When Juliet drank the potion to fake her death, Romeo had no idea that this would happen. This is shown when Balthasar gives Romeo the news that Juliet is dead, and Romeo decides to die and thinks that ”I will lie with thee tonight. Let’s see for means. O mischief, thou art swift. To enter in the thoughts of desperate men!” (lines 36-38 ). This shows that once he hears something he doesn't like, he impulsively thinks he can't live without Juliet. Romeo and Juliet were a pair of “star crossed lovers” however, their love was forbidden to an ancient grudge between their families, the Capulets and the Montagues. Despite the grudge, the lovers decide to secretly marry. Their decision results in a large amount of turmoil when Romeo gets banished when he kills Juliet's cousin, Tybalt. In an attempt to get back together, their death ensues. Many debate about who is responsible for their death, I believe that they are responsible for their own deaths because they were too hasty, broke rules, and were irresponsible.

It is a tragic story of two lovers, destined to complete each other, but also to end a bitter feud through their deaths (Prologue.3-6). However, if the blame had to be ascribed to one person in particular, that person would be Romeo Montague. Throughout the play, Shakespeare showcases Romeo’s irrationality and poor decision making, leading to the gruesome deaths of his loved ones. Romeo is most to blame for the tragic slew of deaths because he is oblivious, quick to act, and too urgent in his relationship.
As a result, this caused him to behave in ways he normally would not have, such as taking his own life because he thought that Juliet was dead. In Document C, the speaker states that “[Romantic love] has all the characteristics of addiction. You focus on the person, you obsessively think about them, you crave them, you distort reality, you are willing to take enormous risks to win this person,” which illustrates that because Romeo was fiercely enamored with Juliet, he was unable to think clearly and this caused him to be rash in his judgement, which led him to kill himself, consequently causing Juliet to commit suicide as
Romeo drank the deadly poison just before Juliet arose from her fake death. If Romeo would have been more patient, Juliet would have awakened. Also, Romeo killing himself caused Juliet to kill herself as well. Juliet would have never killed herself if Romeo would not have killed himself. In addition, Romeo is to blame because he killed Tybalt, which got him kicked out of Verona. If he would not have killed Tybalt, he would have been able to stay in Verona, and he would have known that Juliet was not actually dead. Suspect or Victim In William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is not the one suspected to not be at fault for his and others deaths, but He is. Finally, if he would have never gone to the ball that he wasn’t suppose to go to, he would have never met Juliet and they would have never fallen in love with each other and Tybalt wouldn’t be mad at him for going to the party because he never would have gone. Blame is easy to find in the Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, but the real question is who should be blamed the most for the deaths? I think that the most to blame is probably Friar John. The reason I think this is because if only he could have carried out what he was picked to do which was delivering the message to Romeo that Juliet was not really dead then three people would not have died. I had three people in mind that I could have chosen. One of which would be Balthasar because he saw Juliet in the Capulet’s tomb pretending to be dead and ran straight to Romeo which I do understand because he did not know that Juliet was faking, but if he would have slowed down and just walked up to her he could have seen her chest moving which would have

Romeo and Juliet were above all else, the causes of their own deaths. When Romeo and Juliet, met at their party, fitted a little bit, and then decided to get married less than 12 hours later. Romeo found a friar who was willing to marry two people who had been together for less than a day, from rival families no less, and Juliet got her nurse to act as a messenger. They both had no thoughts about the future of their relationship. This sort of thoughtless behavior is part of the reason Romeo and Juliet died.

One, being the uncontrollable road of fate, and the other being sheer human reaction. Document D shows, “They are two-star crossed lovers who live apart from each other because of the war between the Montague and the Capulet family that results in death in order to be resolved.” This relates to when Juliet was upset with Father Capulet because he has made arrangements for her to marry Paris. Lord Capulet is unaware of Juliet liking an enemy from a different family. In addition, he also does not know that his daughter is in love with a banished lover who happened to kill Juliet's cousin.
