There's only one thing of which
I'm certain,
Cherie will swipe the lot,
Every light bulb, every curtain.
I haven't spent too much
On holidays, they've all been freebies, My thanks to little Cliff

But none at all about my pension.
While some have lost the lot,
Mine is great, I'd like to mention.
Some say that they hate me
For selling gongs along the highway, I pray that Scotland Yard
Will not come my way. There were times, Iraq no doubt,
I thought that I would get found out, But through it all, my friends stood tall And kept their gobs shut, one and all Then some one said; "Just use your head And blame Lord Levy." I know that as I go
There'll be some naughty stories,
Told by Mr. Brown's friends
And the naughty Tories.
I know that some folk say
My constant smile is boring,
They say I never stop
And smile while snoring. What is a man, what has he got?
Well, in my case, it's quite a lot.

To begin, one of the biggest human traits that Twain satirizes is Ignorance. The largest example of an individual with a strong sense of ignorance is Huck’s father, Pap. This is shown when he says “I won’t have it. I’ll lay for you, my smarty; and if I catch you about that school i’ll tan
The case study will form the basis of three individual assignments that are to be completed at various points in the course.
Part One: Reflect briefly on your own experiences with satire. Is this a genre you've experienced before? Satire is when you retell something in a way that makes a situation look stupid or embarrass someone. I have had experience with satire before, especially when watching TV. I have watched many tv shows with examples of satire in which they are used in a humorous way.
Twain wants so badly to be the hero that he is willing to do whatever it takes even if it means lying. Twain became the only subject to perform and eventually everybody believes in him. But before that, a few of the old aristocracy still doubted. Twain
Twain mentions on how we as teenagers and smaller kids should consider on hearing and thinking more when adults try to give us advice, because most of them have already been through what we are living now. On the lesson he gives us an advice on how becoming a better liar can make you a much smarter person in a very humorous and entertaining way.

Satire is a specific classification of writing that occasionally makes utilization of realistic and performing expressions with the aim of scorning society into self-change. With social criticism being its fundamental objective, it uses dark sarcasm as its primary device to get the point across. Satire impacts people to reconsider themselves so as to alter senseless thoughts and behaviors. Different techniques are utilized in delivering the satirical impact, those of which use wit as their primary weapon. These methodologies mix the acing of matching unimportant and authentic matters as one joke, demonstrating compliment yet meaning the contrary to show ambiguity, and asking rhetorical questions. Moreover, the creator may downplay an issue keeping in mind the end goal to move the group of audience towards the genuine significance of the theme, antagonistically; distortion is utilized to bring down the effect of an issue to its lesser quality. Aggregately, these procedures are practiced to draw out the human follies and vices in society. In Molière 's Tartuffe and Jonathan Swift 's article A Modest Proposal, both diagonally condemn and criticize human conduct and the discernment we have towards others. Through a comedian conveyance, these creators offer an understanding past the apparently self-evident, and expect to enhance this flawed custom of one sidedness as opposed to disposing of it.
“It gets better”, is always a cliché saying for someone with depression to hear. The constant reminder that it can just “go away”, but it doesn’t. It stays with you as long as you’re alive. When people say that they have a broken arm, everyone flocks to them, wanting to put their signature onto the cast. If you say you have depression, they run the other way. People don’t want to be around somebody, who is stereotyped to self-harm, always cry, and look sad. Depression isn’t always that case. It’s this feeling of constant sadness that you always mask over with a bright smile, broken eyes, and the daily “I’m fine”’s.
Contrary to popular opinion, depression is not merely the state of being sad. Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain that affects a person mentally, emotionally, and physically. Over 20% of Americans suffer from this disease, some without even knowing it. The “blues” hit me at a rather tender age. I'd wake up feeling lethargic, and went about my day feeling like a black cloud was hovering over my head I felt empty, alone because no one understood me, and worthless.
Mental health issues. If you use social networks, you’ll be quite familiar with the word. It’s all over the internet, mental health awareness, stories and experience of depression, people explaining in detail how it feels like to have anxiety, it’s the new trend among us. We’d think that it’s a good thing, so much publicity on a matter that many people chose not to believe in a few years back, right? But how did this innocent need to raise awareness become something that backbite the people who suffers mental illnesses?
Mark Twain is satirizing the advice young people are given by authoritative figures on different issues in life. The words of wisdom used to guide youth usually promote the same ideals and are repeated so often that in some sense they lose their strength. That does not mean though that the issues they touch upon are not important. Twain uses humor to actually make young people go beyond the banality and conformity and ask questions of importance.

One writing that Mark Twain is not as famous for, but is still a well known piece of work for showing the use of humor in his writings is, “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County”. This work starts off slow without much humor until later on in the writing. The humor picks up as Twain includes bits of sarcasm to the mix. The humor in this short work is not so hidden or subtle as it may have been in some of Twain’s other writings. One example of this sort of dry humor is, “And Smiley says, sorter indifferent like, ‘It might be a parrot, or it might be a canary, may be, but it an't it's only just a frog.’” (Jumping Frog). This shows a side and type of writing that is not usually seen with Twain. Usually the humor in his writings was always sort of hidden away and harder to pick out, but in this work, it is more obvious that he is trying to make it humorous. “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County” may not be as widely known as some of Twain’s other work, but it is a good example of how he includes humor into his writings to catch the reader’s attention and to provide some comic relief from, at times, tense situations.

Success is extremely coveted in the society, however on the path to success, obstacles will stand in the way.
