Attending art school gave me an inside look into the developing minds and personalities of game designers, and artists. Being an artist, I understand the creative process that designers act upon. Having a strong interest in the gaming world, I leverage social media and select news to keep up with emerging trends in the gaming industry. Combining my 3 years of military leadership, 2 years of management in the design market and experience with different ATS systems gives me an advantage over most recruiters in the tech industry.
One of my strongest talents is as an observer, trained in the military to rely heavily on communication skills, both written and verbal.
As a recruiter, I have worked with over 600 candidates face to face, with

In George Orwell, Animal Farm , Napoleon was a pig who emerges as the leader in the political novel . Napoleon is best described as Joseph Stalin in the Russian Revolution because They both are controlling, violent and, dominant. In addition they were both leaders of their land. On pages 92-93 of Animal Farm, there was a lot of killing going on. Between 1924-1953 Stalin killed over 60 million people he did this so that he could stay the leader of Russia. Sources say the people Stalin targeted were opportunists and whoever opposed him and try to take over will be killed. One thing Stalin and Napoleon had in common is that they both used a lot of propaganda when it came to controlling their land.
A pluralist art curriculum explores issues of social equity by bridging the individual with the world, which is essential because misconceptions about minority populations can lead to ineffective school cultures, disengagement in learning, lower standardized test scores, and weakened relationships with others (Chappell & Cahnmann-Taylor, 2013). Conversely, social equity issues are not recorded in the CCSS statistical achievement gains documents, leaving educators few valid tools of measurement for marginalized populations, and this project could help raise awareness and provide documentation of measurable growth (Chappell & Cahnmann-Taylor, 2013, p. 245). Therefore, in order to help address the achievement gap, create a sense of belonging in
It has been discovered that, “Nearly three decades ago, 61.1% of workers said they liked their jobs. That number has slid over time, reaching an all-time low in 2010 following the Great Recession, when only 42.6% of workers said they were satisfied in their jobs,” due to the findings of The Conference Board Job Satisfaction survey (Adams). As an achiever who strives to experience excitement and adventure in life, I find the lack of job satisfaction for most Americans to be disappointing. Having more than a job—having a career—in life is essential to maintaining happiness and allowing self-growth as an adult. It is necessary that every person does something they wish to accomplish during their life or feel the need to do to satisfy the means of their existence. After months of remaining undecided on my desired career that would necessarily fulfil my personal means, I have directed my studying toward the goal of being an art therapist. This uncommon occupation is described as, “An integrative mental health profession that combines knowledge and understanding of human development and psychological theories and techniques with visual arts and the creative process to provide a unique approach for helping clients improve psychological health, cognitive abilities, and sensory-motor functions” (“About us”).
I expect by me going to The Art Institute of Charleston. It will help me with my career goals because I love graphic design and the art of graphics. The Art Institute of Charleston will use their abilities that I have learned in high school. With these skills I will take them a step further and will make them into perfection. This is why I 'm going to push myself into learning the concepts of the art world and the design world. In this college I will become a better graphic designer and will pay more attention to details and make less mistakes in my work and art and all around. Also by me attending this college, I will become more out of my shell and think more outside of the box. Once I am creating new things, and learning more about myself and understanding what graphic design is all about and learning the core of graphic design, I plan on putting my learning and my knowledge towards them while I 'm in the workforce and upon graduation. Attending this college is one of my milestones in my stepping stones of my life and one of my skill keys that will help me improve on my ability to design. I can put forth more effort when I become a graphic designer and to put more motivation into this school will help me become what I always dreamed of becoming, and making my dream an actual reality instead of just a fantasy. Attending The Art Institute of Charleston will change my life dramatically and help me to mold myself into the best of the best and put me back on track to where I
In 2013, the Strategic National Arts Alumni Project, a project of Indiana University, surveyed more than 77,000 arts alumni. 75% of art school alumni have been self-employed at some point in their career. Yet 78% of the respondents indicated little or no preparation of financial and business management skills; 74% indicated little or no preparation of entrepreneurial skills. 53% indicated that they are currently working artists.
An art teacher is an educator of the fine arts. This category includes painting, sculpture, design, drawing, crafts and more. On the daily basis, teachers are responsible for demonstrating techniques, grading work, having classroom discussions, selecting classroom materials. In addition, it is very important to help the students grow, unlocking their potential and artistic style. Each class would have around 20-30 students. Another thing to keep in mind is that though teachers have to work long hours, it may be necessary to stay after or work at home if they’re are behind on tasks like grading. Teachers can spend around 12 hours on average doing class related tasks outside of school. Its also important to have a drive to help people.
Qin Shi Haung Di was the first emperor of the Qin Empire in China during the 3rd century BCE. Born in 261 BCE, Haung inherited the throne from his father at the early age of 13 and showcased his ambitious spirit by unifying China and creating his empire (Swart 1984). While he is known mostly for building the Great Wall of China, he also left quite a legacy when it comes to his elaborate burial grounds. In 246 BCE, thirty-six years before his death in 210 BCE, Emperor Qin started planning the construction of his extravagant final resting place (Swart 1984). The Emperor’s mausoleum was essentially a small, underground city showcasing Qin’s power and influence using different artistic mediums.
She explained that many of the projects the students create are based off of themes they are studying in class, for example third grade is looking at geometric design and creating art in the style of African tribes. Mrs. Fitzgerald explained the art curriculum is a process and each year more technical skills are added. Mrs. Fitzgerald assesses the strengths and weaknesses of the fine arts department by allowing the students to set goals at the beginning of the school year and reviewing them throughout the year. She explained that third grade is working on a weaving project and that the project has a combination of teacher expectations and student goals.
I would like to study illustration as it has become clearer to me that this may be the right course for me as well as the right career path. From a young age up until this day I have always had a creative drive and an interest in art. Growing up I was involved in various sorts of art projects and workshops outside of school and during school breaks on recommendation of my teachers. One of the workshops I was involved with was with Peacock Visual Arts, which is an art centre located in Aberdeen that would provide workshops to kids during the summer, it was there my passion for art, primarily sketching grew but at the time I did not have the clear focus to know what it was I wanted to study at university.
Growing up and planning your future can be a hard thing to do, and with so many options it can be confusing and stressing. Good thing I’ve narrowed down my options. Growing up is a challenge especially in these times. One has to carefully plan one's future. The good thing is we are still young and have the opportunity to start a career and change it if we lose the interest we held in it. I am one of the millions of teenagers that has no clue as to what's going to happen once we graduate from high school, although I do have backup plans ready just in case. I've chosen three careers I want to mainly focus on Medicine as a Nurse Practitioner, Military as a Mechanic, and Art Departments as an Art Therapists.
If anyone is asking me honestly, I had originally wanted to pursue graphic design at art school, and had no interest in any of the sciences. I had wanted to be able to learn how to design the aesthetics of product packaging, and not have to be stuck memorizing chemical compositions all my life. But then, I had met an epiphany when I was taking my daily shower concert, and asked myself, “Is the world going to change because you designed some pretty packaging for a lipstick tube?”. “Shouldn’t I be trying to do something that significantly changes the world, even if it’s something small?” I started thinking about whether or not something like art could really enrich my life, or the lives of others. I had realized that the reason I had chosen art in the first place was not only because of my small interest, but because I was lazy.
Art education is often underestimated by many who believe that school was created to teach only analytical concepts such as mathematics and literature. However, research has shown that art courses are important, even necessary for students in elementary, middle, and high schools. These art classes may include not only visual arts but performing arts such as dance, theatre and choir. Barbara Streisand said, “Art does not exist only to entertain, but also to challenge one to think, to provoke, even to disturb, in a constant search for the truth,” (Quotations). Streisand points out that there are multiple benefits to art whether it be painted by a brush or sung from the heart. Art has the ability to allow people to see situations from
Art is all around us. It’s a part of our everyday lives. As time goes on more and more people will start to realize the importance of art. They will see that art is an essential tool that contributes to the growth of society. The future of art will be nothing less than bright. I predict that art grow in all aspects of life. In this essay, I will go into details of what I think the future holds for art education, public art, and what I will contribute to the future of art.
Sunlight flooded prosaically through the kitchen window catching the glint of the metal that encircled a green wristwatch. The watch's owner lifted her head up from a puzzle and looked into the sunlight. Her head raced as she recalled the sun hitting the window the day before at 5:28. She regarded her watch anticipatorily as the minute hand slid to the right. Thirty seconds elapsed as she waited for a second light to flood the window on the opposite side of the kitchen accompanied by the muffled slamming of a car door. 5 seconds, 4 seconds, 3 then 2. Pavement crunched under tires rolling over it. The minute hand on the girls watch shifted again marking 5:30. Hinges on the front door groan as heels it the
The big debate in someone’s head when they are a senior in highschool and are getting ready to graduate is if they are planning to attend college, then what college to attend is the big question. For students that want to pursue art in college, then the big question is if art school is the way to go or “traditional” college with just a major in some medium of art. I believe that if anyone wants to be an artist or wants to do something in the art field, that they would benefit more from an art school than a school whose sole purpose is not to prepare students with access into the art world because of their high quantity of like minded students, and it provides students with more time to focus directly on artwork. Though it does generally cost more than a traditional university or college.
