Due to the work of President Reagan, President Bush Sr., and President Bush Jr., they were able to cut back the role of the federal government, and supported labor unions and regulatory structures.

Not only did Reagan win forty nine out of the fifty states in his bid for reelection in 1984, but, he also earned five hundred and twenty-five electoral votes.
