My dream has always been to go to college. I want to attend Southeast Community College in Lincoln, Nebraska in the fall of 2017. I want to go into Radiological Technician. There is a new environment, new people to meet, and many more experiences to get a fresh start of college. Growing up in a small town to going to a larger city. I am anxious to gain more knowledge and education about the Radiological Technician program at Southeast Community College in Lincoln, Nebraska. I have been interested in going into the medical field. Back in eighth grade I found out about this career called Radiological Technician and learned about it. Till this day I still want to go into the medical field to become a Radiological Technician.

I am responsible everyday of my life. For example, I have responsibility by showing up to school and getting my homework done and turning it in on time. Also, I am responsible by showing up to work on time and working for others even though it is not my weekend to work. I always try to experience something new each day. Whether this be learning something that I did not know about or trying to get someone to try something that they have never done. I am in HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America), which is an organization that I try to persuade people who are going into the medical field to join. This is a great way to learn more about the medical career that they want to go into. I joined HOSA because I was interested in Radiological Technician. By joining this organization, I learned so much about my career in which I want to go into. This made me want to go into to that so much more. One of my weaknesses is that I have always been a person that puts too much trust into some people, which is not always bad. Sometimes when I trust a person too much then I will not be able to trust that person ever …show more content…
Each of these play an important role in my education, give me responsibility, and lifelong skills. Doing all of my school work and my dual credit college classes require quite a bit of studying. When I am not busy with school and homework, I work at Frank’s Food Mart just about every other weekend. This can be sometimes hard to do because of the problem of having a lot of homework. Work is a great place that I get to help customers out with carrying their groceries out. Also, I learn many skills and responsibilities. Some of the skills that I learn, are stocking shelves, counting money and communication skills. I like to work with many people. Working at Frank’s Food Mart has been great with all of the community people and my co-workers. Some of the responsibilities that not only come with school but also with work is to make sure that I get everything done that is asked of me and more. Also, making sure that I show up to school and
I hope to continue my education by attending West Virginia University. At WVU, I plan to study to become a radiology technician. I have always dreamed of working in the medical field. Radiology technicians are people who take x-rays, MRIs, mammograms, and images like that. The technician is also in charge of making sure the patient is safe in the process of imaging being taken. After completing my studies at WVU, I wish to find an available job in the state of West Virginia or a surrounding state. I have always dreamed of working the medical field, and being a radiology technician seems to be the career for
Radiology Technologist have been around for almost a century. “Radiology Technologist works in various places taking diagnostic imaging examinations for patients, which are x-rays, magnetic resonance imaging, and mammography.” (eHow) This job is one of the few in the world that can give the risk of cancer to the rad-techs. And is stilled one of the most needed in the medical field. Radiology Technologist needs to understand computers and what the x-rays show, and how to set up a patient for and x-ray to be taken. Radiology Technologist are one of the highest paid in the medical field. This is because the job has more risk than any other job in the medical field. The radiology technologists have used x-rays for what has almost been in use
In 2009, I had chosen to pursue the Radiology Technician Program. I had picked this program, not because I wanted to do this as a career, but because at the time I had to pick a major and
Upon completing the Interest Profiler, two careers that was suggested for me was Radiologic Technologist and Ultrasound Technologist/Technician. When I first started deciding what I wanted to go to college for these two careers was a choice I had in mind. I thought about going to school for both, but I job shadowed at New Hanover Medical Center and decided to do Radiography. The career I have planned to go to school for is Radiation Therapy. Radiation Therapy uses radiation to shrink tumors or kill cancer cells, the only difference in the two is the level of education. My results were very pleasing because it was within the same field I have in mind.
When thinking of the average American teenager, responsible is probably not the first word to come to mind. Getting a job teaches one to be responsible and accountable. From my own work experience, I have learned a lot about being responsible. As a CNA my job is to feed, bathe, change, and make sure the residents’ basic needs are being met. These people depend on me to take
My topic that I am researching is a Radiology Technician. Basically, their job is to help Physicians take x-rays and to help them out with the readings. They also perform cat scans, ultrasounds, and radiation therapy. This article informs the reader of the job duties and occupational specialties. It tells them what they need to be able to do, such as noticing detail and clearly communicating. It also provides them with educational and preparation opportunities. The training is provided and the work environment is in mainly hospitals or, if you are in combat, a mobile field hospital (#10). They need to be physically ready, able and willing to perform their duties. They have to be very alert and vigilant in trying to study and notice the
I have always wanted to do something in the medical field, that way I could know that I was helping people. From a young age I watched my mom go through respiratory school and obtain a job in a hospital as a registered respiratory therapist. She would come home and tell me about how her day went and some of the crazy things that she had experienced. After listening to her stories, I decided that I too wanted to work in the medical field. What lead me towards radiologic technology; however, is kind of a strange story.
Radiologic technologists help prepare their patients for testing. A technologist plays an important role in keeping a patient calm during this stressful time. It is important for jewelry and other metal objects to be removed from the patient. A patient may have an injury or illness that impairs their ability to remove the items then the technologist assists them. It is helpful, if the technologist explains the procedure to the patient and explain why metal objects should be removed.
I chose to research this career because it is something that I have been wanting to pursue for a very long time. My shoulder was injured in wrestling and it has never been the same since, this is a major contributing factor to my career path. I want to be able to help others who are injured or in pain, because I know what it feels like.
The department that I am shadowing is the radiology, or imaging services, department where all x-rays, CT scans, MRI, and GI scans are taken and processed. There are many programs that one can take to become educated in this field, one of the bigger more heard of programs in Missouri is at St. Louis community college. This is a 73-75 credit hour program that takes three years to complete. The total cost for a Missouri resident is 7,616 dollars, about 101 dollars per credit hour, the cost goes up for students out of state and even higher for those out of country. The first two years are basic classes at the college while the third year is clinical practicing at a hospital to apply newly learns skill. For the admissions requirement: a student
“All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.” – Walt Disney. After graduating high school, I wanted to further my education even more by attending college at Georgia Military. Ever since I was little I’ve always loved helping others and knew that one day I hoped my job reflected that as well. Deciding to pursue my career as an x-ray technician was not an easy choice. However, researching has helped me set realistic goals to make my dreams come true.
Everyday scans help save millions of lives, but radiologists make sure those scans are read correctly to ensure correct treatments are properly received. Radiologists are medical physicians who specialize in diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries using medical imaging techniques. Radiologists use techniques such as magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, and x-ray. Radiologists interept medical scans in order to make a diagnosis so that the patient can receive proper medical treatment.
My mom says I was always a loving child. I always loved to talk to anyone that I seen and loved to help and care for as much as I could to the people that needed it. When I was little I never wanted to be a fairy or a dancer. I grew up always wanting to be a doctor or a radiologist. During high school, I always aced in the science classes. I also had the opportunity to join the medical career foundations (MCF) class at Genesee Career Institute. Many of my family members have gone to Mott and all I have heard was good things about their programs. They are cheap ad have a good teaching program. After taking MCF for a year and lots of research, I chose nursing as my major while taking classes at Mott. After I get my registered nurse license I want to continue to go to school to become an anesthesiologist.
I have been interested in the medical field since I was a young girl when I wanted to be helpful to people who were ill. That hasn’t changed, but since then, I’ve also become interested in the science of healthcare. When I was introduced to radiology, I knew it was the right area of medicine for me to work in. I started as a radiology volunteer at Dixie Regional Hospital, where I gained an understanding of a radiology technologist’s duties. I also learned how to compassionately communicate with patients that felt anxious about their procedures. I am now in the Radiologic Technology program and I love every second of it. I love being able to help Spanish-speaking people and make them feel a sense of comfort. I’m always willing to help people
