The American Revolutionary war was won by many contributing factors including the Colonist willingness to have the attitude for hope of freedom, great leadership, and foreign assistance. This war brought many people the chance for a different way of life. Great Britain was placing additional taxes or duties on the colonist which caused more unrest to the people. The battle between Great Britain and the thirteen colonies started with the shot heard around the world at Lexington. The colonist had the right spirit and a great attitude to move forward even at times when they were outnumbered. They declared themselves to be independent and christened themselves The United States of America. France was ready to help in the resistance to British rule;
The Revolutionary War could not have been avoided. The colonists had to let British soldiers into their home to live even when a war was not going on. The British were forcing unreasonable laws and acts onto the colonists. The colonists had to boycott british goods so they did not have to pay the taxes that the british were forcing on them. The war was caused by the British treating colonists unfairly with, the taxes, the acts, and the colonists had to boycott British goods.
The Revolutionary War was between the Kingdom of Great Britain and the Thirteen American colonies. The colonists did not like the way the British were treating them, especially when it came to taxes.great britain was ching to get more land but the american were living in america The colonists living in the British North American colonies who rebelled against the authority of the crown were known as patriots, revolutionaries, continentals, colonials, rebels, Yankees, or Whigs. However, those who remained faithful to the Crown were known as loyalists, Royalists, King’s Men, or Tories. At least that was the theory.
1 The spark of the Haitian revolution was the addition of a political system to the island of Saint-Domingue. France gave six “deputies” to the island based on just over the population of the white people. The United States of America’s three-fifths compromise was better than this. These deputies were given just after a decree called “the Rights of Man and Citizen” was created.
Although the Revolution period between the years of 1776 - 1783 had established the unity of the States to become the United States, an extremely important matter had not been dealt with by the people. In 1861, this matter was addressed in a devastating battle that lasted for over four years. This war became known as the largest and highly destructive battle between the years of 1815 and 1914. A battle that would either determine if the nation was to be based upon an independent government or a dissoluble confederation. A government that needed to determine if all men were created with an equal right to liberty. On the day of April 12th 1861, a divided nation known as the Confederacy (the South) declared the secession from the United States.
If a formerly poor and oppressed person was given a chance at peacefulness and prosperity, should they ever risk giving it up? Before the revolutionary war there were Americans who did not support the idea of fighting the British because they believed that they were already fortunately stable. In the 1700's British residents got to move to America and were given a chance at freedom and prosperity and almost none of them were willing to risk losing it but there were a few who had a bigger and brighter picture in mind. America was not a free country in the 1700's because the British still had rule over them.
Historians have argued the American Revolution was a result of the political influence of the British, and the colonists were trying to retain their rights. On the other hand, other historians contended that the colonists were more concerned on economic issues implemented by the British government. In conducting some research, I found arguments on the causes that ranged from military, religious, political, and economic interactions between Britain and the colonies. The Revolution developed due to a mesh of complex social, political, and economic factors.
I am doing a synthesis write on what I know about the revolutionary war. My claim is: you may think that the colonists and loyalists were different because they were fighting against each other, However in many different ways they are the same.
Revolutionary War The Revolutionary war is a huge part of history. This is when colonist wanted to break free from the british government. The Revolutionary War lasted for eight years and was a brutal eight years. The colonist did not start to feel like a Revolution was needed until the British government got tighter and tighter for colonial America.
The American Colonists viewpoint of the Revolutionary War was really just about them wanting their independence from the Britain rule. The colonist came together to rise up and fight against Great Britain. One really famous quote from the colonist standpoint was said by Patrick Henry, “Give me liberty or give me death”. This showed how much emotion was connected with the American’s wanting their independence (Wirt, William, 19732). The Britain’s point of view of this subject was that they wanted to rule over everything (“Iron Tears”, 20053).
The Revolutionary War provided the inspiration for slaves in colonial Virginia to fight for freedom, which propelled the war by widening the gap between patriots and white loyalists. With the rumbling of revolt in the colonies trying to break away from English rule, slaves were motivated to obtain freedom of their own. British military offered liberation to all slaves who would join their army, which encouraged slaves to escape from their masters in an attempt to achieve freedom. In an ad for a runaway slave, an African American man named Charles escaped from his plantation in order to obtain emancipation, described as “a determined Resolution to get Liberty, as he conceived, by flying to Lord Dunmore.” This ad portrays the appeal that Lord
The American Revolution took place from 1775 to 1785 as colonists sought independence from the British. Factors such as the French and Indian War, which led to the British implementing new laws and taxes, the Intolerable Acts, and the Continental Congress all contributed to the fall of British reign over American. The French and Indian War was fought between American colonists and New France. Both sides allied with different Native American tribes and the war lasted from 1754 to 1763.
The American Revolution arises when the British wanted to make money off of the colonists. Also by the French and Indian war leaving the British in debt, the Boston boycott imposed by merchants, and George Washington's protest, “No Taxation Without Representation”. Some goals include, ending mercantilism to mother country, people wanted a say in their government, to have a democracy, and independence. In result it was the first time a colony overthrew its mother country, Americans argued that they aren't offered the same rights. It started up new taxes and reverse salutary neglect policy, women of Boston refused to buy goods, and resolutions before Virginia House of Burgesses.
Not everybody knows that the famed thirteen colonies had to suffer many harsh fates under the hands of Britain to become our beloved United States. The thirteen colonies endured a lot while gearing up for an inevitable war against the British. After the French and Indian War, the British were in massive debt, so they turned to taxing and eventually torturing the colonists in North America, but when the American settlers tried to rebel, they faced even worse punishments, winding them up, like a toy, for war. The American Revolution was caused by three extremely significant causes, which included the colonists' blocked expansion west of the Appalachian Mountains, taxation without representation, and the many acts placed on the settlers from Britain.
The American Revolutionary War is a very important war for America as it was the war in which we gained independence from Great Britain. During the war the 13 colonies chose to rebel against Britain so they could become their own government but not everyone colonist favored the idea of independence. During the war you either were a Patriot or a Loyalist although there were moderates these were the two main groups in the American Revolution. Loyalist were in favor of Britain and did not believe independence would be a good idea. Then there were Patriots, who believed that rebelling for independence was the best choice for them and in my opinion it was.
Until 1763 the British government and the colonists had peaceful relationships. The Seven Years War, known in America as the French and Indian War, was a turning point. Although Britain achieved victory and defeated France and its allies in 1763, the war left Britain with debts. British parliament decided to increase taxes in the colonies. The increase in taxes dissatisfied the colonists.
