My LCI scores show that I am a Dynamic learner. My scores are Sequence 20, Precise 28, technical 27 and confluent 22.
Sequence (as needed):
I agree that I use sequence when needed because at times I do like to organize things that goes on in my life and at other times I feel like I just want to jump into tasks with no particular order. An example in which I used sequence is when I plan vacation trips. I am the type of person that wants complete control of the planning so I can make sure everything is in order and not chaotic. On my most recent trip to Atlantic City I had to make sure we had our whole trip planned out from the time we ate dinner to the time we woke up in the morning. I also had to read reviews on everything before I consider going. If something was to go off schedule it would freak me out a little.
Precise (use first):
I definitely agree that I am a precise learner. I thrive on knowledge and I challenge statements and ideas that I doubt. I have way too many examples of when I use precise learning because I use it in my life everyday. Just the other day me and my girlfriend was discussing a topic in which I disagreed with. The conversation turned into a debate which made me do more

I like to figure things out on my own and I think of situations as a puzzle to be solved. I remember when I used technical skills when I was working at Sprint. I had a customer that came in with a cracked IPhone screen and our tech rep called out for the day. Instead of telling the customer to come back the next day I asked if he can give me a few hours to work on it. I watched a few of our tech training videos at work and practiced on an old IPhone. It took a lot of concentration due to having to unscrew and put the phone back together. After I was successful on the practice phone I completed the screen replacement on the actual customer phone. I was really satisfied when I was able to complete the replacement with no
Sequence: When I use sequential pattern on a use first basis I feel most comfortable, knowing that if I follow everything step-by-step makes completing assignments from beginning to end without interruption go smoother. Using sequential pattern in my household makes things easier,
I chose to do my analysis on my fiancé Kentrall. Anyone that knows him can easily point out his learning pattern. According to the LCI test he is a strong-willed learner. His use first learning patterns are confluence, Technical reasoning, and precision. He uses sequence as needed. We are definitely opposites, he thinks that he can fix anything without reading the instructions. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.
After taking the assessment, it has been determined I'm a Dynamic Learner. This is something that I've known; however, it's good to put a name with it.
I use sequence as needed. I usually tend to think about a situation before I decide which pattern to use. I evaluate the task and base my pattern on what needs to be done. I am able to use sequence comfortably enough but I do not usually organize or plan things out unless I need to. When using sequence I really have to sit down and think about what it is I am being asked to do, and then plan the best course of action. I take my time and try to make sure I am staying on task and following steps to complete the task successfully. Using sequence can be somewhat frustrating for me because I don’t always like sticking to a plan I prefer to just do whatever works for me, but there are situations I have learned from experience that do require some degree of planning. Going back to the example I used during this week’s discussion, I plan things like when my husband and I move from base to base. I plan this because there are a lot of steps and details that can and will get over looked if we don’t take the time to figure everything out beforehand. I learned from our first move that we need to do this in order to be successful and not have last minute issues arise, such as us being unable to ship my vehicle due to specific restrictions from our financing company. We weren’t given any information before hand and didn’t find this out until it was too late for us to be able to do anything about it. This is what taught me to research all the information and have my husband ask things in
Precise is my use first, I feel this learning pattern is the one I use the most, the reason being I always have task to complete and I will not quit until it is accurate and correct, I will go over and over it again until I feel it is what is required of me to do. When a new task is brought to me I need to know all the details, what do you want me to do, how do you want it represented, when do you want it done, why is it required to do it. Once you give me all the details and I have asked a hundred questions- because I will and I feel comfortable
SEQUENCE PATTERN (31) USE FIRST: I had no doubt that I use sequence first because I am a well-organized person and very detailed oriented. I am the type of person that whenever there is a assignment that needs to be completed or done. I will need clear direction that is relevant to the task giving in order for me to organize my steps to have it complete. I have to plan ahead and strategize before I tackle any tasks so I can fully understand the information. I need time to complete my work so I set a schedule for everything since I thrive on a well-organized life. I also enjoyed finishing anything that I start because it gives a sense of accomplishment when I deliver what was expected of me.
These are my strengths. I am a risk taker the reason for that Is because I love doing almost doing every thing. I will get out of my comfort zone to do fun things. I eat the weirdest food to see if there are good or not. I will do every sport except baseball I believe that baseball is just boring. I will go camping without tent all i need is a sleeping bag and a fier. I love sports, outdoors, and being with my friends. This year I will work on doing homework, which I am not good at doing. I will try to get good grades so I can pass 7th grade. I will work my hardest on every thing I do. All these sentences are my struggles. I will show my teachers that I can have fun and doing my work at the same
In this discussion I will talk about the results I received from taking the Learning Connections Inventory. The LCI determined that I am a Dynamic Learner. A Dynamic Learner is and individual who uses one or two Patterns at the Use First level and any other combination of Avoid or Use as Needed for the remaining patterns. My scores are as follows: Sequence 25 (use first) Precision 23 (use first) Technical 17 (avoid it) and Confluent 18 (as needed).
Sequence means that there is a definite pattern to a child developing e.g. a toddler being able to walk before they can run (sequence of development would be the order in which the development happens).
Whenever I come across something I don’t know the answer to, or how to solve, I use my problem solving skills to figure it out; I use what I already know and try to apply it to the problem at hand. For example, at my MathCounts meetings, we are constantly learning new concepts that aren’t taught until high school. However, once I understand the basics of a concept, I am able to apply my knowledge to the next
Sequence(30)Use first. This did not really surprise me, I want “clear directions” before I start any task especially in my work situations. I work at the high school level as an “Inclusion Specialist” although my job description says one thing, my daily job working with students are completely different. I don’t like hidden agenda’s, especially when it affects my positive attributes that I bring to the table.
How have I learned or not, and do I know what kind of learner I am?
Since discovering my learning patterns by administering the Learning Connections Inventory or LCI assessment, I have discovered my
Since I am a nontraditional college student who is taking online classes towards my BA degree in Accounting, learning is the same compared to a classroom setting. Learning is taking in knowledge from the world around me, making sense of it, and respond to it in an appropriate manner. Anybody can learn stuff by memorizing the information, but do not engage with it. Therefore, you must have intentional learning. You can understand yourself as a learner, and understand how to develop your skills as an intentional learner. My views of learning changed so much the last five weeks, because of knowing my LCI(Learning Connections Inventory) scores that are the four personal learning patterns: Sequence, Precision, Technical Reasoning, and Confluence. My learning patterns help me engage in my critical thinking, reading, and writing. Being a successful learner doesn’t happen by chance, it happens because of a prepared mind.
Carol S. Dweck believes that there is a secret to raising a smart child, having a growth mind-set. Believing this she said not to boost your kids’ confidence or praise them for their good work else it would lower their ability to work harder or get bored of what they are learning because the student thinks they know it all. Though she ran an abundance of trails trying to state whether this was true or not. Dweck labeled two different kind of learners, helpless and mastery. Each person as a different way of learning; helpless believe that they are not in control of their own learning, mastery believe that only you are in control and that you grow in intellectual skills. The mind-set of these learners affect their problem solving abilities,
