Sequence: I use sequence as needed when I’m tasked to write a paper or complete a project. I prefer to have a clear understanding of the directions and what the objective is when completing these assignments. If tasked with a group assignment/project, I like to know how my peers plan to approach this task so there is no miscommunication. I am one to meet the deadline of the given task as well as the expectations of the instructor when necessary.
Precision: I use precision as needed when it comes to talking about topics I have limited knowledge on. When doing this I tend to research as much as I possibly can on that topic and soak in all of that information. Whether it’s statistics, politics or sports, I want to know as much as I can on that given topic. I also tend to use it when testing for promotion in the military because it shows how much I know about my job and Air Force history. It’s vital to have precision at times for career progression even though the information being retained can sometimes be overwhelming.
Technical Reasoning: I use technical reasoning as needed when it comes to working with tools and new machinery. While doing this, I like to have a clear understanding of how the tools work even if it means taking them apart. At times I consider myself more of a “hands on” leaner and keep the verbal communication to a minimum. I may not always have the words to explain the way the machinery operates, but I’ll know the basic theory of operation.
Confluence: I
appropriate mathematical language to explain their thinking and the methods they use to support the development of their reasoning. They develop a range of flexible
There are lots of people around the U.S who who do not understand the hard struggle of people from other countries. Lots of people make stereotypes about Asian people, Latinos, and people from Arabic countries. People would normally assume that if you are asian, you speak Chinese or Japanese, or that you paint nails, or own a “Chinese food” restaurant.
Precision - As critical thinkers, we should be able to determine how precise or the amount of detail is needed for our audience to understand what we are trying to communicate.
I agree that I use sequence when needed because at times I do like to organize things that goes on in my life and at other times I feel like I just want to jump into tasks with no particular order. An example in which I used sequence is when I plan vacation trips. I am the type of person that wants complete control of the planning so I can make sure everything is in order and not chaotic. On my most recent trip to Atlantic City I had to make sure we had our whole trip planned out from the time we ate dinner to the time we woke up in the morning. I also had to read reviews on everything before I consider going. If something was to go off schedule it would freak me out a little.
Due to being the voice of our company my department tried very hard to be all encompassing, answering questions from technical issues on our website to loan schedules and investment options. One of my main tasks was processing contributions, which could be done either manually or with a file. When processed manually on the website I would use my Sequence learning pattern, due to the situation being fairly routine. Although when clients chose to process with a file things got a bit more interesting. I was able to pull out my Technical Reasoning when there were errors and decode exactly what was wrong with the file in order to process it, sometimes the errors were right in front of your face and other times they were incredibly miniscule. I enjoyed
Have you ever wondered what got the Beatles or ACDC so far in their career? They were in a group and that benefited them in multiple ways just like group projects benefit us in the classroom. I think that having group projects benefits us and our whole entire learning atmosphere in a positive way. Group project and activities benefit us by giving a more positive and less tense environment for learning, they help us learn social skills when we work together with other people in our groups and finally group projects let us take enjoyment in what we are doing our project on and we can have a better experience while participating in this project. I like group projects and I think we should have more of them in and out of the classroom.
Even though I start off quiet, and may have problems with procrastination,. I should do well on this group projects long as I work in a small group where the work is disturbed evenly. Plus I am a very organized when it comes to group projects and writing essays. I take one step at a time and work with my group members and cooperate with distributing the work into four parts. Myer Briggs is known for the indicator test. Myer Briggs talks about how people take these test to indicate what type of personality they have. This test was made to see how people have their own personalities and understand them Myer Briggs developed a list for each personality: Introvert-Extravert, Sensing-Intuitive, Thinking- Feeling, Perceiving- Judging. All of these
Group work has been a cornerstone of the social work profession and requires a variety of facilitator skills and awareness of group processes. The SSLDTM Group Program for People with Difficulties in Social Situations (Socialwork1914, 2017) provides an excellent example of a psycho-educational group co-facilitated by two female social workers, Jane and Karen. After viewing the 6th session of this 8-week program, I began to understand how the concepts of group formation/development, interpersonal dynamics, and leadership styles contribute to successful group work outcomes.
When the project was first introduced, I was not happy and thought that it was just going to be another boring project, but as we continued to work and I began to understand the project better, it became much more interesting and I ended up really enjoying the process. I was in the social sciences group and at first, my group and I thought it was going to be easy, but the more we worked and talked to other groups, the more complicated it started to become. We realized that there are lots and lots of pieces that must fit together to form a perfect society. We really struggled with the other groups because they all disagreed with us including mentally ill and none of the groups were very understanding about our needs. They all asked “why do we
Makayla, Sequence may be her use first learning pattern, but it doesn’t mean that it is the best way to go about tasks. Different tasks need different learning patterns associated with tem otherwise you’re going to fall short of instructors expectations. So a few words of advice for Makayla would be that sequence is great to use first but don’t count all your ways of learning out of the picture. Also a use of confluence would get her further in her papers to add that hint or originality and she will be sure to be successful.
During this trimester, I was a member of two diverse five member groups. Superficial analysis based on composition and output (successful assignment submission) would suggest that these groups had every opportunity to succeed and evolve into effective teams (Fisher, Hunter and Macrosson 1997; Hackman 1998). However, closer inspection suggests otherwise. As Hackman (2004) recommends, teams should measure effectiveness from multiple perspectives: quality of team outcomes (client perspective), quality of team life (individual perspective), and increased team productivity over time (team perspective). Using this model, it is apparent that despite a happy client, both teams performed poorly.
Teamwork can be complex and challenging given task and interpersonal issues, level of group motivation and expected performance standards. The concrete experience spoken about in this reflection piece is in reference to the effectiveness of myself as a group member and the group, working to write a report outlining the organisation and structure of Volkswagen. Dennison (2009) applies Kolb’s learning cycle (1981, 1984) which suggests that learning moves through a continuous cycle, between having an experience, and then reflecting on that action. This cycle has been developed from Lewin’s (1951) model for experiential learning. Reflection termed by Boud, Keogh and Walker (1985) ‘is a forum of response to the learner to experience’(p. 18). On reflection, the early set group dynamics was a defining factor in the experience, and how the team conducted themselves throughout the task. Meyerson, Wick and Kramer (1996) note that ‘such rapidly converging groups require methods for developing “swift trust”’ (p. 8), which can explain why initial group dynamics are so important. I took on multiple team roles, including group leader, which could be translated into the team not performing collectively on a high level, however, I could view this as a personal ineffectiveness of my leadership style.
When I saw the topic of the assignment, I immediately thought of my sister. As ive been learning about the different thought processes with the LCI, i am always thinking of her. if i had to guess what her use first pattern(s) would be; precision and sequence as a use first. i believe my sister uses both technical reasoning and confluence as a use as needed pattern. My sister is an ex sergeant in the united states marine coprs. in her enlistment, she learned to be very thorough and precise. the attention to detail that was expected helped her sharpen her levels of precision and sequence. in her line of work she had to become familiar with many types of equipment and also to learn to think outside the box. as stated in previous papers, my LCI
I am Zeeshan Ali; I am working as a Computer teacher for Classes VI-X-M in Canal Side Boys Campus. I have done Masters in Computer Science (MCS) from Punjab University College of Information and Technology (PUCIT) Lahore. The students are the main focus of every teacher and our entire teaching efforts circle round our students to achieve the set targets. Effective Teaching includes many useful teaching strategies that a teacher chooses according to the requirement of his/her respective subject and topic as well. In result of my years of experience and as a Computer teacher I find Group Work as the most effective and fruitful technique at every level.
My example of sequence learning is when I was taking a dental radiology class. I was extra cautious when it came time for me to actually take radiographs on an actual patient. I made sure I remembered every single step to avoid any possible mistakes. I had asked my instructor multiple times to check the position of the x-ray film so I didn't radiate the patient unnecessarily. I took my time with every single radiograph to ensure I was doing my best for the patient. I also wanted to pass the class of course. I have really god organizational skills and I like to keep every thing neat and tidy.
