In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is very upset because he loves someone, but she does not love him back. He describes her as,”She’ll not be hit with Cupid’s arrow. She has Dian’s wit(1.1.217)” This shows that he thinks she is not willing to fall in love; I think that this means that she wants to be chased. He is explaining to his cousin Benvolio that,”Alas that love, whose view is muffled still/ Should without eyes see the pathways to his will!(1.1.176)” According to this Romeo thinks that love is supposed to be blind, so it cannot make you sad but yet it can make you do what it wants; I think that love is a confusing thing and it can lead you to do crazy and unreasonable actions(like the shepherd that gave an abundance of riches to his love) After
First, In the beginning of the story Romeo not only happens to be in love with someone else. That person ends up not loving him back and hurting him. Now what this has to do with this is that when you get your heart broken by someone that you gave everything to and end up finding out that they do not feel the same at all you get hurt. There is no way to prevent that unless of course that you are not actually in love with that person. Also when your hearty gets broken you ended up becoming what I like to call love blind. It is where u do not care for only love anymore you want to be in control. You want to make sure that other person loves you no matter what the cost. And this times you want looks, action, and respect. You want to be the center of their attention and what this ends up coming to in the end is that you think you are trying to avoid being hurts again.
Romeo has the nature of being easily blinded by love, in return, causing his “intellectual degradation”. Stated at the start of the play on page 23, Romeo says, “yes,
Love is a good thing, it makes people feel happy, sometimes euphoric. Families, friendships, weddings, and all manner of positive things come from and are built on love. But, as is shown in the case of Romeo early on, it can also be painful and destructive. It makes people jealous, angry, upset, leading them to do things they ordinarily would not dream of. Romeo feels as though his world has ended when Rosaline does not return his love.
When analysing Romeo and Juliet it becomes apparent that while the two main characters’ lives were said to be predetermined by fate, it is Romeo's deep love for Juliet that acts as the catalyst that sets his fate into motion. Romeo was bound to love juliet but it was Romeo’s deep love for juliet that gets Romeo in to trouble. Additionally, Romeo gets to caught up in the one and only love of his life and when all the sudden it was gone he decided to kill himself. Although Romeo stated, “with love's light wings did I o’erperch these walls”( 2.2.73-75). This would prove that know matter what happens romeo will always go after Juliet/love Juliet. Ultimately, it is Romeo who is to romantic therefor creating the fate for himself and Juliet.
Love is a force of nature that inspires people to exceed expectations to become closer to their love. According to Shakespeare for Students and the opinions of many other people, love and emotions toward someone can be strong enough to propel them to do great deeds, which may or may not alter their future with their love. In the tragedy, after Juliet “dies”, Romeo tries to be the hero and die alongside of her so they could be together in peace without causing any complications between the feuding families.
In Romeo’s case, love is controlling him into being sad. But as the play goes on, he meets Juliet and they instantly fall in love. This love transforms him into a young man who will do anything for love. Without Juliet’s
Love is in the air like beautiful stars glimmering through the night. Love can be sweet as the sun but dark as night. In the play “Romeo and Juliet” Shakespeare suggest to us that love can hurt people in ways that are physical and mentally.. Some examples were Romeo and Juliet dying at the end so they can be together and when Romeo was thinking of stabbing himself because he was banned from Verona and can’t be with Juliet ever again. Romeo and Juliet were always meant to be together.
Romeo shows an abundance of passion towards others in this novel. Romeo is a very passionate character that loves too quickly, yet loves intensely. Romeo believes that Rosaline’s beauty is “too fair” (1.1.212) and claims that “[nobody can] teach [him]
Romeo and Juliet have a lot of people who don’t approve their short-lived relationship, and the majority of the reason why they don’t approve is because of the Capulet and Montague feud and how Romeo is from the side of the Montagues and Juliet is a Capulet. The Montague and Capulet feud is what led to the deaths of Romeo and Juliet and by looking at Capulet’s attitude towards Juliet, and Tybalt's and Mercutio’s deaths, this will be proven.
I believe Juliet loved Romeo more than Romeo loved Juliet because she was willing to take her life for him, he was the first person she had fallen in love with him, and he had been crying for another girl on the same evening he fell in "love" with Juliet. Juliet also forgave him for killing her cousin Tybalt.
Romeo is in love with the idea of “love.” He romanticizes the concept of love and as placed in evidence by the text, is capable of anything and everything for love. Romeo is easily moved and swept off his feet by the idea of love. Romeo for a moment reflects and questions, “Did my heart love till now?” He loses his will and is captivated by the idea of love, and overwhelming and unexplainable feelings that love can offer.
In the story Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare portrays Romeo as an emotional, love-struck teenager who cannot keep his emotions in check. Often times, his mood will be very negative based on a situation that has recently occurred with a woman. He can go from happy to emotional in seconds, based on something he is thinking about or something someone says to him about the topic of love. Through similes, allusions, and imagery, Shakespeare shows that Romeo and Friar Lawrence have a close-knit, father-son-like relationship that both of the men take very dearly to their hearts. “It is the East, and Juliet is the sun” (Act 2, Scene 2).
In Act One, Romeo’s personality could be described as dramatic. The prince leaves after breaking up a fight, and Benvolio, Lady Montague, and Montague are left to talk. Lady Montague asks where Romeo is, and Benvolio and Montague answer. In Montague’s response is the quote “And private in his chamber pens himself, / Shuts up his windows, locks fair daylight out, / And makes himself an artificial night.” (I.i.141-143).
One’s personal experience affects one’s perspective of love, and over time, will cause one to develop their own definition of true love. Romeo, initially, is infatuated with Rosaline, a girl who does not love him back. The one-sided love hurts him so much that he grieves in “a smoke made with the fume of sighs...” and (1.1.197, Shakespeare). “...a sea nourished with loving tears” (1.1.199). Romeo’s experience with Rosaline makes him believe that pain comes with love, making it a bittersweet sensation. Because he has no prior occurrences with love, that is his interpretation of it at that time. However, that very night, he attends a
Father, Dad, Sir, Papa, Paw, whatever you may call the man of the house makes decisions that he feels will best you as you grow into an adult. Children look up to their father for guidance and the right and wrongs about life. William Shakespeare wrote Romeo and Juliet, the tragic play shows that a couple will go the distance for the love of eachother. Juliet, a Capulet, Romeo, a Montague, fall in love, in the town of Verona. There is just one problem, both families have been in a fued.
