Name: Anupriya Sharma Student ID: 43538843 Seminar: Tuesday (6 to 9 pm) Reflection on Seminar 3 Our entire modern world is revolving around cloud computing starting from smartphones in our hand to desktops at work place. In recent years, lots of cloud based products emerged in the marketplace; the most common of them are google drive, Apple iCloud, Dropbox, Microsoft 365, Xero etc. The cloud computing has made our lives simpler. Steve Jobs, the late chairman of apple once said that, “I don't need a hard disk in my computer if I can get to the server faster... carrying around these non-connected computers is byzantine by comparison.”(McKendrick, 2013) The seminar three focussed on cloud computing and it’s use in modern day business. The seminar discussed mainly the effects of cloud computing on the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and the Accounting Profession. ERP systems are essential for automation of business processes. They are much more beneficial if they are cloud based. I learned about cloud computing and their configuration and services. The seminar also discussed about the advantages and risks of adopting cloud based IT system in small and medium businesses. My learnings of the seminar are further detailed below combined with my understanding of the cloud system. What is cloud computing? I found that Cloud computing is often simply referred to as “the cloud”. It refers to delivery of on-demand computing resources via internet. These computing resources
Women in developing countries are heavily empowered by micro-loans. These women normally aren’t able to provide income for their family because of a lack of education due to low funds. On top of that, husbands are considered the money makers of the family, while women are expected to stay home and tend to their house and children. But micro-loans change all of this, as it gives women the power to start their own businesses. In full, micro-loans are very influential, and can help with women that struggle, and assist them in making more money.
This project is going to discuss about the Cloud Computing and its application in business. To briefly describe what cloud
The name cloud computing originated as the internet was drawn as cloud in network figures. Cloud Computing means operating tasks on the internet remotely in some public cloud which are commercial provider's data center. Some popular examples are Salesforce's CRM system, Amazon Web Services. Google Cloud Platform etc. To be exact, cloud computing is nothing but a mass management of data center resources as groups of software and their virtualization. It is basically utilizing the virtual machine for services and the main advantage is capability of moving, easy computation, storage and availability of network resources as the task needs and pre existence of services that are required. The another reason why it is preferred by lots of

Cloud computing is a computing resource which provides service through internet. Cloud computing provides various service models such as Platform as a Service (PaaS) where developer can design, build and test application that run on cloud providers infrastructure.[1] Example: Google application engine, Software as a Service (SaaS) where company host their data in cloud and user can access through internet. Example: Gmail, Facebook. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is providing basic services. Cloud computing has four models first is public cloud services are available over a network that is open for
Cloud computing is an internet based computing which provides various applications and services like storage, servers, infrastructure, networking with low cost, on-demand self service, pay as you go model, location independent resource pooling, reasonable price , rapid elasticity etc. Cloud computing is one way to increase the capacity add capabilities without investing in new infrastructures like computer hardware involves storage memory, licensing for new software, training for a person and in a dynamic way.
Cloud Computing has been a buzz world in the past few years. The use of this technology increased considerably when we made huge progress in this domain, reducing the cost for everyone. Today, Cloud Computing is widely used all across the world by a lot of companies such as Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon, etc…
During the course of this class, I believe that my positive attitude towards difficult situations has helped me overcome many problems. When I started my individual topics, I reviewed several similar projects from last year. After reading their reports, I gained deep understanding about the Cloud computing, but I was getting worried about what are some new materials I should include in my slices and my final report. I didn’t give up or get frustrated. Instead, I start doing research step by step.
These days the use of cloud services and the benefits they bring for organizations is an important milestone especially while there is a need for complex, huge, and expensive systems such as Information Systems. Cloud technology facilitates having a 24/7 service without concerning the implementation of the system, required computing resources, and IT employees to develop it. In this research report a brief overview of cloud computing is conducted. The benefits and challenges of deploying an accounting information system is discussed, and at the end there are some recommendations of success factors for adoption of a cloud based AIS.
In common usage, the term " cloud " is basically a metaphor for the Internet . Marketers have popularized the phrase " in the cloud " to refer to the software , platform and infrastructure that are sold " as a service" , ie remotely over the Internet . Typically , the seller has actual server energy-consuming products and services that host from a remote location , so the end user does not need to ; they can simply log on to the network without installing anything . The flagship model of cloud computing service , known as software as a service , platform as a service , and infrastructure as a service . Cloud services can be offered in a range of public,
Cloud computing has become a major topic of discussion and debate for any business or organization which relies on technology. Anyone connected to the Internet is probably using some type of cloud computing on a regular basis. Whether they are using Google’s Gmail, organizing photos on an Apple iPhone’s photo steam or searching the Web with Bing they are engaged in cloud computing. The interesting thing about cloud computing is it did not start as a technology for the business enterprise, but was driven by the public with services like Facebook. Over the last few years businesses have started to see the value of cloud computing causing it to become a major technology solution for businesses and organizations around the world.
The cloud is just a metaphor for Internet. Cloud computing is that service in which data is to stored and accessed
Despite its growing importance and necessities, cloud computing has several drawbacks and disadvantages. People need to think twice when it comes to cloud computing. They need to ask themselves questions like whether it is convenient or not, whether it is right or not, whether it is safe or not. No doubt that everyone is getting into it, but still there are several factors that have to be considered like:
Through the use of the Internet and remotely located servers, cloud computing’s technology allows companies to save money, by eliminating the need to maintain servers and other hardware locally. Having a central location for files, applications, and servers; companies benefit by saving money they would have otherwise invested in equipment maintenance, bandwidth, storage (hard drives), and memory use.
Cloud computing has gained significant popularity over the past few years because of its self service capacity, flexibility, affordability, scalability and its pay as you go service model. You may have also heard cloud computing referred to as the cloud, cloud hosting, cloud server hosting and etc. These terms have been thrown around so much and most do not even know exactly what it means. So what is cloud computing?
