Butch Cassidy was a well-known American outlaw participating in many robberies with his gang, the Wild Bunch. His real name actually was not Butch Cassidy; he was born under the name Robert Leroy Parker on April 13, 1866. He moved away from his home and soon would meet a rancher by the name of Mike Cassidy which was also an alias for another name. He formed a close bond with the man. Robert Parker worked as a butcher at the time which is where he got his nickname Butch. He would come to change his alias to Butch Cassidy in honor of his friend and his nickname. The Wild Bunch gang´s name was stolen from Doolin-Dalton. His gang would become mostly very well-known in the northern parts of Wyoming, where they committed crimes such as, railroad robberies, bank robberies, theft of cattle and horses. The biggest difference between the two gangs was Doolin-Dalton would kill lawmen. It is believed and has even been said by Butch that he’s never actually killed anyone. He tried using the point while speaking to a lawyer when he was about to go to trial again, but the lawyer simply told him it wouldn't matter. Butch Cassidy along with his best friend, Harry Longabaugh during what´s believed their final years travel down to South America where they continued their lifestyle of crime. He did this because of all the bounties looming over his head and with sheriffs and detectives still pursuing him, This went on until it is believed they were shot and killed in Bolivia by soldiers in 1908. The reason he got the name ‘’Mad Dog’’ is because on the date July 28,, 1931 Vincent was looking to kill Joseph Rao, who was also a part of Dutch’s gang. A car pulled around the corner of where Joseph was located. He soon hit the ground as the barrage of bullets were let free. Five children were injured during the shooting but one child died named Michael Vengalli, when he was shoot the bullet ripped his stomach and blew it out of his body. After the child died their mayor Jimmy Walker called the Mad Dog and it was released on all newspapers after his new nickname became known to everybody. He was arrested on October 5th and the jury found him innocent for Michael Vengalli’s murder. Soon after the Dutch and Owney put a 50,000 dollar bounty on him and gangsters had soon answered the call. On February 8th, an angry Vincent called Owney for money in demand because his gang was going to kidnap his brother in law. The call was soon traced to a local phone booth and a volley of bullets was released into the phone booth killing Vincent instantly. Al Capone, who was born in New York in 1899, was one of the most prominent gangsters in America in the 1920s. He was the son of Italian immigrants, and after leaving school at a young age, became a small-time criminal. Known as ‘Scarface,’ he had links to the leader of the Five Points Gang, Johnny Torrio, and moved to Chicago in 1920, where he gradually rose through the ranks as a partner in saloons, gambling and brothels. They moved their operations to Illinois after an offer to work with Jim Colosimo, a central figure in Chicago’s brothel business. Gang rivalry heated up after a dispute between Torrio and Colosimo over whether to begin in the bootlegging business, and in 1920, Colosimo was murdered allegedly by Al Capone. After this, Torrio’s criminal empire expanded massively throughout Chicago, before leaving in 1925 and handing over operations to Capone. Billy the Kid was an outlaw. He had multiple names and there is not much known about his early life and parents. He was born as William Henry McCarthy Jr. on November 23, 1859. Henry’s mother died of tuberculosis when he was only 15. However, raising a teenaged boy did not sound like a good idea to his stepfather, so he went into a boarding home. The Kid had many run ins with the law, but being a well-known outlaw started in Arizona when he killed someone in self-defense. He then went on the run to New Mexico.
