the streets of Birmingham only to taste or smell the smoke and particulates in the air, not to mention the damaging effects to one’s health. Fortunately, improvements have been made; forty years ago, residents of Birmingham could not even see the skyline due to the immense amounts of particulates in the air, but now the skyline is visible on a daily basis. The noticeable improvement indicates the progress that has been made over the years, but there is still plenty of room for much needed improvement. Birmingham’s air quality is among some of the worst in the United States, but there are several feasible and
The Great War was not only fought with tanks, U-boats, and trench warfare, but it was a war of propaganda. Propaganda from both sides was used throughout the Great War to help try and shape the opinions of each embattled nation. This total war did not just require innovative weapons, but also innovative and at times even deceptive propaganda. The British, Germans and United States governments specifically, invested a lot of resources into propaganda as a way to increase recruitment numbers, build international support, and instill a sense of confidence in what was the Great War. Countries had to not just focus their efforts on getting people from their own country to support them, but also neutral countries, as well as having to focus on the enemies by use of atrocity propaganda. In turn, this led to governments “tampering with the human will,” and even using deceit, all in an effort to help solidify their sides victory. In turn, propaganda played a vital role in the Great War and additionally created an everlasting influence on both war and media in the world today.
If I were ever stuck in an island and a rich man asked me to marry him, I would say no, especially if he was my father. Surrounded in a small isolated island, avoiding American commercialism is too hard to ignore, especially if you want to go to America. In the CCNY theatrical adaption of the musical book “Jamaica” by Yip Harburg, Fred Saidy and Harold Arlen, director and choreographer, Keith Lee Grant conveyed the witty life of Savannah and her friends in the Caribbean island of Jamaica. With its use of puppets and power points director Grant portrays the eagerness each character was in need to get what they wanted. Savannahs desire to go to New York City, and Koli’s true love to fight for her was a love story I believe should not have finished with a good ending. The ending was cliché and very happy to wrap up a story that involved incest and desperation of money.

I came across some handy tips on a website called Iamnotaclown.com. One of those tips is to make sure that you always twist in the same direction. This will ensure that none of your bubbles become untwisted before you lock them into
Air pollution has become a problem in our world today. Living in a busy city, I am curious to know, how polluted is our city air. To test this I am doing an experiment using petroleum jelly and flashcards. These flashcards will collect air particulate matter that consists of organic chemicals, metals, and soil or dust particles. I will put each flashcard in 4 different locations around the community. One will be put at the park, at my home, at school and by the freeway. My results were an interesting find. One location that I thought would have the least particles had more than I thought. Although my findings were interesting, my experiment had gotten tampered with.

I think that Georgia has an air pollution problem. From our cars, our hairsprays, the uses of heaters and air conditioners, and even the use of our washers; these items can potentially pose a threat to our air quality. There are approximately 10.43 million people that live in Georgia, and most everyone of them uses an item that contributes to the gas in our air. Every morning, people get ready for school or work. We turn on our lights, as warmer weather approaches we may turn on our air conditioners, we style our hair with hairspray, and we turn on our cars. Each of these processes producing gas.

Grades. They are something that we constantly pester and nag students about. Being one myself, I know exactly how it feels, to have a parent or a teacher, tell you that you still have pending assignments or that you are not scoring well in tests. Usually, during your adolescent years, you try to understand the world around you and pick a path that you want to follow in the future. Also, during this time you are faced with tough decisions like whether you want to hang out with your friends of if you want to study. Sometimes you might just give into peer pressure and neglect or put off education. During times like these it is most probable that your grades would drop, but it is only so fair that you get kicked out of your sports teams or your clubs. At some point in life, your parents, your teachers or even your principals, might of gone off tracks and ended up in the same type of situation, hence it is unfair to say that unless you have good grades, it is not possible to participate in extracurricular activities. Extracurricular activities, especially sports or after school clubs, help students relax and get their mind off tough assignments and most importantly, it helps nourish and
