The coastline of Dana Beach is some of the most beautiful and appreciated in all of California. While beach combers especially appreciate its sheltered coves, surfers have been enthralled with its many beach breaks. Much of California’s surfing culture can trace its roots back to Dana Point and Hobie Alter’s surf shop which opened here in 1954. Even those who don’t want to surf or even swim come to Dana Point to walk the high bluffs and simply enjoy the view. Dana Point businesses benefit from significant tourism and at Minuteman Press we often suggest the use of direct mail printing in Dana Beach to maximize sales from out-of-town patrons.

I was use to Admirals visiting my spaces and being inquisitive about what we do, but there was something about VADM Moran that was different and authentic. I was ordered to meet him outside the door. I watch the parking lot and awaited his arrival, as well as his entourage. They finally arrived in a white government mini-van. As he approached, I surrendered my salute. He walked toward me very polished, with a strong presence and big warm smile. I directed him towards our cyberspace recruiting center. Instead of walking in silence he began asking about me, such as where I was from and about what ships I’ve been on.

San Diego- Tijuana and the Dominican Republic-Haiti populations have experienced the same patterns in recent history. San Diego and Tijuana were once seamless. Once the Northern area of San Diego was colonized and defined, the identities of both sides of the American border changed over time. The San Diego gained and American identity and, during the Great Depression, deported Mexican immigrants to Mexico, some of whom were American citizens. Later on, when San Diego once again began to flourish, employment opportunities lured illegal immigrant back to the area, while the federal government turned a blind eye. The urbanization of San Diego heavily relied upon Tijuana immigrants to grow when there weren’t enough people to fill low
