I am David Alan Moore, I am Irene’s oldest son. I met Roger in 1988. I’ve noticed Roger’s heavy drinking habits, and his apparent issues with control. I’ve been a witness to emotional and physical abuse.
Roger’s drinking habits were shown everyday when after he would come home and grab two beers, and drink half of one on his way from the garage to the house and not stop drinking until he’s passed out.
For example, during the holiday season of 2002, Irene ran to my house after Roger threw a knife in her direction and the knife stuck into the wall. Roger was passed out in a chair by time I arrive. While I was there, I saw the knife in the wall and a whole in a roast pan also caused by Roger.
The only time I lived with Irene and Roger was
Kim left the rehab center when her daughter got married. Kim brought along sober coach with her. However, she became so uncontrollable that her sober coach left. It was never determined if Kim was drunk, or high on drugs, but she said allegedly said horrible things to her daughter, her daughter’s husband and his family. She didn’t go back to the treatment center after that incident. Because of her drinking problem, she was fired from “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” Things continued to decline for Kim. On August 2, while shopping in Target, she shoplifted merchandise valued at $1,000. ET reported that she had three shopping carts full of things, but was charged for only

There are people in and out of the home often that come to the home to drink and party with Debra and her husband. Two months before this report was made, Debra left Gavin in the home with Jimmy. While at the home Jimmy held a gun to his head threatening to kill himself. The reporter stated Gavin could be heard begging Jimmy not to kill himself with a trembling voice. Gavin eventually walked two streets over to another grandmother’s home; a friend Raymond recorded the entire incident. Jimmy takes medications, he stays drunk, and takes pills; Debra
The first Alcoholics Anonymous meeting I attended opened with – probably as most — a serenity prayer, a reading of the AA preamble, a daily reflection, and several other readings. After the opening readings, they told individual stories of their own struggles and battles with alcohol use and abuse from their past along with their tussles to stay sober. Incorporated in the opening statements were references to the holy bible, prayer, spirituality, divine intervention, God responding to prayers, God’s will, God’s plan, and the soul. The meeting closed with an ‘Our Father’ prayer which was led with attendees, by making a circle and holding hands.

An addiction is a harmful relationship with drugs, alcohol, things or activities that brings about negative consequences by over use. People over use this relationship as a form of relaxation, reward or escape and overtime become dependent on these harmful relationships. Extensive research has gone into developing a program to help individuals overcome these harmful relationships. Alcoholics Anonymous has developed a 12- Step Program, which is a model that has been proven to benefit the community in helping to resolve addictions. The 12 step program helps to combat different type of addictions, although minor changes are made to deal with specific additions it is a very successful program. In Saint Petersburg Florida and program called

The history of alcohol and drug abuse can be dated back for hundreds of years around the world; in addition, the side effects from abuse can last just as long. The extent of alcohol and drug abuse may change dramatically due to societal views and normality such as the Prohibition era and the legalization of medicinal marijuana. Understanding alcohol and drug abuse means that one must not examine the behavior of the drinker, but also the place, time, and context of the consumption of drugs and alcohol. Dating back to the Mayflower, the New World welcomed the brewing of beer and ale as a tradition of the early culture. The consumption of alcohol was excessive- it was consumed from the crack of dawn to the crack of dawn, at work, alone, together,

On 09-13-2016, at approximately 2200 hours, I was notified by Cpl. Keene of a deceased person at 11408 Memorial Highway in Tampa. Upon my arrival at approximately 2235 hours, I met with Sgt. Gundersen and Deputy M. Armstrong. Joseph Derocher who is the roommate of Pytlik, said he had dinner with Pytlik last night and watched TV with him this morning and left the house around 0700 hours and said he was fine. Derocher came home about 1930 hours and saw Pytlik sleeping on the couch, which is where he usually passed out after drinking. Derocher tried to wake him up around 2040 hours and said he was cold and stiff to the touch. Derocher said he then called 911. Derocher said Pytlik is an alcoholic and had been staying with him for about 1

I understand that, at least for me at the time, drinking was a way of connecting with friends, to socialize with strangers, and to alleviate the shyness. But in hindsight, I noticed there was a change from wanting to needing a drink. It was a way to deal with the tree of work and life itself. Years later now my wife and son are in the picture, I do my best not drink "that much" at home, but still finding a myriad of excuses to do so.
Alcoholism is a prominent substance abuse issue in Western society. The treatment method of controlled drinking as opposed to abstinence is a continuing cause of controversy in alcohol research to this day. The US is different from Europe in its acceptance of controlled drinking as a goal of treatment: “in the US alcohol dependence is typically depicted as a ‘recurring disease’ and the ‘successful abstainer’ as a ‘recovering’ though never ‘recovered’ alcoholic” (Coldwell, 2005). Depending on the alcohol abuse patient’s individual characteristics, either controlled drinking or abstinence is chosen as a treatment.
Everyday around the world alcoholics attempt to quit drinking, with many succumbing to addiction once more. Alcohol can be highly addictive and plaguing the lives of alcohol abusers. When alcoholics do attempt to quit drinking alcohol, they go through various withdrawal symptoms that complicates the road to sobriety. Quitting alcohol is far from a simple process and will require initiative and perseverance. Although many attempt to quit alcohol by simply by going “cold turkey,” there are various steps people can follow to successfully quit drinking alcohol. For those struggling with alcohol abuse, sobriety can revitalize and save the life of the addict.
