Dear S. E. Hinton, In class this year we read “The Outsiders” and I absolutely loved it! You are a very talented author. The fact that you were able to write a best time selling novel in highschool that nearly fifty year later people are still crazy about is incredible. One thing about the book that stands out is the emotion. Your book “The Outsiders” is a phenomenal piece of art that makes you cry and then laugh two sentences later! It was hard to lose those characters but they made the story stronger and made us feel the emotion of loss through the perspective of the other characters. A different emotion filled situation …show more content…
The amount of care and detail that was put into these characters is evident and makes us love all of them wholeheartedly. It was heartwarming to see the gang members working together and to be able to comprehend a small portion of their bond, proving that not all families have to share blood. “The Outsiders” is such a fantastic book that it is impossible not to love it! It is nice to have a story that’s not all sappy and sweet, yet is not full of violence. We also learned life lessons throughout the story such as making us think about why we fight, how we don’t always see the reason why someone made a certain choice and that it’s important to stay with your family and friends till the very end. When talking about positive points to take from the book another example is that anyone can and should be a hero. Everyone has something or one that they care and love and no one is too tough to help that thing. Dally showed us that and that anyone can be a hero by going and helping the kids and saving Ponyboy and Johnny from the flames. Being a hero does not mean you have to change the whole world, by doing the little things you can be someone’s …show more content…
It would be interesting to hear about their parents jobs and their life at school as well as at home. In the novel we got to learn about Mickey Mouse, Sodapop’s horse and it was intriguing as would be getting to learn about other pets or fun things in general that they did as kids. The knowledge to what we lack insight on would make a great prequel and I feel like there is a lot more that we don’t
The Outsiders was such an interesting, sad, and dramma book and movie that a lot of people have seen. It included deaths and characters saving lives. While you read this you will understand more and more why some of the characters are heros.
The Outsiders message is about “Nothing Gold Can Stay.” It explains that nothing good can go on forever and nothing young can last forever. It tells you about how and why we should enjoy what we have and keep and cherish everything we have to its maximum limit. Why shouldn’t we cherish what we have? Why do we need more? Why can't we be equally treated with same amount of things such as money and houses? That is the real question. We have that to this very day. In The Outsiders, their lives are exactly like this. They have their awesome rich people lives and the poor have unhappy lives. Some of each gang just want to be normal, the same, or similar at least. But their money splits them up. All because of a little extra
My opinion on the movie I watched, “The Outsiders” is that it was okay. I found some parts boring. There were some parts that was trying to be as emotional as the book and they looked very fake. The director of the movie was Francis Ford Coppola. The author of the book was S.E. Hinton. The Year the movie was made was 1983. The movie was about two gangs. The Socs and the Greasers. Two Greasers (Johnny and Ponyboy). A group of Socs jump them and Johnny is forced to kill one to save his friend from drowning. Johnny and Ponyboy run from the law to a small town named Windrixville. They soon become heros.
Have you read this book because it's good for philosophical chairs ,and essays. This book was wrote by S.E Hinton and most complainants is that if Ponyboy ethier should go to the system,or should stay with Darry. And Pony should stay with Darry.
But I didn’t just write The Outsiders, I lived it. Looking back, I realize how important it was to me to have another life at that time. To be someone else. To deal with the problems I had to face, and write my way to some sort of understanding and coping. This is all in hindsight. At the time, I was mad about the social situation in my high school. I desperately wanted something to read that dealt realistically with teen-age life.
Fracis Ford Coppola’s “The Outsiders” (1983) is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by E.Hinton published in 1967. There are many theories that can be found throughout the movie, victim precipitation theory, differential association theory, strain theory and labeling theory are the most prevalent. The story takes place in Tulsa, Oklahoma and revolves around the story of a 14 year old Greaser named Ponyboy Curtis. The town is split into two conflicting adolescent groups, the Greasers and the Socs. The Greasers are of lower class standings with harsh upbringings, poor kids from the wrong side of town (north) and are considered delinquents. The Socs, are privileged kids living on the south side who have an easy life where everything
It is scary when you don’t know anybody and have to try to make new friends. Many of your young childhood friends will stay with you for a lifetime. Today, I am still friends with many of my oldest friends. They have become like family. I want to say that this novel is a great way for people to see how somebody from a diverse population lives. It is a great book from the view of somebody living a completely different life than I have lived. I think it was very well written and is easy to read. This makes it a great teaching tool for children of younger age groups or college students as well. I read this entire book at one sitting because it kept my interest the entire time. I couldn’t wait to see what
The Outsiders movie which was released on March 25, 1983, is a American drama film directed by Francis Ford Coppola .It is a crime thriller and is adapted from a novel of the same name by S.E. Hinton .The Film was shot on location in Tulsa, Oklahoma and set in 1965 .The story of this movie revolves around the conflict between the two different social groups ,which is the rich and the poor. It is a class versus class conflict which gives rise to a physical conflict between the Greasers and the Socs .I feel there are physical fights throughout the story between the two groups due to enculturation. The native culture that is transmitted from one generation to another among the Greasers is the reason for their limitations.
I would go with “The Outsiders” by Eric Church because it reminds me about the book. In certain lines like, “A band of brothers,” reminds me of the greaser gang that they think of each other as brothers but not by blood. In his song he also said, “we’re the ones burning rubber off our tires,” which for me it reminds me a lot of the burning church in the outsiders like when it was up in flames and burning down. Also this part reminds me of their house how in the book they make it sound a little piled up a mess “we’re the junkyard dogs.” “The Outsiders” by Eric Church is better than “Outsiders” by Lecrae.
