To start off, did you know that evergreen trees have been used as Christmas trees since before Christ? The first decorated Christmas tree was in Riga, Latvia in 1510! There are also almost 25-30 million real Christmas trees sold every year! There are close to 350 million real Christmas trees growing at Christmas tree farms in the U.S. by its self! That’s a lot of Christmas trees! The states that sell the most trees are Oregon, North Carolina, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Washington. The very last state to make Christmas a legal holiday in the U.S. was Oklahoma! Secondly, if you have a fake Christmas tree you are going to want to put it together. Be sure to space out the branches enough. If you want a real Christmas tree, obviously
In Ibsen’s play A Doll’s House, the Christmas tree parallels with Nora’s development, her mental state, and position in the household. The tree can be recognized as an object placed in a house to please the eyes and adds beauty to a home. Torvald objectifies Nora, seeing her as a plaything carrying no purpose other than to look at and be pretty. As the play continues and Nora develops into a mature character and becomes aware of her repression, the Christmas Tree begins to visibly deteriorate and wither. The Christmas tree emphasizes Nora’s rebirth and realization of her own dissatisfaction with life and must act against Torvald. The disintegration of the tree also parallels the disintegration of the decorations (pretty dresses) Nora uses
Jonathan Edwards read a 6 hour long sermon talking about God’s wrath. Edwards is trying to emphasize how powerful God is and that people should fear him. The people listening to the sermon started to get emotional and frightened. They wanted to worship God and not provoke him in any way. Edwards tried to help people and give them advice on how not to go to Hell. People were fearful of the devil and did not want to feel the fiery gates of Hell. Edwards uses different types of language devices to help get his point across.
Boise, Idaho is located in a wide river valley at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. In 1834 the Hudson Bay Company established Fort Boise for the purpose of a fur trading location and as a general trading port along the Oregon Trail route. The fort was located 40 miles from the present day city of Boise and was situated at the mouth of the Boise River. The area of present day Boise was named “Les Bois” which is French for “wooded”. It is said that US Army Officer Captain Benjamin Bonneville said “Les bois, les bois, voyez les bois” which translates to “the trees, the trees, look at the trees” because they were seeing the cottonwood lined Boise River after their long journey across the more barren Snake River Plain. However shortly after the trading fort was established, it
Christmas is one of the most decorated. Christmas decorations start to appear right after Thanksgiving. Red, white, blue, green and gold are the dominant colors for Christmas. Outdoor decorations are the first to appear. There is no shortage of outdoor lights on many homes, bushes and trees to announce the season.
In Toni Morrison's novel Beloved, each character holds a special connection to trees and each places different meaning in them. The motif of trees and plants represent a calming force, escape from hardship, and circle of life that can heal the wounds of slavery. Paul D and Sethe are two characters in particular who place unique meaning in plants and use them as a way to escape their painful memories and the horrors of slavery.
It is a rule of nature that whenever an outside force threatens to destroy a body embedded in a community, that the members of that entrenched body will collaborate to exorcise that hostile opponent. In the same way, during times of outward peace, members of the same community will begin to oppose each other and order themselves by an individually reasoned likelihood of survival. Correspondingly, humans will often align themselves with others of similar political philosophy during times of international hostility but turn on themselves during times of international tranquility, forming intranational difficulty. This domestic destabilization, which may be incredibly minor or catastrophically important, will lead to the formation of factions.

It's a familiar sight in December: twinkling lights, silvery tinsel, round shiny bulbs, a gold star, and presents, all on or under a fir or pine tree. Some people have a tradition of dusting off a box and bringing out a tree to assemble. Other families enjoy the annual outing to find the perfect real Christmas tree. But which is better" a real Christmas tree or an artificial one?

In Edgar Allan Poe’s short stories, Poe reflects key events and aspects of his life, including his interest in the topic of time, and milestones that occurred throughout his personal life. In “The Masque of the Red Death,” Poe gets his inspiration from his family members that perished during his lifetime, including his mother, foster mother, and wife Virginia; “The Tell-Tale Heart” is a reflection of his paranoia, anxiety, and the accusations people made of him being insane. The American author was born in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1809. Shortly afterwards, he was left by both of his parents, his father abandoning home, and his mother passing away from illness (Mystery). Poe was passed on to live with his foster family, the Allans (Mystery). His foster mother, Fanny Allan, died of tuberculosis in the year 1829, and as a result of this, he moved out due to his foster father’s treatment (Mystery). During his lifetime, Poe wrote stories and poems, and became the highly acclaimed author that he is today. Among his works include “The Tell-Tale Heart,” “The Masque of the Red Death,” “Annabel Lee,” and “The Raven,” which specifically became popular when it launched internationally (Masque). As an author, Poe is best known for his use of a dark theme, and his supernatural beings that can be found in his stories (Masque).

Even though others might believe some good qualities in a person are not loving and respectful, those qualities are the ones I would look for in a good person.
Sometimes, Christmas seems to be all about grand gestures… the tremendous Tree at Rockefeller Center and the incredible decorations we see everywhere we turn. Yet, strange as it may seem, sometimes it’s the tiny little decorations which really make us smile and hit us over the head with Christmas Spirit.
