Quinn Hogan was sitting in the living room during his 5 minutes break. When the timer went off, staff Augustine Oloyede prompted Quinn Hogan to the gym for his exercise block. Quinn Hogan started to engaged in property destruction; banging on wall,window, flipping the table and attempting to pass through the living room window. Staff Augustine Oloyede blocked Quinn Hogan from passing through the window. Quinn Hogan then attempted to dart through the main door, and staff Augustine Oloyede called for assistance. When Martin N arrived, Martin N attempted to block Quinn Hogan from darting out of the house. Quinn Hogan started to engage in aggression (pushing, grabbing, hitting and scratching) towards staffs Augustine Oloyede and Martin Nganga.
On Thursday, August 27,2015, @ 5:29 pm ,Tyneice Daishae' Key( DJS Youth ) was redirected by Dennis Thomas ( Senior Residential Staff) to return to Tours Unit. Tyneice Daishae' Key( DJS Youth ) became verbally aggressive towards Telethia Menefee ( Residential Staff). Tyneice Daishae' Key ( DJS Youth) also began to curse and threaten to hit April Smith ( Supervisor of Tour Unit). Tyneice Daishae' Key( DJS Youth ) was redirected to her room to take time away. Tyneice Daishae' Key( DJS Youth ) was able to return to the unit and go to her room. Once in her room Tyneice Daishae' Key (DJS Youth) began to use her chair to hit the door with. The reporter stated there was an incident when Mrs. Sterling sent a 15 year old boy that Briana wanted to go to homecoming with text messages about her breast. The reporter also stated there was an incident when Mrs. Sterling dropped Briana off at a party she was not invited to because the host did not want to deal with her mother. The reporter stated Briana knew the owners of the home and she was not injured or harm while attending the party. The reporter stated Mrs. Sterling has been witnessed grabbing Briana’s hair, yelling, screaming, and threatening to hit her with a belt when she doesn’t perform her gymnastic stunts correctly. Ms. Barbay stated Mr. Sterling comes into the home drunk and Mrs. Sterling will call the children in a room when the parents are about to fight; the children have to stand in the room to watch their parents fight. Shane Bockenstedt is from Manchester, Iowa and is currently a senior in Agricultural Business at Iowa State University. I interviewed him on September 20, at Alpha Gamma Rho at 7:00 pm. He chose to be a student at Iowa State because he wants to be a part of agriculture in the future for a job and then be a part of his family farm. He thought agricultural business be the best choice for him to learn how to manage a farm and best understand his different ways to expand and diversify their family farm.
He denied pushing or grabbing Andrew. James Boston state he was in the back area of the office and didn't see the incident, however, he did hear Andrew using profanity. Staff member Boston stated Andrew can minimize his behavior and stretch the truth. Consequently the RP contacted the group home administrator Robert Carter at (661) 900-6342 and informed him what was being reported by Andrew. Mr. Carter disclosed there was video footage and the situation was being investigated. In addition he stated the language Mr. Wilcox should have used was guided not escorted out of the office. Furthermore Andrew has propensity to fabricate stories. The RP stated Mr. Care acknowledge Andrew was not being a danger to himself or other while in the office. When the RP disclosed to Mr. Carter the prior incident where Andrew reported his finger being fractured and the wrestling/fighting incident, Mr. Carter informed the RP there was never a visit to the hospital a fractured finger only a follow up appointment regarding a previous leg injury. McKinley went home on Monday, with her behavior card on yellow. The mother gave her a warning that she’ll beat her if it happened again. On 12-16-17, McKinley went home again, with her behavior card on yellow. Jessica got made and whooped/beat McKinley. Jessica gave McKinley a pound to the top of her head with her fist, followed by a pound to the left side of her forehead (near her temple), which resulted in bruising and swellings. Adam Kelly Ward, 24, of Texas was charged and convicted for capital murder of a housing and zoning code enforcement officer for the city of Commerce in Hunt County, about 60 miles NE of Dallas. On June 13th, 2005, at the time of the crime Ward was living at home with his father. Ward was outside washing his car when Walker, the enforcement officer, arrived to talk photos for a report after many recorded property violations. During the argument David was racially abused by the patient. After the incident David was moved to another ward whilst the other patient remained on the ward. That night, whilst David was on the other ward, he lashed out and hit a nurse. Following this he was restrained by five nurses and a struggle developed. The correct procedures for restraining a patient were not followed; subsequently, David collapsed and died (NSCSHA, 2003).
Resident Jorge L Palacios age 25 DOB: 7/8/91 disclosed to Service Coordinator Alegda Lira on 3/15/17 that staff at his home named Natty or Natalie (resident had difficulty with pronunciation) is consistently rude, blames him for everything, and picks on him. On at least one occasion the staff member made him cry as he pleaded with her to be kind to him. Often Jorge is forced to leave the home in the morning at approximately 8AM so the staff member can run errands. Subsequently the resident refuses due to being tired from working during the night, prompting the staff member to become angry with him. The reporting party (RP) stated she has been bullied for the past 4 months by both the group home youth and the staff members. According to the RP she has been called names, physically hit and punch by other group youth, and threatened with physical harm from staff members. These incidents has causes the RP to feel unsafe and place her at risk for harm in the group home. The first Friday of New Year, Darrell didn't want to go to the supermarket parking lot to met Tyray because he didn't want to be scared of Tyray. He decided that he didn’t want pay to him again. At school, Tyray came and asked Darrell about his money, but the teacher came in so Tyray went away. When they went to eat lunch, Tyray and Darrell started fighting and then Tyray was crying because he broke his wrist. Finally, they were both sent to the principal office. At that time, Darrell told the principal what happened. In conclusion, Tyray got suspended and Darrell got a warning.
The case that we are evaluating is about two high school student who were involved in a physical fight, which led to one student being arrested. The students who were involved in this altercation were Jamal a junior who was known to be a student with good grades and Juan who was a troubled kid who was a recovering alcoholic. Juan received poor grades in school and was known for having many absences. Juan was held back in sixth grade and struggled with social situations. He had never been involved in an altercation before.
Rivera explained that Micky behavior is getting worse at home and at school. He is able to behave when he is home. However, he does not listen to his mother. He stated that he would like to get help for his son. He said that the way that his discipline his children is by taking the table, phone, video game away and now he is implementing time outs. He said that the problem is when the children are with their mother. Micky would scream, hit himself, and say that he would jump out of the window. She said that one time he took a knife to hurt himself but she was able to remove it from him. SW told Ms. Rivera that when Micky is out of control and saying things that I want to kill himself, she needs to call 911. Ms. Rivera stated that she calls Mr. Rivera and he speak with Micky and he is able to calm down. The SW explained to Ms. Rivera that she needs to be aware of calling 911 in the event that Mr. Rivera does not answer the phone or that he does not calm down. The SW also suggested Ms. Rivera to place the knife in a place where Micky is not able to have access. He said that he is attending a parenting class and his wife would be attending a class as well. AP Brooks advised that on Monday, November 14,2016, student Delacerda,Jacob, H/M, DOB 05/18/2005, had Assaulted another student, Spencer, Reid, W/M, DOB 03/03/2005. AP Brooks stated that she was advised by an unk parent that Delacerda was found with his hands around Spencer's neck chocking him out. AP Brooks stated that Spencer told her that Delacerda had punched him in the face and then chocked him. AP Brooks advised when she spoke with Spencer about the incident she observed red marks on Spencer's neck, as well as, bruising around Spencer's nose and Spencer's eyes. Damian is a vulnerable due to his age, and depends on his parents for day to day needs and protection as, he is unable to self-report and in non-verbal. On the other hand, Devon is not vulnerable as he is able to self-report abuse and neglect. It is clearly observable as Tammy was observed with a bruise on her left arm. However, all witness denied the children being present when the domestic dispute occurred, minimizing the effect to them. The home is not out of control as there is no prior incident of domestic violence reported to support it was inflicted. Although, Armando has a criminal history that suggest impulsive and violent behaviors, there is no recent arrests. It is not severe as Damian and Devon are not in danger, the home condition is not causing any impact to the them at this time. Both children were observed to be clean and free of marks and bruises.
