Have you ever been riding with your parents and couldn’t decide if you wanted Burger King or Ruby Tuesday? Getting a thick juicy hamburger makes a big difference from which it comes from. Eating fast food is not always the best thing to eat. Especially, when you can have a sit down meal. Having a sit down meal is preferable that is one way you keep from ruining your clothes. Being a kid wanting to have a quick hot meal is something that most children prefer. Most kids like fried chicken, chicken fingers or popcorn shrimp. They usually don’t like food like fish, meatloaf or loaded mash potatoes. That is the kind of food that is served at Ruby Tuesday. Rudy Tuesday’s is a quiet restaurant with dim lights and has a family environment.
On November 1st, 2007, Meredith Kercher was murdered with a knife in her apartment. She was found by Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito at 10 A.M. the next day. There are many sides to this case and very little evidence. Rudy Guede lived in the apartment under Kercher at the time of the murder. He claims that he was with Meredith when she was killed. They were hanging out in her apartment when he went to the bathroom and heard screams. He came out and claims he saw Sollecito and a silhouette that looked like Knox. Knox says she was with Sollecito at his house smoking marijuana the night of the murder. She later broke down saying she was at Kercher's house some of the night and then claimed otherwise the day after. Sollecito claimed that he was smoking marijuana at his house and his memory was so blurred that he doesn’t remember if Knox was with him or not. Out of everything that occured, Rudy Guede was sentenced with 16 years in prison for the murder of Meredith Kercher. The Amanda Knox case was a witch hunt against Rudy Guede, not only because of his race, but because Knox and Sollecito took the blame off themselves and put it on him.

Many of you have heard about Ricky Williams, as he infamously gave up a promising career to smoke pot. This is not another Ricky Williams, but someone who believes so strongly that marijuana should be allowed in the NFL it led to his retirement. Eugene Monroe: at 28 years old he played his last down in the NFL. After speaking out about the corrupt NFL drug policy Monroe was cut from the Baltimore Ravens. After constant use of opiates to treat his pain, he tried the Earth’s natural medicine: marijuana. He came to a conclusion that marijuana worked just as well as the chemical opiates, if not better. Although his decision to speak out about it may have cost him a lot of money and a promising career, he doesn’t regret becoming standing up for

Butch Cassidy was a well-known American outlaw participating in many robberies with his gang, the Wild Bunch. His real name actually was not Butch Cassidy; he was born under the name Robert Leroy Parker on April 13, 1866. He moved away from his home and soon would meet a rancher by the name of Mike Cassidy which was also an alias for another name. He formed a close bond with the man. Robert Parker worked as a butcher at the time which is where he got his nickname Butch. He would come to change his alias to Butch Cassidy in honor of his friend and his nickname.
Butch Cassidy and his members of the Wild Bunch left a remarkable chapter in the history of old American West. Interestingly, Butch was no mean robber, but someone full of charm. The story of the group was made more interesting with the addition of Butch’s constant partner-in-crime, Sundance Kid.

After reading Contemporary Literary Theory: Its Necessity and Impossibility, I find that I agree with most of what Robert Young says in regards to literary theory. The main point that really struck home with me was when he talked about theorists lacking the ability to connect with a wide audience. He states, “Literary theorists seem to speak and argue with each other in a private language, making little effort to address a wider audience” (Young 165). I could not agree more with this assessment. When we first read about Jacques Derrida and his theory of deconstruction I questioned my intelligence. It may as well have been written in Greek. It has been a very long time since I have encountered something that left me with absolutely nothing after reading it. I tend to agree

“Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit but the highest form of intelligence” (Gino). Admit it; we all have that one friend that is always sarcastic. There are always saying things that may seem nice at first, but when you think about it what they just said could have been a complete insult. This special trait that is used by people is called satire. Satire is defined as the use of wit, especially irony, sarcasm, and ridicule, to criticize faults. There is one person in our history that is the father of all satire, his name is Chaucer. Chaucer wrote in the medieval times and would talk about when women's rights and people of the church that were very hypocritical. Chaucer uses satire to reach his intended audience in his writings by coming across at first as nice but actually is being very sarcastic and actually insulting people right in front of them. Chaucer uses satire in, Chaucer’s Tales of Canterbury.
