Same Sex Marriage Should Be Legal

In the past few years all 50 states have legalized same sex marriage. The problem is same sex marriage is still not widely accepted in this American society. When people are getting arrested because they refuse to do their job and give out gay marriage licences that means there is a problem with the way that same sex couples are being treated. Gay marriage is a major hot button issue in America right now. To allow marriage or to not allow marriage has evoked a large argument that has caused many riots and problems. Gay marriage is the right for two people of the same gender to marry. But what most people do not think about is the benefits of marriage to this community of people. Society should work harder on accepting same sex marriage because it is not just about being happy (but that is a benefit), but it is a matter of decisions over life or death, money, and the life of children.

The first reason it should be legal is that it will make LGBT families more stable. Children raised by same-sex parents had fewer social problems than heterosexual raised children. This proves that same-sex parents are just as capable as heterosexual parents. Same-sex families are usually made by either adoption or surrogacy. It ends up costing tons of money, but to them it is worth it. For them to take a child who has no one to care for them is amazing.

Gay marriage is an issue that has been widely debated in the recent years. It has been considered outlawed for centuries, but is rapidly gaining acceptance among the people. While many believe to have no problem to allowing marriage of homosexual couples, there is still a fraction that is strongly opposed to it. Some nations in the world have shut their doors to the idea of same sex relationships, let aside allowing them the right to marry. Some countries have legalized gay marriage federally, however certain states have not accepted that law. As of June 26, 2015, 19 out of 194 countries allow same-sex couples to marry nationwide (Farmer and Horowitz, 2015). Should gay marriage be legalized worldwide? Many would say yes, but others may disagree.

Many people in the United States have been refused the right to marry for many years, especially homosexuals. Gay marriage is important because, everyone has the right to pursuit of happiness; according to the Decleration of Independence. Homosexuals have been shunned for their lifestyle choices because of others religious beliefs and morals. After several years of riots and debates, Gay marriage was finally legalized on June 26, 2015. Same-Sex marriage should remain legal because, it offers many advantages to same-sex marriage such as legal benefits, stability for children, and the right to equality.

Everyone knows what marriage is. One either saw one, participated in one or had one. The constitution of marriage is something that has existed for as long as men can remember. Marriage is a celebration, something, both men and women, look forward to since they are children. The general idea about marriage is that it includes a man and a woman, but what about same-sex marriage? Everything changes as time goes by: cars, phones, televisions, etc., therefore the idea of marriage must change as well. Same-sex marriage needs to be legalized all over the world. Same-sex marriage legalization can only do good in our society. This will promote a non-discriminative and equal society, protect families and their children and strengthen International reputation. Unfortunately, many will not agree and state that same-sex marriage weakens the institution of marriage, that it can emotionally damage children and can have negative consequences on religious liberties.

Why shouldn’t Same Sex Marriage legalized? Number one why would you want more gay couples walking around and getting married? It flat out is just not right at all. No matter if same sex marriage is legal or illegal it will never be okay on any circumstance. Marriage has always been between A Man and Woman not two guys and two girls. Marriage should stay the same, it should not be legalized, they’re just too many wrongs to it and it is not acceptable.

In today’s society, it is hard to define what is known as a “traditional marriage”. Considering the popularity of marriages that are arranged on the basis of polygamy, communal child rearing, and even the use of mistresses, homosexual marriage should not be considered “unnatural”. For many people, it is hard to understand how any individual can love someone of their same gender. Nonetheless despite the percentage of the population that is muddled by the act, same sex marriage should be legalized because denying them that right sends the message that it is acceptable to treat gays as inferior and unworthy. Not only that, same sex marriage encourages strong family values and financial gain to state and federal governments.

Before the ruling on June 26, 2015 for gay marriage to be legal in all fifty states, thirty seven out of the fifty and Washington D.C already legalized gay marriage. Many support gay marriage and many do not, with widespread values and reasons for and against it. Due to religion and rights people across the nation have differing views and opinions of it.In a five to four vote in the Supreme Court gay marriage became legalized in all fifty states. Shortly after that a few marriage officiators and marriage licenses people began refusing services and documents for gay marriage.Some states also started placing bans on gay marriage. Everyone is allowed their own bias on the issue, but take a moment and think about all the reasons the other side has.The legalizing of gay marriage should be accepted and acknowledged in all fifty states.

Gay marriage should be legalized because it is unmerited and undemocratic. Our civil rights and the Constitution give us many liberties such as the pursuit of happiness. This pursuit is hard for homosexual people to chase. They usually cannot be married to the person they love and it violates their freedoms. The 1st amendment of the Constitution states that a person’s religious beliefs or lack of must be protected. In a marriage the one thing that truly matters is love. If gay people feel this way then why shouldn’t they be able to be married? If they are happy with each other there should be no say about it. The discrimination against homosexual athletes in American sports is out of control and needs to be changed immediately. How would people feel being looked down upon being one of the only openly gay athletes in the United States? Before 2014 there was not any openly gay athletes currently playing professional sports in the United States. This shows the fear humans have when it comes to being honest about their sexuality because they know what the general public thinks about it. Discrimination is inhumane, especially when it comes to peoples beliefs.
