Dylan, Vivian, Kamal, Luke Mr. Ayers Language arts 12/1/16 Bernie Sanders: Feel the Bern Bernie Sanders is a politician. A democrat, a senator, a member of Congress of Racial Equality, and a part of The Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. Bernie sanders a man who fights for the middle class man, a person who cares for everybody. He ran for president, but unfortunately he didn’t win, but it still made an impact and his name is remembered. Most people didn’t know who Sanders was in till he ran for president, he may have not been known but he has done a lot.

A vote for Bernie Sanders is a vote for free education, reasonably paying jobs, and universal healthcare. [I need to add another sentence right here]. There are many reasons why Bernie Sanders is the best candidate for president based on his policies on college, jobs, and healthcare.

I believe Bernie Sanders is the best for the presidential position because he wants to help immigrants who are undocumented here and will do better for this country. He is a flared candidate who has an important message to the people, record free of evildoing and corruption. No other candidate has the credibility Bernie has on economy. For decades no one has paid attention to the American economy when it rigged in favor of the billionaire class at the expense of everyone else. Now people are finally picking their heads up and listening. Love him or hate him, everyone knows Sanders has integrity.

The 2016 Presidential Campaign candidate, Bernie Sanders, believes in creating a better America. In proving to the American people, rich and poor, how great the country can be if all people vote for who is trusted best as future President of the United States. The political figures in government care about money and wealth, not the people. Bernard Sanders would be the best choice for President for the main reason that he is concerned about the issues in America that create inequality for the people. The issues addressed by this candidate will create social and economic equality.

His movement uses different types of methods of action. They do the usual election action such as canvassing, but also different types of events. Many people from all age groups follow and support Bernie Sanders and participate in his events, from young children who are brought by their parents, to the young Americans who share and express his ideas through the form of memes on social media, to the older generation that have followed Bernie sanders throughout his political career and feel he is a great candidate to be in the white house, and will continue to be a great politician. The movement itself does focus on one major aspect of American society, and it is that of class. There is emphasis placed on lower income families and how they are continually taken advantaged of by the rich and powerful. If a person is in the higher end of society, and works for corporate America, it is easy to say they do not support many of Bernie Sanders ideas nor his movement, as Bernie Sanders will place more taxes and restrictions on wall street speculation and his constant reminder of the “billionaire class” and all of their influence in American politics.

Bernie Sanders is an American Democrat socialist who is currently the junior United States Senator of Vermont. Before being elected to the U.S. Senate in 2006, he served as a congressman for sixteen years. He has shown to favor social democratic parties similar to those in Europe. He likes to voice on many issues such as corporate welfare, global warming, income inequality, parental leave, universal healthcare, racial injustice, and LGBT rights.

Sanders plan is not flawless; however, I’d rather vote for someone who openly cares and tries to make a difference. The first reason why Bernie Sanders should be president is because he supports a true diplomacy first foreign policy. Having this policy means being reasonable enough with other countries to achieve a national objective. In the U.S., this deal is crucial considering our relationships with resource partners. Like current president, Barack Obama, he takes bold positions on the Iran nuclear deal to ease tensions in the Middle East.

Sanders has a lengthy track record of getting stuff done legislatively and was acknowledged as an amendment king who could align opposing political parties to create serious adjustments to the law. Sanders was a member of the House of Representatives from 1991 to 2007 and when he was first elected numerous people thought he would not be extremely effective, especially since he was an independent. Bernie Sanders’ plan to fix this isn’t making everything equal, as many people assume, where the person who works their life away is paid the same as someone who sits and twiddles their thumbs. “Sanders’ plan is just the opposite. First he want’s to increase the minimum wage up to 15 dollars. Though this does sound a little outrageous, it will provide many opportunities for those wishing to excel higher than a minimum wage job. The majority of those in minimum wage jobs, don’t plan to stay there for long, but to move forward they need a higher education, which they cannot afford with the current pay that they have. To touch slightly on education, Bernie plans to decrease the prices for education outside of high school. With the decrease in education prices, the minimum wage prices over time would then be able to lessen back near to the current minimum

Senator Sanders plans to give each citizens access to universal healthcare so no citizen will be denied health and medicine. Throughout his political career he voted yes and no on bills going through Senate and he voted each time on bills that expanded healthcare or made it more affordable. He plans on taxing the rich at higher rates, same taxes from resolving the income inequality, and set forth a system of taxing through the stock system that will create billions over the course of a year (). These new taxes would benefit the middle and lower class because they would finally be able to receive healthcare that many of the poor have had to previously live without. New taxes sound like a bad thing, but in Bernie’s plans it would only affect corporations and the top 10%. These new taxes wouldn’t affect the average taxpayer in anyway resulting in more money out of your paychecks, but would affect them by giving them and every citizen free healthcare despite any poor financial

Sanders tells us that climate change is much more than america can just fix by itself, it is something that we need to get a bunch of countries around the world involved in especially the major countries that contribute to the air pollution, such as china where they are experiencing many medical problems due to the awful air pollution. He also states that we need to find a new mean of energy besides using thing that release bad chemical in the sair that destroy the ozone of the only planet we are able to live on as of the moment. Suggestions have been made that we should move toward natural resources such as wind or water.

It is exceedingly difficult to dislike Bernie Sanders as a presidential candidate. The foundation of his campaign advocates policies for the working/middle class citizens of the United States, and NOT the big money interests. He exemplifies authenticity in his campaign promises and has a near impeccable voting record to back it up. Majority of candidates concern themselves with inconsequential rhetoric: Immigration, de-funding planned parenthood, refusing to believe climate change and banning same-sex marriage. Bernie has the cognitive clarity to see beyond the political wedge issues and elevate his presidential ambitions to the quintessential issues of the present day. Bernie Sanders was born on September 8, 1941 in Brooklyn New York. Growing up, he attended James Madison High School then went on to Brooklyn College, and then the University of Chicago. Thereafter he graduated and he became a carpenter and a documentary filmmaker in Vermont. In later years, in 1981, he was elected as the mayor of Burlington, the largest city in Vermont, by 10 votes. During his term he made significant strides in affordable housing, progressive taxation, environmental protection, childcare, women’s rights, youth programs, and the arts. Many of Americans are unaware of what the Democratic runner Bernie Sanders is envisioning for our future. Bernie stands for things that could helpful to everyone. He believes that everyone has the privilege to receive a higher education without being denied

Sanders is very pro-choice, meaning that he thinks the women should be able to choose if they want an abortion or not. That it should be between the doctor and the pregnant women. He also is going to help with full access to birth control to women. Sanders is also going to help women of relationship abuse. He is tired of women not being able to find a safe place from domestic violence, and how some states passed a law where it is a family problem and not abuse. Another thing that Sanders is trying to help on women 's rights is; equal pay. He is pro-Paycheck Fairness Act where men and women will be paid the same amount for the same job.
