Pursuing My Art Career

When I first started college, my academic goals were to learn as much as possible, join a Christian fellowship, get into the criminal justice program, decide whether or not to go to graduate school, and to graduate in four years. In addition, to also to either get a job or get accepted into an internship. My overall goal was to enjoy and make the most out of my college experience. My career goals back when I was a freshman, were to figure out if I want to join law enforcement or go to law school and find a job in the field of criminal justice, while being happy working the job. Over the course of two years, some of those goals have been achieved and some goals have been changed.

My parents have always told me to look for the best in life. Their hard work has contributed to many of my ambitions. One of my main ambitions is to be successful in life. To do so, I will graduate high school and continue my education. I will continue my education by attending college either at ECU or NC State. I will become a great pediatric nurse and a successful small business owner. I also want to be able to travel and have fun after having my own money. Later on, I wish to move out of North Carolina. I want to move out to California or Florida. After having some time of my own I wish to start my own family. I want to have a small family that I will be proud of when I am old.

The career I might choose after getting my diploma is a graphic designer. This choice will require me to go to college take a graphic design class. One of the jobs from my career cluster is an art director. Art directors create advertisement, broadcasting, and print things for companies. On the job, Art directors create advertisements that the public would be interested in. Typically on the job you have to use E-mail, strict deadlines, group work, sitting, being accurate, and working indoors for the conditions. As an achiever who strives to experience excitement and adventure in life, I find the lack of job satisfaction for most Americans to be disappointing. Having more than a job—having a career—in life is essential to maintaining happiness and allowing self-growth as an adult. It is necessary that every person does something they wish to accomplish during their life or feel the need to do to satisfy the means of their existence. After months of remaining undecided on my desired career that would necessarily fulfil my personal means, I have directed my studying toward the goal of being an art therapist. Welcome to “Meet & Greet,” I would first like to introduce myself to you as a teacher and artist so you can get to know me a little better.

An art teacher is an educator of the fine arts. This category includes painting, sculpture, design, drawing, crafts and more. On the daily basis, teachers are responsible for demonstrating techniques, grading work, having classroom discussions, selecting classroom materials. In addition, it is very important to help the students grow, unlocking their potential and artistic style. Each class would have around 20-30 students. Another thing to keep in mind is that though teachers have to work long hours, it may be necessary to stay after or work at home if they’re are behind on tasks like grading. Teachers can spend around 12 hours on average doing class related tasks outside of school. Its also important to have a drive to help people.

Researchers have created new strains of the influenza virus that wiped out 10’s of millions of people back in 1918. This was done so researchers could better understand how the virus mutates. Research was suspended up to 2012 due to concerns of accidental release and threat of terrorist turning the virus into a biological weapon. The research has also shown that the virus can easily mutate into a new strain that can cause another pandemic. This source shows that even the research of virus brings alarm to accidental release and potential for usage as biological weapon.

My goals in the upcoming years are to grow in as many ways as possible. I plan to take college as an opportunity to change my views, change socially, meet new people, and learn not only knowledge for a career but learn things about myself that I have never known before. I believe that once high school is over, most people find that it was not the greatest part of their life despite what they previously thought. I am still there, and I know for a fact that I have much more to look forward to. I have found from people around me that life can be wonderful, but it all depends on how you look at it. I want to learn to have a positive outlook on life. I have also found that learning how to work alone is not a bad thing. My goal is to learn how to work, and live alone because it is easier to work and live with others if can first support yourself. I have always relied on the people around me for help whenever I need it. In the past year of my life, I found that I need to rely on myself, and that is precisely what I would like to do. I want to fight like I never have before for me. I have always been the person to make sure that everyone else is okay, and I still want to do that, but now my goal is reassure that I am well before I continue.
