I’ve tried to be more involved in and outside of school. I joined the robotics club here at NIU and I learned a lot from more senior members. I grew comfortable working as a teammate as I went from working on component designs to leading them. In addition, I also interned at Sandia National Laboratories. At Sandia, my department was WMD Threats and Aerosol Science. We worked to study, understand, and create countermeasures for weapons of mass destruction. The work was incredibly fulfilling and the research we accomplished was of great importance. The Air Force Research Lab was especially interested in our fog chamber, one of the largest in the world. I loved working at Sandia. My department was a talented team with various specialties,
What did you do after you graduated high school? I joined the Army during World War II, thats when I learned about electronics.
“I have a dream that one day I will overcome the struggles that I have faced living in a poverty-stricken community.”
I would like to apply for a 2016 summer internship in the accounting department at the Tennessee Valley Authority Corporate Headquarters in Knoxville. After doing research online and with my career counselor, Robin Lay, at Tusculum College I have decided that the Tennessee Valley Authority would be a stupendous place to begin gaining real world experience and knowledge in the accounting field.
There were a few opportunities that I was lucky enough to experience throughout my years of high school. One of my main opportunities that I will always remember as I work my way into building my career is job shadowing a cardiovascular ICU nurse during my junior year. It amazed me and inspired me into something that I would love to pursue in my future. I was able to do such a thing through the medical careers academy studying all about the body throughout the year. By that time I was already on my second year of the academy so I had a fairly good understanding of what was being taught.
Because of the people I chose to surround myself around, I found myself wanting to go into the field of engineering. My friends knew I had a passion for math and they suggested engineering as an occupation I should look into. As of result of that, I found myself getting into more hands-on projects in my last two years of high school, as well as taking an engineering focused course in high school to try it out. I fell in love with the career path and since then, I aspire to become an
I felt my heart racing, heard my name being called, and suddenly, anxiety turned into elation. Within moments, I was walking across the international stage in Orlando in front of 16,000 people. I had won 5th at DECA Internationals!

Some people might view Cortez as a dead end town but Cortez has actually been the best possible place for me to be. I was in the 21st Century program at the Cortez Middle School, where I participated in curriculum focused on critical thinking, group projects, and presentations. Being accepted into this program propelled me to push myself out of my comfort zone and grow as a person which I have been continuing to do ever since. I interned for two months at Southwest Memorial Hospital, shadowing doctors, nurses, and hospital staff. Then I was accepted into Pinhead Institute which allowed me to do an environmental science internship at the University of Arizona in Tucson. I lived there with my host family for six weeks while I helped a graduate student of the university complete her final research project. My most recent endeavor I was fortunate enough to be sponsored by Empire Electric in the 2016 Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp in Steamboat Springs. I have been constantly pushing my limits and I plan to continue this path by going to college and becoming a forester.
Apart from my curriculum, I am involved in various extracurricular activities such as cricket and basketball. I am also involved in chess club helping me to develop my detail-orientation and decision making skill all essential for mechanical engineering. I also volunteer in my church. I organize and participate in different activities like drama, carol service and other programs related to my culture like “Onam” festival of flowers, this has enabled me to develop my leadership and organizational skills and to work in an environment that requires patience and ability to consider ideas of others. During my free times, I read about different captivating things like brief history of time by Stephen Hawkings and also let my creative side flow by drawing. It helps me to relax and soothes my mind when I am stressed. By being involved in games and sport, I am able to build a strong mind and good concentration which then enables me to be an effective learner. During holidays and summer vacation I did voluntary work at the British Heart Foundation, and I currently have a paid job at Morrisons where I enjoy working as a part of a team.
I attended Braden River High school until I heard about the opportunity to participate in the dual enrollment program at SCF. I have always been motivated in school, but was ready for a new challenge. I started at State College of Florida my senior year of high school as a dual enrollment student. During my first semester, I took thirteen credit hours and earned a 4.0. The second semester I increased to fourteen credits and again earned a 4.0. By May I had earned twenty six college credits and retained a 4.0 Grade point average. I have always had a passion for school, so there was no chance that I wanted to take a summer break. In May, I enrolled as a non-degree seeking student so that I could continue going to State College of Florida until I received my high school transcripts. This summer I have earned another fourteen college credits and so far have maintained my 4.0 grade point average. I plan to attend State College of Florida in the fall and spring to earn my AA degree and then transfer to either University of Florida or Florida Atlantic University. I want to study microbiology and cell
Propaganda is some sort of information, especially of a biased or misleading nature used to promote a political cause or point of view (definition from Oxford Dictionary). In other words, Propaganda is a false statement which is spread to help or harm a person or a group of people. Usually, It is just a convenient lie to cover up something inferior. Propaganda is definitely something that is used a lot in the novel “Animal farm” by George Orwell. However, how exactly is it used to control the animals on the farm?
There are many aspects that contribute to a classification of a golden age because of this, in this essay I want to focus on three aspects that can be analysed to discover whether the Hellenistic period of Greek history can be classified as a golden age. These three aspects I will be looking at are science, literature, and art since each form were influential and contributed to society.
My junior year, I began to consider other options for my future. In high school I loved working with others and giving back, and I was very involved with multiple organizations that benefitted the community. I worked as a student council representative, a peer leader for a group of freshman, and a member of the Tri-town council, an organization of volunteers that worked for the community.
Many students while they are in high school will participate in clubs and sports of all likes. I did something a little different than track or chess club. I helped design, build, and showcase robots. We aren't talking about a some desktop toy or tiny remote control car, what I helped create was an over one hundred pounds of beastly machinery. There is one very important fact that makes this a lot more difficult than it already sounds, we only had 6 weeks to build it. All of this during after school hours and on weekends. Now balancing all of stress of robotics, school, and life is not the easiest task. The events of my senior year robotics season may have been the most stressful few months of my life, but the day that set off the season would become the day I will remember most of all.
Outside of academia I have participated in the Department of Defense Information Assurance Scholarship Program locally known as the Cyber Corps. This program has allowed me to spend time working as an augmentee on a team inside of the Department of the Navy. The teams daily operations focused on clients cybersecurity needs and developing cybersecurity capabilities.
