Religious Persecution

On the other more extreme side of things, religious persecution can be extremely fatal, leading to loss of life over differing beliefs and attitudes. Just look at today’s political climate. ISIS, an extremist radical group known for being religiously charged, takes credit for virtually every act of mass violence across the world. This has caused people all over the world to be afraid of Muslims even though their religion really has nothing to do with these acts of violence. People have made the religion out to be the problem when that isn’t the issue.

The jews are having a really hard time. How they have to decide to worship Allah [God] by wearing a kippah or keep their life by not wearing their kippahs. In my opinion i think the jews should keep the kippahs and not to worry about getting hurt. The jews wear a kippah as a reminder that God is always with them. They are getting killed for that. Religious persecution is the systematic mistreatment of an individual or group of individuals as a response to their religious beliefs or affiliations or lack thereof.

The Jews in France are having to hide from non-Jews for their safety. They are having to stop proclaiming their religious faith in order to not be persecuted in doing so. We see the ones who are showing their faith, they are being hurt due to their religion.

There have been many witch hunts since the early days of Christianity, but there is no other witch hunt as famous as the one that occurred in Salem in 1692. Neighbours in the town turned against one another as they convicted over 150 supposed witches and executed 19 innocent people (Schiff,2015). No one was safe as even faithful church-goers like Martha Corey and Rebecca Nurse were accused and convicted of being witches. The New England Puritans turned against one another in a time of trouble and found their comfort through the Bible, which they interpreted with more and more extremist views. The Salem Witch Trials were a direct result of the lifestyle of the Massachusetts Bay colonists and the tenets of Puritanism, which combined to form the religious fanaticism that drove it.

The Jewish people have been one of the most persecuted groups in history since the days of Jesus, since the years of the Holocaust and still to this day (prezi.com). When the Nazis persecuted the Jews, one of the reasons given was the defeat of Germany in the First World War. The persecution of Jews reached its most destructive form in Nazi Germany, which made the destruction of the Jews a priority, culminating in the killing of approximately 6,000,000 Jews during the Holocaust from 1941 to 1945.

Many groups are being persecuted for many reasons. The are being criticized for their ethnicity, culture, and for what the believe in. Muslims have been persecuted for many years now. Since 9/11, people think that their kind are terrorists and that they’re bad people. Here is who they are and why people have been criticizing them for many years.

People are harassing the other religious people. Violence against Muslims are being increasing every year. Although they have no connection to terrorist people in our society think they are the terrorist. It creates a xenophobia in toward the Muslims.
