Throughout history, competition has been displayed between people in many different ways. From worldwide events such as the Olympics to smaller contests such as a class geography bee, competition promotes people to give their peak performance, put in maximum effort, and better themselves. As a result, the winners receive an award as a symbol of their hard work while the losers go home empty-handed.
