Freak the Mighty, by Rodman Philbrick, is a very realistic book. It shows the unique friendship between 2 totally different boys. But their mothers, Gwen and Gram, play a role in the book too. Gram is Max’s grandmother that has gone through a lot, and has no problem voicing her concerns. Gwen is Kevin’s mom, and is the most caring mom you will read about. Gwen and Gram are both very understanding of everyone, but Gram is more hesitant the Gwen.
Correspondingly, every character is similar to another. Gwen and Gram are both moms, likewise they are going to be protective. Max’s dad left and became a criminal. So when they here that “Killer Kane” is out of jail, Gram goes on alert. She tries to keep Max in the house at all times. If they stay on the down low, then it will be harder to be found. This is her being protective of the whole family. Similarly, Gwen is very protective of Kevin. He has a critical disability. Anything could happen at any moment. This then leads to how protective Gwen can get. For example, when Kevin was rushed to the hospital after chocking, Gwen was there before he was. Once he got there, she new exactly what had happened. The have totally different lives, even though they are friends. For instance, Gwen puts every inch of passion in to everything she does. Especially, when she makes dinner for Christmas. Gwen pored over the turkey and stuffing for hours on end. She isn’t hesitant when it comes to helping others either. Like when Kevin was supposed to clear he boxes out of his room. She went to tell him, but then decided to do it for him, since Kevin was busy. In contrast, Gram isn’t so passionate as Gwen. In particular, when Max came home
Freak the Mighty, the book, and The Mighty, the movie, have many similarities. Max, Kevin, Grim, Gram, and Gwen are the main characters. Both Kevin and Max were outcasts and found friendship in each other. The two boys played with Kevin’s ornithopter, which was a special toy. In their spare time, they went on quests and slayed dragons. They referred to females as their fair maidens.
Both Kayleen and Doug provide a lot of emotion and conflict to the play. Doug came from a loving family that cared about him. Kayleen came from a broken family because her mom left when she was young and her dad was emotionally abusive. They both suffer from mental disorders such as anxiety depression and physical harm inflicted by themselves throughout the play.
Gram was able to support and help Aubrey cope with the fact now her mother has left her and her dad
The book assigned to me for this assignment was Killer Show by John Barylick. It 's an informative non-fictional book. It tells the real life tragedy of the fatal “Station” nightclub fire in West Warwick, Rhode Island. The story is told using flashbacks and analysis in each chapter of the book. Before I started reading this book I was intrigued because the main events in this story are in the 21st century. This is unlike the other books that could have been assigned to me. The date of this horrific tale was February 20, 2003. The book goes in detail about the history of the Station, what was the cause of the fire, how people escaped the fire and the aftermath of the fire. Barylick is a respected Providence, Rhode Island lawyer. After the fire, he was one of the lawyers that represented the many victims of the fire. Therefore, he knows how much this fire affected the West Warwick community. He has researched the public record of the fire 's investigation which allows him to point out those at fault. There were ownership issues, fire marshal issues and sustainability issues that caused such a disaster. The focus of this story that changed the built environment. Although this is a troubling story there is much to be learned from it.

George of does not have power over his spending limit because he always goes out to a whore house and waste the money George is very cautious on things so he would usually have power to control the situation. George has power over lennie but he isn't very responsible with his money and gets sidetracked very easily but is always very cautious on the situation he's in.
In the end there are some similarities and some differences just how it was meant to be. Nothing will ever be the exact same no matter what you are comparing. Anything like comparing Coke to Pepsi or flat screen and a tube TV nothing will ever be the exact same. In the end I guess that the characters are more alike than different or the opposite depending on how you are viewing them. Overall though Candy and George look like they will have a bright future together no matter on how alike or how different they
George tried his best to help his mom out in any way possible. He helped
Mrs. Loisel and the grandmother are very similar due to the fact that they both had the same motivation prior to their accident. It was a selfish motivation that
Gwen endured many hardships during her adolescent years, prior to meeting Jim and experienced even more with Jim. At the age of eighteen, Gwen felt pressured by her parents to live a life she did not want to, and so, she made the decision to pack her bags and leave. After Jim and Gwen met, the couple experienced even more suffering together, losing their jobs, being without a home and struggling to find the money to pay for a decent meal, they were constantly afraid their lives would fall apart within a second, and they would be left with nothing. However, the couple persisted and endured the poverty in order to build a solid foundation for their family. Gwen has left Meg completely oblivious as to what she had to suffer, yet is infuriated by Meg’s unappreciative behaviour, hence why Gwen behaves so offensively and harsh towards her daughter, and so, when Meg questions what her mother has ever done for her, Gwen snaps. “Sacrificed! Gone without. Gone through hardship so what happened to us will never happen to you. So you’ll never know what we saw - never, never, never.” (Gwen, act three, scene two). Despite her negative attitudes towards her daughter, and all the criticism she gives, Gwen only wants the best for Meg and to provide her with the opportunity to become the best woman she possibly can. Meg is lucky, however, to have a father such as Jim. Jim
But I definitely feel they have the same mood and a more than a few characters that are similar and some ways, ungrateful drug addicts and bratty arrogant girls, for example. Comparing these problems to my life definitely made me reflect and realize some things I just never paid attention to
One of the most prominent similarities between the two is the alienation they felt from their mothers. Despite the love they
