How exciting this past week has been for me. Julie Hyland's presentation got my brain just a turning on how music plays such an important part of everyone's life. We have the Music & Memory program where I work but don't feel that it has been explained or used to it's best interest. I am excited about finding out more information and making it a better program at work!
Yes! Education is very important to me because of the way I grew up. My mother wasn’t very educated about children sometimes I think she thought that children should come with a how-to book, which is why my brother and I were put into foster care. I told myself that when I grew up I was going to go to college. I enrolled here at Ashford University on December, 21, 2014 and I’m estimated to graduate on December 3, 2018. My three (3) educational goals that align with education as a core value are Goal A, Do the best to my ability and apply myself to do the work and receive a passing grade. Get a “B” or better. Goal B, Never give up! No matter what anyone says? My final goal C is to finish out with my bachelor’s degree in childcare. With me willpower has a play in all that I do. I have so many people that do not believe in me. They say that because I have a learning disability that I won’t be able to do the work in college. I use my willpower to show them they are wrong. My willpower is
For my critical thinking assignment I was asked, what privileges do I have, that I don’t give much thought to. I have many privileges I don’t give much thought to, such as having a home with comfortable furnishings, having food to eat and never going hungry. I also have a car that gets me to and from places I need to be. I always have clean clothes that are weather appropriate. It’s a privilege of mine to walk, see, hear, and speak; also to have the freedom to be who I want to be. A privilege that is so meaningful, that I often take for granted is spending time with my family and friends. Another privilege I take for granted is being able to attend a diverse college and be able to have relationships with people of

Sleep is undoubtedly one of the most essential requirements for the human body to function properly. It plays a very important role in ensuring the wellness of the human body both physically as well as mentally. In fact, the importance of sleep is clear from the fact that it helps you in maintaining a good lifestyle throughout our entire lifetime. Not only does it help maintain our physical and mental health; rather it also helps in maintaining a decent and healthy lifestyle along with ensuring safety from a number of fatal diseases. It is usually said that the mood in which you wake up is largely dependent on the type of sleep you have been in. This in itself is a big proof of the importance of sleep in our lives. While sleeping, our body finally gets its share of rest and it also gets ample time in rejuvenating from all the wear and tear that it went through during the entire day. Not only this, the body is in its own working condition when we are sleeping as this is the time when it supports the healthy functioning of the brain as well as physical attributes of our body.
2. Do you think the suggestions provided on this website are based on scientific evidence? Why? I believe that the suggestions from the University of Georgia Health Center are scientifically based. As stated in the book, the stress response in the human body is regulated by the sympathetic and parasympathetic divisions of the autonomic nervous system (Lyons & Martin, 114-115). In simple terms, the sympathetic nervous system revs up the body and prepares it for emergency situations. Meanwhile, the parasympathetic nervous system serves as a negative feedback loop for this response, and calms the body back down. The majority of the sources from the website such as progressive muscle relaxation, deep breathing, meditation, visualization, etc,

Working hard can turn out to be quite stressful at times not only for your brain but also for your body. Stressing out physically while working can often turn out to be a real issue. In order to prevent it a regular massage is often prescribed by many doctors and health advisers. Massage can reduce your physical stress and helps you to relax yourself. San Diego massage therapy is quite famous for providing relaxation to the tired muscles of the body. It releases the lactic acid which is held up by the muscles. This helps the muscles to relax up to a good extent.
As the combination of different sounds travel through out ears, we tend to connect music with certain emotions or memories. For example, to feel that adrenaline rush we select a more upbeat tone in music. If you want a relaxed mood, you listen to something nice and calm with a relaxing melody. According to an article by Mental Health Center, students at Penn State did a study on music and emotions; they showed that people’s emotions have a more positive attitude after they listened to music. Music has a great

Massage, whether we label it as a form of pampering or pain management, can greatly help with anxiety, depression, sleep quality, fatigue and concentration. Massages release endorphins- so these amino acids that work as the body’s natural painkiller increase our happiness. It is important to take note that experts have estimated approximately 99 percent of disease is stress-related, so one must manage this stress before it impacts our health negatively. Clients come out of massage clinics with a much better sense of perspective and clarity.
