The death of a young African American male in 1955 haunted the south and the African American society. Images of Emmett Till hanging in a tree were plastered on television and in newspapers for Joseph McNeil, Ezell Blair Jr., Franklin McCain, and David Richmond to see while attending North Carolina A & T College in 1960. These four African American men would soon become known as the Greensboro Four after instigating a sit-in at a Woolworth’s store in Greensboro, North Carolina. Their courage and determination ignited a movement to end segregation not only in their state but across the nation. History was being made that day as the young men sat at the counter, customers inside watching as the events unfolded, and the impact of this incident permeating across American’s eyes.
Two specific groups that I identify with as part of my decision to attend Columbia Southern University is based on my family and work. As an individual my choice to attend is based on my own desire to achieve a higher education in order to obtain a job that is satisfactory to the life and goals I have mapped out for myself. By having a job for which I have specifically attended school for, it will allow me to get and sustain a career conducive to my own happiness and prosperity. While my own individual choice to attend school is great, I have a family that encouraged me greatly in this decision. Both my mother and father, between the two, have a Master’s degree in criminal justice, and a Bachelor's degree in paramedic studies. Naturally
The worlds population consists of 6.9 billion people, and China alone is more than 1.2 billion of the worlds population. The one-child policy caused many consequential factors that has affected China's demographics as in causing young people/children to suffer mental health problems, accelerated aging/no labor & old age support, fertility rates to decline more rapidly causing a great unbalance of the sex ratio. The purpose of the one-child policy was to limit the family units to one child per family so it could reduce China's growth rate of its big population. To begin with, the policy has caused many young adults/ children to suffer many mental health problems/issues. In document F, Xiao Xuan states that "I used to cut myself on my wrist after being yelled at by my mom and dad because I didn't know who I should talk to or turn to," quoted by Jamie Florcruz.
I, Sara Samir, am interested in joining National English Honor Society (NEHS). Throughout my years at Calhoun, I have grown as student thanks to the wonderful English staff here. They have all helped me excel in several areas of English. With my accomplishments and grades in English throughout high school, and after completing a few more of the requirements, I feel that I am eligible to be considered to be part of NEHS.
National Honor Society is a nationwide organization for high school students, which was established in 1921 by Principal Edward S. Rynearson. NHS was originally founded on the principles to create enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, promote responsibility and leadership, and develop character in students. NHS is a wonderful opportunity for me and I believe that I would be an excellent member able to present valuable contributions to the program.
National Honors society is a club that is focused on academics. To be accepted there was a application that had to be filled out. I was accepted to National Honor Society when I was a Junior. On behalf of Beaufort Middle School, myself, Dr. Tomon and The Faculty Council we congratulate you and your student on being selected for membership to the Beaufort Middle School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. The NJHS is a program that celebrates the success of many of our hardest working students, based upon academic achievement as well as the demonstration of outstanding character, service, leadership, and citizenship. These criteria for selection form the foundation upon which the organization and its activities are built. Members of NJHS take pride in their accomplishments and work diligently toward the goal of attaining a superior education and contributing to their school and community. They do their best to provide positive role models for their peers.
Although I have only been in National Honors Society since last spring, I believe I have nevertheless demonstrated the kind of commitment to the community that NHS members exemplify. Throughout high school, I have been involved in many school-related and independent charitable activities. I have participated for the past three years in the annual Feed My Starving Children food packing event at the high school, one year staying late to seal the 300,000th meal so we could reach our goal. I have volunteered for Osceola Public Library on numerous occasions, and I have also volunteered for the Books for Africa and Operation Christmas charities.
I feel very adrenalized to gain this opportunity to participate in the National Junior Honor Society for the coming seventh grade school year. In NJHS, I will be able to serve RCMS and the whole community to promote the general welfare of our people, and I will be able to garner information on the most pressing issue in our community. What I am ardent about for NJHS, is that I will be able to liaise with my peers to make RCMS and the rest of our community a better place for all students and parents to function in. I have come across many enthralling experiences throughout all my school years, and NJHS will be the perfect place for me to show what my potential is and serve my community.
The last three months have been a busy time, evaluating the needs of the SC Lions Foundation and South Carolina Lions Charitable Services, while continuing to work on grant opportunities and other sources of funding. SCLCS and SCLF are at a crossroads for many of the programs, funding and service opportunities. There are several areas that SCLCS and SCLF need to address for the organizations to remain successful.

This movie did most things right. The art is absoloutly beautiful, many times during the movie i was taken aback at how good it looks. the characters are great. the friends of the main characters are very funny and likeable, i wish we would have gotten more time with them. when it comes to the unbelieveable premis, the characters reactions mostly stay grounded.
