Introduction Cloud Computing has been a buzz world in the past few years. The use of this technology increased considerably when we made huge progress in this domain, reducing the cost for everyone. Today, Cloud Computing is widely used all across the world by a lot of companies such as Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon, etc… But what is Cloud Computing, exactly? How does it work? How is it used? For what purpose? What can be improved in such technology? I will try to answer these questions during this report. I will firstly define briefly the concept of Cloud Computing with 5 simple examples of use. Then, I will talk about 2 companies (Heroku and Microsoft) that provide cloud services and explain how they benefit to a typical company. Finally, I will describe 2 challenges, one in research and one in commercial adaptation. Part A: Cloud Computing Cloud computing is basically the use of large groups of resources linked together through networking to produce a lot of performances. One of the main purpose of this technology is the scalability that it offers. Indeed, when you need more speed or performances, the only thing to do is to add more servers to the cloud. It has a lot of advantages, but the most valuable one for a company is that they pay for what they use, and don’t have to buy some powerful servers “just in case” they will need more resource. This technology is a huge money-saver. There are different services models used in cloud computing: Infrastructure as a Service
The focus of cloud computing is providing with scalable and a cheap on-demand computing infrastructure with a good quality of service levels. The process of the cloud computing involves a set of network enabled services that can be accessed in a simple and general way. Cloud computing provides with a unique value proposition for any organization to outsource their information and communication technology infrastructure. Moreover, the concept itself provides with a value proposition for an organization as using the cloud saves on cost, resources, and staff, and business opportunities for the organization (Katzan). An extensive connectivity of
Cloud computing is a one of the most talked of topics in the field of Information Technology in recent times (Keyun, Joe, Taha, & Ibrahim, 2013). This subject area of cloud computing basically is a term used to describe computer resources available as a service accessible over a network (Darren & Kim-Kwang, 2013). The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) define cloud computing as a model for enabling ubiquitous, convenient, on-demand network access on a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g. networks, servers, storage, applications and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction (Peter & Timothy, 2011). Due to the attractive nature of the model there has been rise in the use of cloud computing. Gartner, an IT research and consulting firm, says that cloud computing is growing will become the bulk of IT spend by 2016 (Gartner, 2013).
This project is going to discuss about the Cloud Computing and its application in business. To briefly describe what cloud
Cloud computing can be viewed as one of the most rapidly growing and evolving paradigm.Webmail, online storage and online documents are most famous examples in which customers can access their data via web browsers on the internet. The original idea of the cloud computing was delivered by J.C.R Licklider in sixties (Mohamed 2009). Cloud computing has developed since then and started to server the publics after internet offered a significant bandwidth in the nineties (Mohamed 2009). Cloud computing has been through many different phases and is still rapidly evolving.
Cloud computing is an internet based computing which provides various applications and services like storage, servers, infrastructure, networking with low cost, on-demand self service, pay as you go model, location independent resource pooling, reasonable price , rapid elasticity etc. Cloud computing is one way to increase the capacity add capabilities without investing in new infrastructures like computer hardware involves storage memory, licensing for new software, training for a person and in a dynamic way.
Cloud computing is one of the most useful technology that is been widely used all over the world. It generally provides on demand IT services and
People have a tendency to talk about cloud computing as if everyone understands exactly what this means. If you have never had it explained, it is possible that you may not have any idea about what it is. To
Recently, Cloud technology has turn out to be a huge buzzword, and with good reason. The cloud already creates remarkable value for clients and businesses by making the digital world simpler, faster, more powerful, and more efficient. In addition to bringing valued Internet-based services and applications, the cloud can provide a more
To make it simple, cloud computing is a system for users store and access data or programs over the internet instead of individual hard drive. This cloud system is composed of three parts in terms of four important features, several service models and development models, details of those components will be explained in this report.
In this century, Internet is on the edge of another revolution, where resources are globally networked and can be easily shared. Cloud computing is in the focus that uses the Internet as a large repository where resources are available to everyone as services.[5]. many people prefer cloud services for its flexibility, versatility, anywhere accessibility of the services through internet.
Cloud computing is Internet-based computing, whereby shared information, resources, and software, are provided to terminals and portable devices on-demand. It is a rapidly developing and excellent promising technology. Cloud computing is the product of the combination of grid computing, distributed computing, parallel computing, and ubiquitous computing. Cloud Computing model has enabled IT organizations to serve the users globally. It gives the services like Platform as a Service, Software as a Service and Infrastructure as a Service without users being much aware of the details in which the services are provided.
This paper gives an overview at the structure and working of the idea of cloud computing. This paper consists of the basic idea of cloud computing, its various characteristics along with its components, architecture and also the different types of cloud computing. In this paper the various terms and various concepts related to cloud computing are explained. This paper concludes with the current research and projects that are being performed in cloud computing.
Cloud computing is a significant advancement in the technology that cab widely be used in all types of organizations; either big or small. We have entered in the technological era where organization is represented by the type of cloud computing it uses. It influences the functioning and operations of the organization in many ways, encompassing the human resources, stakeholders, processes and strategies, and the inter-linked systems. When on one hand it has many advantages, including effective management and proper distribution of information over the internet, it can turn out to be disastrous as well. It adds to
The purpose of this briefing report is to provide an overview of what cloud computing is and how it can apply to a business or organisation. This document goes over what cloud computing is as well as it’s benefits and drawback. The benefits are in relation to the cost efficiency, accessibility & portability, as well as the security & data protection that cloud computing provides. The drawbacks are in relation to the potential threats to the cloud, Privacy and consumer risks as well as the cloud being only accessible when an internet connection is present.
The largest Buzzword in emerging trends for the computer world is “Cloud”. Cloud computing in the future for data, services and platform. The concept of cloud computing is to make whatever aspect it is being used in available at all times and to act as a resource. Turning computing into a utility will transform how the IT industry uses services, designs hardware and uses network infrastructures. The term “Cloud” however has many meanings, but understanding what exactly is meant by cloud computing is the first step to
