Have you ever thought of the idea of learning? I never really understood why kids my age have to go to school. I mean, here at home you have all the free time to do anything. At school is completely different. The teachers at the schools I’ve attended didn’t teach me anything that I needed to know before high school. At my old elementary school I didn’t quite get what my teacher was teaching. They said I’m above all of the learning at my old school, but when I transferred to Green Elementary I wasn’t at the correct level. I was behind. My old school was teaching, but in their way of teaching I didn’t quite understood what they were asking, and don’t get me started with questions.
In the month of June it was almost the end of my 7th grade. My math teacher gave me a “D” all year long. I was frustrated. I wasn’t organized that year. I knew I was going to be behind in all of my classes. I thought…
“Oh, I have AVID for my elective.”
This is really difficult for me, my schooling because I had to always keep up with my homework in 7th and 8th grade.
“I didn’t know what to do”, tears started dripping from my face.
I asked my avid teacher, “What should I do to stay focused in my schoolwork ” I said to my teacher. I’m struggling so much.
She offered to help me with my classes that I was struggling in. I understood why she offered to help me because somethings in life aren’t easy. My goal was to have at least a 4.0 in high school but in order to do that I have to get good
The American Civil War seen by many as one the most catastrophic loss of life to have taken place in the Western Hemisphere except for the Revolutionary Wars. Accordingly, the Civil War placed some of the European countries at odds on how to intercede; for fear that their support of the south could be seen as a support of slavery, and thus the prospect of war with the union. Mays’ book covers different opinions from different writers such as Howard Jones, R.J.M. Blackett, Thomas Schoonover, and James McPherson, who offered some critical analysis, with cause and effect why Britain and France did not intervene. May presented some outstanding deliberation on the impact of a single product on Europe. He stresses the ineptness of the
Every morning I wake up searching my bed for my phone. Flipping sheets and pillows until my phone appears. I lay back in bed and check my Facebook, Snapchat and Reddit. Telling myself that i'll get out of bed in fifteen minutes but I get absorbed into my phone and that fifteens minutes turn into thirty minutes. I start to do the rest of chemistry homework but in five minutes I lose my concentration and I reach for my phone without thinking. I end up doing my homework last minute before class. I always tell myself that I got to do my homework right after school. But that never happens because the same thing that always happens in the morning, Its a endless cycle. While I was typing up this essay, I thought of batman and went to Netflix and watched Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Five hours wasted that i could've used for homework. Some people self diagnose themselves with ADHD and blame their attention span and willingness to learn on ADHD. I blame it on the internet and ourselves.
Throughout my time at Chelan High School, I faced many challenges when it came to my homework and it took me nearly my whole high school career to realize how to fix it. The problem was how unmotivated and lazy I was when it came to have to complete my homework. Looking back at it now it seems that the solution was so simple, and it is frustrating that it took me so long to be able to self-motivate myself. It turns out that this responsibility was a habit of mind. This habit of mine helped me very effectively and completely changed how I went about doing all my school work and studying.
Dear Molly, I’m a sophmore in highschool and everyday I get so much homework-it’s crazy. When I get home from school, I’m never motivated to my work. I know I should do it, but I really don’t want to. I know it sounds lame but honestly it's a daily struggle. All of my friends have this problem as well, but they just “deal with it” and do it anyway. I want to be like them but I don't know how they do it. I take six classes a day and that's at least 3-6 hours a night after I get home from my seven hour school day. Do you have any ideas on how I can stay motivated and do my homework? -Eleanor
When it comes to homework… Do it timely. I know it’s usually not very fun, and Netflix is calling your name, but trust me on this one. I procrastinated and it stressed me out. Fairly, if you do all your schoolwork, the lesson is abruptly calmer. As much as we despise it, homework is there for a reason. Start assignments when you get them. I continuously did assignments the evening beforehand and it’s very demanding, so get them done!
This feminist study will define the commodity fetishism of the slender female body within the social relationships of patriarchal capitalism and sales marketing. In American society, the female body has a history of being exploited through patriarchal interpretations of the slender body as part of capitalist commoditization. In this manner, unrealistic expectations of the female body are enhanced in various advertisements, which show artificially photoshopped slender bodies. These distorted images show a patriarchal preference for women’s bodies that define the subjective market value imposed through marketing schemes to sell weightless products. Two advertisements showing this type of commodity fetishism will be defined through the marketing advertisements of patriarchal corporate enterprises. A Marxist evaluation of the marketing of the slender body will define these subjective social relationships that alienate women in the patriarchal commoditization of the slender female body for marketing purposes.
On September 6, 2017, I were documented for an incident that involved a University Housing policy violation. I was charged with violating the University Housing Alcohol 1.2 policy. With my violation, came consequences. I met with The Residence Conduct Coordinator to discuss my actions and came to the conclusion that I would have to schedule a meeting with The Campus Alcohol and Drug Education Center (CADEC) and with that, a reflection paper.
In our class some kids forget their homework. I’m not saying it’s not a mistake but it has become more of a problem as the year has gone by. You can fix this problem by doing many things. You could get organised, or even put it in your folder right after you get that worksheet or assignment done. If you forget your homework at school you could ask your teacher if you could come in before class starts and do your homework at that time. But with that solution comes another. If you can come in for recess you could get your homework done at that time or you could get it done at AP. That’s how you could fix the problem of forget your
Finally, take advantage of the time that you are given to get work done in class. Although it can be tempting to talk with your friends about unrelated topics, try to save that type of conversation for your passing and lunch periods. The more work you get done in class, the less work you will have to bring home with you later. Plus, when you do your work in class, your teacher is readily available to answer any questions that you may have.
The first way to be successful in school is to always do your homework, no matter how tired you are, how badly you just want to get on your phone, and go to sleep. Doing your homework will not just help your grade
People often say there aren’t enough hours in the day, or there is not enough time to help out, or do homework, or do anything new that they want to do with someone that they want to do it with. School gives you a ton of homework, especially in college with both reading material and assignments. For someone like me, who struggles with reading, there just seems to be no point because I have a hard time comprehending what I read. It takes so long. I find time to work on my assignments little by little. It is hard for me to balance school, homework and working. I am fortunate that in my job I have a lot of down time which enables my being able to work on my homework while at work. My bosses are very understanding and encourage me to do well with
School wasn’t always the easiest thing, and I did get in trouble when I was younger for speaking to seat partners, or reading during lessons, but my thirst to learn new exciting things remained and was never completely satiated. When I was 9, I was called into the guidance counselor's office to take a test. After my results came back, there was a a meeting between my teacher, my parents, myself, a teacher I had met a few times during mathletes practice, and a few other school officials. I didn’t really understand what was going on, just that the table we were sat at was the biggest my young eyes had ever seen, and that I was to be starting some sort of Program for Academically Talented
Over the course of the semester, I have been fortunate enough to work with a student who is having difficulties when it comes to reading. My student does not have difficulties when it comes to hearing a word, but rather when he sees a word. My student has definitely benefited from one on one work with me as well as the additional help he’s getting from the reading specialist during their WIN (what I need) time. My student does not like to read because he knows that he is struggling and he is embarrassed about it. When my student goes to his WIN time, he does really well because the instruction is at his level and there are only two other students who are also on the same level there as well. Besides the current intervention, programs I would recommend are Direct Instruction: Reading Mastery, Letter Spacing, Wilson Reading System and the Lindamood program (LiPS).
Since the beginning of the semester, my writing has changed and evolved to accommodate and sustain longer essays. With longer essays, there is more room for in-depth analysis. Further analyzing a topic has led me to findings that I did not know existed. As I continue to write, I uncover addition and superior methods to approach my writing to the benefit of me and therefore, my audience. Throughout the semester, I have incorporated techniques to further my narrative throughout my writing.
The media, most especially electronic and print, exert immense amounts of influence on the publics which they are charged to serve. However, the media do present bias and distortions, yet the audience or the readers are unable to discern discrepancies in stories so that they can be fully informed. What this media bias does, is create impressions and help to foment opinions on important issues, which leads to ramifications of public policy and practices. This power, therefore, hold influence especially when it comes to crime, and how the citizenry views crime and the measures needed to mediate it, including imposing the death penalty.
