What can I Personally do to Promote Americanism in my School or Community? Americanism is a word that we should all be familiar with. It is something that defines this country and the people in it. Americanism to me is being courteous and gracious to the country that you live in. In my essay, I will be talking about what it means to have a flag in the classroom, community service, and how to be a citizen of your town/city. My first main point is what it symbolizes to have a school flag in the classroom. I believe that every classroom, big or small, should have an American flag to support our country and be proud to live in it. This is one of the many ways to show that you service the people that have sacrificed their lives for us. The 50 stars represent the 50 states that are free because of them. They are American heroes and the flag is representing that we will never forget them. They are one with the flag. Believing in this, there should be a flag in practically every corner. …show more content…
Depending on where you live, community service is different for everyone. But despite where your community is, there is always a way to help out and contribute. Community service is a way to show that you as a citizen, are grateful to live in a community that supports you and you would like to keep that tradition going in the town. Community doesn’t have to be a thing to get into a good school. It should be something to do out of respect for your family and the people that you care about around
When applying for a position at a job, managers always check to see how much experience you have in order to check if you are qualified. When filling out a college application there are always questions that ask to write down any extra curricular activities you participated in or any clubs/service work you did and for how long. It is important to be a part of the community and to be dedicated to one or two locations for a certain amount of time to show commitment and effort. A student that has been a part of an organization for about three months and has not missed will be prefered at a college than a student that goes five times a month. Community service does not only help build relationships but allows students to spend their time learning new skills and it will benefit them in the future. Community service for high school seniors should be mandatory because it will teach the students how to be responsible, allow them to explore in depth something related to their career and improve their communication skills.
Community service is an act of selflessness that grows a caring community. Community only consists on what it’s members are willing to contribute to it. Personally, it is my pristine pride to assist the community in it’s development it into a bountiful place for all.
‘How can I show Americanism?’ That is a question that crossed every Americans mind at least once. And there are many answers to this question. For instance, we can hang a American flag outside of our house, or think for a minute how lucky we are to have our freedom. Bun this essay, I will not just have a few ideas about how to express Americanism, I will have many ideas.
What does community service means to me? Well, to me community service mean helping your community become a better place. When you do things for your neighborhood, it makes you feel like a better person. There are all sorts of activities you can do in your community. You can work with children at school, work with the elderly, or help people that are less fortunate and make their day very special. Community Service is very important because it gives you a chance to bond with the people in your neighborhood. It will also give you a chance to give back to your community , you’ll learn a lot from your experience, and you’ll make a difference in someone’s life. I recommend a lot of people to go out and make a difference.
Americanism has a different meaning to everyone. It defines who we are, and the country we live in. To me it means victory. All the wars we have won. The Civil war and the Revolutionary war are a symbol of America. Even we when the chances were very low we never gave up. All the great soldiers help us win. Americanism also means to be free. America gained its freedom from Great Britain. Free to do anything. You are allowed to do study anything in the world and pick your own religion or not have one at all. One last thing Americanism means to me is diversity. To be able to walk in a store where everybody is equal. No matter the race, color, or how you look like. In America there are races from all the world. All
How would i promote americanism? I would say doing the right things in life like staying with the right people and not getting into the things you probably shouldn't get into like being over whelmed by doing drugs or smoking cigarettes. Many people in the world are always being influenced by the wrong person at the wrong time. In a way people are making our world worse and worse. Thats why we need to stay on the right path and be the person you want to be. They way that i think we all are promoting americanism is being the person you are and growing up to do things for the world and make it a better place.
According to Roosevelt, Americanism is a characteristic of those Americans who perform their allotted tasks by facing them steadily and bravely, seeing but not fearing the dangers (6). It is a sense of brotherhood. As Roosevelt states in his paper:
Americanism. According to the dictionary it means "a characteristic feature of English as used in the United States." To me it means a lot more than that. It means three main things to me like freedom, all of our needs are. When I hear the word freedom, I think about freedom of speech and the freedom of choice. In America, we have the freedom of speech. We can say what we want to say anytime we want to say it. The power of speech is often abused. People in America often do not realize how lucky they are to. Another thing that I think Americanism means is freedom of choice. From the time children are born and until they go off on their own, the parent or guardian tries to choose what is best for the child. Children choose their own destiny while
Americanism is the attachment or allegiance to the traditions, interests, or ideals of the United States, cited from the Merriam-Webster. It might seem like our country has a hard time coming together and bonding over Americanism, especially since there are many shootings, as well as, riots going on in present-day United States of America. So the main question might be: how can we, the People of the United States of America, unite and promote our love for our country.
What ideas are associated with Americans? What types of ideology makes the United States different than other countries? The American Dream and the aspiration to achieve one’s dreams is one of these elements. At the core of the United States is the belief that anyone can achieve anything. Every American is taught that anything can be accomplished, no matter who someone is or where someone comes from. Every individual aspires to achieve greatness—however an individual chooses to define it. Americans are often able to and encouraged to pursue this dream, and overcome any obstacles standing in their way. In the United States, it is normal to wish to achieve greatness instead of settling for practical job, and for parents to desire for their children
There can be different things that I can do to promote americanism in my school like; stay after school or in school and help teachers take things out their vehicle and help students with their work, when games are going on help at the concessions, clean the school when you get out of school or after games. In my community I can promote americanism by : cleaning the park, volunteering at shelters and giveaways, give things to people who need it, give money to charity, shovel other people’s yards when it snow’s, rake other people’s yards, mow their lawn, and help people when needed. When veterans come you can greet them and thank them for their
What does community service mean? Community service, to me, means bettering the community with volunteering at local places, business, or helping the people themselves. Community services is very important due to most of the things in a community such as parks, food banks, etc. being ran/used by the community.
“Community Service is important for many reasons. Taking part and volunteering teaches compassion and understanding. You can volunteer for something you really believe and have an interest in, and can volunteer as much or as little as you'd like or have time for.” Community service is really easy to get into. I mean, it is not like you have to put out an application and have an interview in order to do it. It is really easy to get into, and is really fun. It is things you wouldn’t even think are considered, like:
Americanism is the love for the cultures, ideals, and thoughts of the United States. Americanism hasn't always been embraced, and to this day is rarely appreciated. The origin of Americanism dates back to colonial America, after the French and Indian War, but before the American Revolution. During this time frame, the British and colonists had a very tense relationship. Many colonists did not agree with the British on the taxes, and specifically the Coercive Acts, while many others remained neutral on the issue not wanting to start a war. The colonists who broke away from British ideology declared themselves Americans, and the colonies as America.
Community service is not solely based around cleaning up your neighborhood. However, some actions that can be considered as community service are the following: Build a house with Habitat for Humanity, donating your clothes to goodwill, the church or red cross, donating eyeglasses to organizations who are in need of eyeglasses, donating your blood in a blood drive, donating food, volunteering at a soup kitchen, helping out at schools and non-profit organizations, send cards to soldiers over seas, hold a bake sale to raise money for a charity, influencing people to not only register to vote but to also get up and vote, help out in hospitals, tutor children, coach a youth sports team, babysit children, help out in senior citizen nursing homes, foster an animal from a shelter, volunteer at police
